Every day I walk up the driveway to this gorgeous house and through the window I see the picture-perfect a husband and wife playing with their two adorable children. They think I’m just the delivery driver – a woman who is only here to drop the expensive packages that Sadie Hunt orders. They have no idea who I really am…
Sadie pretends to be the perfect wife and mother, but the truth is that her life is spiralling out of control. I notice the cold stares she gives her husband and the way healways tries to make her smile. I know that Sadie doesn’t deserve this dream house or her little son and daughter. And she certainly doesn’t deserve smart, handsome Reid who provides everything for their family.
So when Reid opens the bright yellow door, I smile widely at him. Our exchanges are short, but I’m certain he must understand how I feel about him. And today I’m sure his gaze lingers on me a little longer than usual. I’m determined that it will only be a matter of time before I’m the new Mrs Hunt.
Because Sadie must know she always had it coming. And I will do whatever it takes for this family to be mine…

✨️ ARC REVIEW ✨️ I Want Your Family by Daniel Hurst Publication date: 20th February 2026
Thoughts Oh for the love of unhinged FMCs😂 do we call Luna mentally unstable or off her marbles type jealous??? You know it's a well written thriller when you dislike the characters with a passion but you wanna keep going😅 Daniel Hurst's books are always a delight to read, fast paced, engaging easy read filled with twists -- some can be predictable but still doesn't take away from the reading experience or plot. If you're looking for a quick thriller read I definitely recommend this one!
Plot Summary Luna delivers packages to the same beautiful house every day, watching what looks like a picture-perfect family through the window. To them, she’s invisible—just the delivery driver. But Luna sees the cracks beneath the perfect surface, especially in Sadie Hunt’s carefully constructed life. As Luna’s attention turns toward Sadie’s charming husband, her quiet observations shift into something far more dangerous. Certain she belongs in that house instead, Luna edges closer to crossing a line—convinced the life she wants was never meant to be Sadie’s at all
Many thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the ARC
If you're HUNTING for a riveting popcorn thriller featuring a compulsive online shopper and an unhinged delivery driver with no brakes, this HUNT FAMILY book is for you.
➡️ Was the book's storyline high art? No.
➡️ Was it realistic? Some parts were. (But not too many!)
➡️ Will Daniel Hurst fans enjoy this book as much as I did? Absolutely.
➡️ Was I repeatedly asking myself "How well do I really know my Amazon delivery driver?" Yes.
➡️ Were there plot holes and a cliff-hanger ending? Yes. But isn't that what sequels are for?
➡️ Will I be listening to "THE HUNT FAMILY, Book 2"? YES!!!!!!!
I listened to the audiobook, expertly narrated by Helen Keeley and Clare Corbett.
The story unfolded from two POVs, and both narrators gave outstanding performances.
This was addictive from the very first chapter. The dual POV between Luna and Sadie immediately hooked me, and I flew through it in just a few sittings.
Luna is one of those characters who should be easy to hate. She’s manipulative, obsessive, and completely unhinged at times; and yet, I didn’t hate her. I was more stunned by her. There’s something unsettling about how convincingly she justifies her actions to herself. You don’t root for her, but you also can’t look away. I completely underestimated her, and that’s part of what made this such a fast paced read.
The alternating perspectives create constant tension. Seeing both sides of the story builds that creeping sense that something is about to explode, and when the twists come, they feel earned rather than random.
This isn’t a deeply emotional read; it’s a sharp, fast paced psychological thriller that thrives on obsession, deception, and moral gray areas. If you enjoy short chapters, dual POV, and characters who blur the line between villain and antihero, this one absolutely delivers.
A solid, gripping thriller that kept me hooked until the final pages.
Daniel Hurst has truly outdone himself with I Want Your Family — this is his best book to date! From the very first chapter, the tension is sky-high and it never lets up. Every twist, every shocking revelation, every jaw-dropping moment he could possibly throw into a thriller… he did. I kept thinking I’d read “just one more chapter,” and suddenly it was hours later. I simply could not put it down. And poor Luna! My heart was in my throat the entire time. The emotional stakes felt just as powerful as the suspense, which made the story even more gripping. This was a wild, addictive ride packed with drama, secrets, and nonstop tension. If you love psychological thrillers that keep you glued to the pages, this one is an absolute must-read. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this early release. You won’t have to wait long - it comes out February 20, 2026 and I see book #2 and #3 are right behind it!!! Holy cow, what more can happen????????
PS this is book #51 I’ve read of his so yes, I’m a HUGE fan of Daniel!!!!
Unpopular opinion, but I didn't love this book as much as other readers did. Told from the alternating viewpoints of Sadie and Luna, I felt that both characters were unlikeable so I had no one to root for. Sadie's character was underdeveloped, a one-dimensional classic victim. Luna was totally unhinged, and much of her diabolical behavior was presented after the fact as she attempted to justify her thoughts and actions. It all became pretty unbelievable as the story unfolded, and the twists were not particularly shocking. Maybe my expectations were too high after reading all the rave reviews, but I just didn't find the book to be as compelling as others by this author. Will I read the sequel? Probably...
3 ⭐️- Ugh, I’m going to get so much hate for this and I’m sorry but this book just wasn’t it 🫣. I read so many reviews and am a fan of Daniel Hurst and his twists that I just had to read it. Unfortunately, it felt very boring to me. I wasn’t sucked in. Parts felt verrryyyy drawn out and I started skimming to just get the book over with. I also didn’t feel like there were that many twists and I think that’s what I was hoping for.
Is Luna absolutely bat crap crazy, oh for sure! She started to make me feel crazy. It goes to show what a determined woman will do to get what she wants. I think I’m the only odd man out when it comes to the hype for this book. Just because I didn’t like it doesn’t mean you won’t, so go head and give it a try! On to the next Daniel Hurst book 😉
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I Want Your Family is a twisted thriller as only Daniel Hurst can write them! Sadie, Reid, and their 2 kids had the perfect life for a while until someone saw an opportunity to take that family for themselves. That person is Luna and she knew the family inside and out because she was their delivery driver and they got lots of deliveries! Luna sees an opportunity to have everything she's ever wanted if only she could get rid of Sadie! What lengths will Luna go to in order to make Sadie go away? Will Reid fall for Luna if Sadie is out of the picture? What is Luna hiding? Will Sadie find a way to get her family back? I read this book in one sitting and it is juicy! You won't be able to put It down once you start reading, so be prepared for that! I Want Your Family is book 1 in The Hunt Family series and I can't wait for book 2! I Want Your Family is an intense thriller with twists at every turn and I rate it 4 stars with a high recommendation. I'd like to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy of I Want Your Family in exchange for a fair review. #IWantYourFamily
I went into this book without any expectation, since I had never heard of the author before. I didn’t know his writing style and the tone he uses, but the description of the book really got me, and honestly I was pleasantly surprised by it.
The story is told through two perspectives, Luna and Sadie, which made it immediately more interesting to me. I absolutely love dual POV when it’s done well. In this case, it really worked. Giving us a peek in two different minds gave the story depth and contrast, and I genuinely enjoyed being able to see both of their motives.
From the beginning, it becomes clear that Luna is struggling mentally. Her thoughts are disturbing and intense and yet I still found myself feeling some kind of compassion for this woman. 🥹 Even when her thoughts were creepy as fuck, I mean: who does this kind of shit to other people? Lol. And yet, her past made her behavior feel real, human, and believable.
What I loved most was how both perspectives offered completely different emotional insights. It felt intimate, almost intrusive at times, in the best way.
However… the final quarter of the book didn’t fully work for me. The pacing in the book suddenly shifted, and everything felt kinda rushed to me. The story changed direction very quickly, and I found myself missing that real thriller vibe I normally enjoy. The twist just wasn't there.
That said, I am genuinely curious whether this ending is meant as a setup for a sequel. If it is, I would honestly love that. I really do want to know what happens next, and I’d be so interested to see where the story and these characters go from here.
What worked for me: 🧠 Dual POV (Luna & Sadie) | added depth and tension to the story 👁️ A fascinating look into two very different minds 🖤 Luna as a character | unsettling and complex 🩶 Her backstory made her behavior feel realistic and human 📖 An engaging and easy-to-read writing style 🌑 A consistently eerie psychological atmosphere
What didn’t fully work for me: ⏳ The pacing in the final quarter | it suddenly felt rushed 🔓 The open ending | I missed a sense of closure 🌀 Not quite enough of a “thriller twist” for me
-
✨ Final thoughts: This was a very entertaining read with a lot of potential. I absolutely enjoyed the psychological layers, the characters, and the structure. And yet, the ending led to making this a 3-star read for me instead of a 4.
Still, if this turns into a series, I’d so be curious to continue. because I do want to know what happens to these characters next.
How happy I was when I came across a book by one of my favourite authors at the top of my to-be-read pile. He writes the kind of books that make you settle in comfortably and hope you won’t be disturbed too much, because you simply don’t feel like putting the book down. Not even for a few minutes — unless it’s absolutely necessary — until you’ve completely devoured it.
Once again, I thoroughly enjoyed the clever plans and schemes devised by the main character, Luna were sublime. It just goes to show what people are capable of when they have a specific goal in mind.
Maybe you shouldn’t admire a villain, but I still found myself feeling a certain admiration for this character’s boldness and cunning.
Don’t get me wrong: I truly thought this was a fantastic book, but I read the final chapter with great anticipation and was left feeling just a little bit unsatisfied. It felt a bit like waking up on Christmas morning and not finding exactly what you hoped for under the tree.
That said, I really enjoyed the story and all its twists and turns, and I happily give it 4.5 stars.
In classic Author Daniel Hurst style, “I Want Your Family” is a suspenseful psychological thriller you won’t easily put down!
She’s delivers your parcels, she seems nice enough but she “Wants YOUR perfect Family”, the house, the husband, the kids, she wants it all! This novel takes you along as Luna’s twisted and sick ideas gets her what she really wants, to get rid of Sadie and to be the next Mrs. Hunt. Luna’s watching and listening as this suburban family faces deceit, lies and tragedy waiting for her moment! Obsessive! Dark secrets! Stalking!
But, the ending ?!, “ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!! THEN I saw it was Book #1 (Explains so much), kind of the way episodes of Fear Factor and Survivor leave you hanging! If you’re looking for a series, this is it!
What I liked: The depth of suspense, the anticipation and shock of Luna’s sick mind and the jaw dropping moments. I appreciate its fast pace and obsessive prose.
My challenges: A few things seemed far fetched and happened too quickly. I wasn’t expecting the ending because I didn’t know it was a series.
Will I read Daniel Hurst again, absolutely yes! I’ve read “The Perfect Nurse” and “The Nurse’s Mistake” and I recommend both along with this read, you have to decide for yourself!
Thanks to @danielhurstbooks @bookouture @netgalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest review
I Want Your Family by Daniel hurst is about Luna she is obsessed with Reed but Reed has two children and a wife and a mistress. Is this a problem for Luna… Not at all with a few work around Luna does her best to get her way while in the interim The wife Sophie‘s life is falling apart not as much as his mistress Sadie but still I wouldn’t want to be either one of them. I love Daniel hurst books but sadly this one just basically ended no retribution no redemption and I know there’s plans for a second book something I am definitely investing in I don’t think I have ever rated a book by DH so low but I am used to thrillers being wrapped up in a sense by the end and that was not the case with this book. Having said that it was still interesting and a book that keeps you turning the pages, I just thought there would be some kind of come to Jesus moment in the end hopefully we’ll see that in the next book. I still would recommend this if you like a series because that is definitely what this one has to be to have all the questions from book one answered. I do want to be clear this isn’t a cliffhanger but the way it ends almost seems like a precursor to the ending but it is still an ending. #NetGalley, #TheBlindReviewer, #MyHonestReview,
Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I am a fan of Daniel Hurst. I like his writing style , intrigue and suspense in his books. But I am sorry to say I Want Your Family was a big miss for me. It started out interesting. Told by dual POV with characters you will hate, love and pity. But this didn't fell like a psychological thriller. It was more of a confession of a pyscho. It began far fetched, unbelievable. But I reminded myself it' is fiction and kept reading. Then it ended. No closure. It felt like the author got tired of writing and said the end. Hopefully there is a sequel coming soon.
2.8/5 emm. como q no hay ningún momento de riesgo ni tension, o de plot twist... y siento que esas sensaciones son las básicas que debería evocar un thriller... bastante llevadero igual pero meh
Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Daniel Hurst for this arc read!
Luna, a delivery driver, is obsessed with Reid and hatches a plan for him to leave his wife and be with her. Luna manages to learn a lot about the family from delivering parcels daily to Sadie, Reid’s wife and when she senses all is not perfect in their marriage- she sees her chance to make Reid hers and she will stop at nothing to get what she wants!
I love everything Daniel Hurst writes and this did not disappoint! Fast-paced thriller

Wow — I absolutely flew through this book! 🚀 Daniel Hurst is a master at pulling readers straight into a twisty, addictive thriller, and this one definitely did NOT disappoint 😱🔥
The story centres around Sadie Hunt, who seems to have it all — a loving husband, two children, and a beautiful home 🏡✨ The perfect life… right?
Wrong. 👀
Enter Luna — a delivery driver who isn’t just dropping off packages 📦… she’s delivering obsession. She wants Sadie’s life. Her home. Her family. And she’s determined to take it 😬🖤
The pacing was super fast, keeping me hooked from start to finish. The character development was strong, the plot was gripping, and the twists kept me turning pages late into the night 🌙📖 Every piece fit together so cleverly!
And the best part? It’s Book 1 in a series!!! 🙌🎉 I am SO excited to see what happens next!
I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves a tense, twist-filled psychological thriller 🔪🧠
When I heard Daniel Hurst was starting a new series about the Hunt family, I didn’t hesitate to pick it up. I started it yesterday and finished it this morning — it’s fast-paced and easy to get through, which is something I’ve come to expect from his domestic thrillers.
The novel follows Sadie Hunt and her seemingly perfect family. On the surface, she has everything, though her online shopping addiction hints that all may not be well beneath the façade. The question is: how perfect is this family, really?
We’re also introduced to Luna, a delivery driver who frequently brings packages to the Hunts. However, Luna’s interest in the family goes far beyond her job. She wants to be part of their world — no matter the cost.
While I enjoyed the pacing and suspense, I found some elements slightly predictable. Still, it was an entertaining and engaging read overall. Happy reading!
I Want Your Family is a dual POV, fast paced, domestic thriller, and I was really invested in the story and characters. That being said I feel like there wasn’t a single twist in this one and the ending felt open ended and left me wanting more. It’s a decent read overall I just prefer my thrillers more twisty
A great read from Daniel Hurst! The first half was a little slow but it really picked up and I found myself flying through the pages. The story felt so believable and kept me hooked right to the end, which left me on cliff hanger! Can't wait to see what happens in the next book.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
This book had me on the edge of my seat throughout. Wondering what Luna was going to do next. Definitely recommend this book for any thriller lover Going straight onto book 2 Thanks Netgalley for letting me read this book for an honest review
Ahhhh how i love Daniel's writing so much! The double point of view is a very nice way to understand both of them. I can't wait to read the following book!
I loved the dual POV—it kept me intrigued and entertained throughout. Seeing both sides of the story unfold was so interesting. I couldn’t put this book down. A very entertaining read!
I did enjoy this one, it was fast paced and easy to follow. It did feel very rushed towards the end and the storyline was a little far fetched but overall not a bad read.

I’m only at 35% and I’m getting bored with this family stealing woman. Between the first time she tried this plan and the current one, I’ve almost had enough. Never mind to think this might continue in upcoming books 2&3. I’ll hang around for a little while longer So disappointed. I think I need to step away from Mr. Hurst because his books are too inconsistent for me !!!
!!!!!! WAIT AT LEAST ONE MONTH TO BUY FUTURE BOOKS !!!!!! Bought a new book on 9/24/25 for $3.99 then went on sale 10/3/25 for $.99 !!!!!!
I Want Your Family by Daniel Hurst is a fast-paced psychological thriller that immediately pulls you in with its chilling premise: a seemingly perfect family observed by someone who wants to take it all for herself. The concept alone is gripping, and Hurst does a great job of creating that uneasy feeling from the very first chapter.
The story follows a delivery driver who becomes obsessed with Sadie Hunt’s seemingly perfect life—her beautiful home, her attentive husband Reid, and their two children. Watching from the outside, she convinces herself that Sadie doesn’t deserve any of it… and that she does. The tension builds steadily as we see just how far she is willing to go to make that fantasy a reality.
I was genuinely invested in this story. It’s one of those books that makes you want to keep turning the pages because you need to know what’s coming next. The shifting perspectives and mounting paranoia kept things entertaining, and I found myself curious about how everything would unravel. However, while the book was undeniably engaging, I was ultimately left feeling somewhat unsatisfied. There were a few plot holes that, in my opinion, were never fully addressed or resolved. Certain character motivations and developments felt either rushed or underexplored, which made some of the few twists less impactful than they could have been.
The ending, in particular, felt abrupt and open-ended. While I understand that some readers enjoy ambiguous conclusions, I personally prefer a bit more closure—especially after such an intense buildup. It seemed like the story was racing toward the finish line, leaving loose threads behind rather than tying them together.
Overall, I Want Your Family is an entertaining and suspenseful read that succeeds in creating tension and intrigue. Even though I had issues with unresolved plot points and a rushed ending, I was still hooked throughout the journey. If you enjoy quick, domestic thrillers and don’t mind a slightly open-ended conclusion, this one may be worth picking up. **Thank You NetGalley & Bookouture for this ARC in exchange for my honest review**
I recently joined NetGalley in hopes of starting this journey as a novice reviewer. As I was looking through titles that were available to request, I came across *I Want Your Family*. Instantly the title of this book grabbed my attention. This book follows two characters narrating their stories. Sadie, who is a wife and mother of two, definitely has a purchasing problem which is how we are introduced to the other main character, Luna. She is a delivery driver who ends up bringing all of Sadie's packages to her basically every day. Luna uses this opportunity to take advantage and I can only imagine every time she stops by Sadie's home she is thinking, I want your family.
I thought that the characters of this story are very well fleshed out. Not only do we get a good look into the lives of each of our characters, we can see the motives and logic behind each of their actions. I felt that for the most part even when I didn’t agree with a character’s actions, I could at least understand why they were doing the action in question. Where I felt let down was the beginning of the book. To be honest the writing in the beginning didn’t feel as strong as it did toward the middle of the book. It didn’t start to pick up until we got more into Sadie and her parents’ part of the story. Also I unfortunately felt completely let down by the ending. As I approached the final chapters of the book, I had a feeling creep up that the story was going to feel incomplete to me and that is exactly what happened.
I did find this book a fun, easy read, but I don’t think it’s for everyone. If it sounds like the type of book you’d enjoy, I think you will at least find it entertaining, but outside of mystery/thriller seekers, you may have a harder time enjoying this book.
Daniel Hurst truly understands how to crawl inside the mind of obsession—and make you uncomfortably at home there.
I Want Your Family is a chilling, slow-burn psychological thriller that peels back the glossy exterior of suburbia to reveal rot underneath. From the very first chapter, we’re placed squarely inside the mind of a woman who believes she deserves someone else’s life. Not just their husband. Not just their house. Their entire family.
What makes this story so unsettling isn’t just the obsession—it’s the rationalization. The delivery driver (whose perspective drives much of the tension) doesn’t see herself as dangerous. She sees herself as deserving. She studies Sadie’s life like it’s a blueprint she’s meant to step into. Every glance from Reid becomes evidence. Every crack in Sadie’s marriage becomes justification. It’s delusion wrapped in calm logic, and that’s what makes it terrifying.
But Hurst doesn’t stop at one unreliable lens. As secrets unravel, the “perfect family” façade fractures in surprising ways. Sadie isn’t as polished as she seems. Reid isn’t quite the flawless provider. And the more we learn, the more the lines between victim and villain blur. The pacing is sharp and deliberate, building tension through quiet interactions rather than explosive drama—until it hits you with twists that force you to reassess everything.
The suburban setting feels claustrophobic in the best way. That bright yellow door becomes symbolic—cheerful on the outside, hiding something far darker within. And the domestic details—the packages, the windows, the routine—create a chilling realism that lingers long after the final page.
If you love thrillers that explore obsession, envy, and the dangerous fantasy of “if only I had her life,” this one absolutely delivers. It’s compulsive, unsettling, and deliciously twisted.
I was lucky enough to read this one early, and I’m thrilled to share my honest review.
