This book did not end how I expected tbh. I did think the main character, Lottie, acted like a child in some scenes (by that, I mean she acted like a 10 year old instead of a 15 year old).

During a library visit, Missing in Paris caught my eye. The back cover intrigued me with its ominous lines: "Rule 1: trust nobody, rule 2: always be careful, as a girl, alone, you're not safe here." These lines made me curious about the story. I was looking for something full of suspense, and this book seemed to offer just that.
Before I started reading, I expected a thrilling story with unexpected twists and mysteries. Fortunately, the book did not disappoint. While I didn’t fully relate to the main characters, I empathized with their fears. The situations they found themselves in, especially in the dangerous and mysterious Paris, added extra tension.
What surprised me was how easy the book was to read. Normally, I'm not a big fan of reading, but this book flowed so smoothly. The short chapters and quick build-up of suspense kept me wanting to read more.
The ending was thrilling and completely unexpected. The author managed to tie everything together well without it becoming too predictable. The story kept me intrigued until the very end and raised questions about trust and how well you really know the people around you.
I would recommend Missing in Paris, especially those who enjoy suspenseful stories or those who don't read often. The book is easy to read, has an engaging plot, and keeps you hooked until the very last moment.

In Missing in Paris volgen we Lottie zij gaat in Parijs op zoek naar haar zus Nina,die vreemde brieven met speciale codes naar haar stuurt en verders niks van zich laten horen. Hier starts dan ook de spannende zoektocht naar Nina.

In het eerste hoofdstuk van het verhaal duik je meteen het verhaal in, zo word de spanning meteen al opgebouwd waardoor je meteen naar aanwijzingen gaat zoeken en meer van het mysterie te weten wilt komen.

Ook leest het verhaal vlot en is de schrijfstijl erg fijn. De personages zijn leuk en interessant zo bouwt Lottie naast haar zoektocht naar Nina goede relaties op met andere personages in het boek. Wat ik vooral schattig en tevens leuke toevoeging vind is Vatan een zwerfhond die een goede klik krijgt met Lottie en dus meegaat op avontuur.

De zoektocht naar Nina is ook op een leuke manier bedacht,zo moet Lottie het hebben van kleine hints die Nina heeft achtergelaten. Zo word het als het waren een speurtocht naar aanwijzingen die leiden naar de vindplaats van Nina wat het boek spannend houd gedurende het verhaal.

Ik geef dit boek 2.5 sterren. Het voelde meer als een short story. Het voelde erg gehaast allemaal. Er zat geen diepgang achter. Ik voelde me ook niet aangetrokken tot de karakters. Verhaal was op zich wel leuk als er wat meer over sommige scènes werd geschreven.

I read it out in 3 days which for a slow reader like me is spectacular. the book was thrilling from in the beginning which kept me interested throughout the whole book. I quickly had suspicions of who it could be but I loved that it made me speculate. (I was right!)

The ending made it a bit better, but for the rest it is just not for me. I have might liked it a bit more when I was younger, but i think i still would not have been carried away by it.
