Black-tie Murder is an awesome start to a new series starring a former special ops operative and a very cute French bulldog! Being a server at black tie events is definitely a career change for Jack. At a banquet to celebrate a new high rise, the lead architect is murdered. It seems you can take the man out of the life but it follows him anyway. A dog is thrust upon Jack and he discovers she calms his PTSD. AS this unlikely pair investigate the murder, Jack uncovers many suspects, possible motives and some red herrings. I guessed none of it and was increasingly invested in this well plotted mystery. I could not put it down, have fallen in love with Stella and am eagerly awaiting book two!

Jack previously known as Revenant was busy at a function working as a server when a murder takes place . Becoming a suspect was not ideal so Jack puts his hands to go after the truth. Lots of suspense and suspects. An intriguing read . I received this ARC copy via Booksprouts and leave a voluntary review. I recommend this book to other readers.

A good and humorous mystery.

Jack and his new dog Stella investigate a murder and discover it isn't a simple murder mystery. There are twists in the plot. Jack and Stella become very fond of each other. This story has danger , action , and humor. It is well-written. I will be reading this series.

This was fun to read! Stella seems to be such an intelligent companion. I loved that she was able to be sneaky and surprise Jack repeatedly. I also did not figure out the murderer before the reveal. I greatly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading the next one!
