When Jasmine Miller decides she’s ready to experience life outside of New York, a travel nursing gig in Atlanta seems like the perfect move—new city, new money, new men. What she doesn’t expect is the nonstop chaos of Peachtree Memorial Hospital—she’s on the verge of burning out, so love’s the last thing on her radar.
Cash “Money” Banks is the king of Atlanta. Everyone knows his name—or they used to. When money starts going missing, and dirty product starts flooding the streets, Cash realizes people may have forgotten who he really is.
Their worlds briefly collide after an attempt on his life lands him in the ER under Jasmine’s care. And when they meet again a few months later, the spark between them is too strong to ignore. Jasmine swears she won’t fall for another man tied to the streets, but Cash’s done living without something real.
When a ghost from Jasmine’s past resurfaces, lines blur, loyalties get tested, and their love becomes the most dangerous game of all.
Ok Mrs. Taylor with the amazing debut! This book gave me everything I love: steamy romances, hood classic vibes, unhinged levels of brutality. I didn’t see the plot being played out the way it did. I figured out early on who the ops was but I didn’t see the twist and turns that came along with the ride. I pray that she continues to write and I’m definitely a fan.
Ooh baby, this was a WHIRLWIND romance and I loved every second of it!! 🥰 Jas is the nurse who saved Cash’s life and keeps running into him after his stay. He’s everything she’s been avoiding wrapped in an addictive package…and I mean, what’s a girl to do? Exactly what Jas did 🤣🤣
I very much enjoyed this book!! It was funny, had GREAT side characters, and was easy to read! Add this to your TBR FASHOOOOO bookies 🫶🏾
I loved that Cash stood on business I just didn’t like that Jasmine had no sense of accountability. She’d be dead wrong but try to flip it. Or her being 30 plus acting like a teenager.
I don’t typically read new authors, but based on comments and recommendations, I decided to give this book a try. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed. The FMC, who is supposed to be in her mid-30s, has the mindset of someone in their early 20s, which made her incredibly frustrating to read. I honestly think the story would have worked better if the author had written her as a twenty-something instead.
Cash was far more invested in Jas than she was in him — he did all the chasing and apologizing, even when half the situation wasn’t his fault. Because of this, I have no interest in reading about the other characters, as they all seem just as immature, especially Monica 🙄.
4.5⭐️First let me say, this does not give debut author at all. This book had a good plot, great pacing, and characters that you love and absolutely hate. It was funny, a lil spicy, and definitely frustrating at times. One of my favorite tropes is when a MMC locks eyes with the FMC and immediately says “That’s my wife” BUT the FMC refuses to give him the time of day🤣You always know there will be shenanigans that follow and there indeed were. I loved Cash & Jasmine. Their chemistry was palpable and their banter, top tier. He frustrated me though with his lack of communication at one point and she blew me at one point for not using her big girl brain/intuition when it came to a certain character. Showing how dumb we can be when it comes to leading with emotions. But with that I still loved both characters which is a sign of good writing!
Books with more than 2-3 POVs sometimes gives me pause because it feels like filler, and that we didn’t need to know all of these side character’s thoughts. But here it was well done and gave just enough to leave you wanting a whole other book for them 🤣
I’m excited to see what else comes from this author.
I’m a little torn about if this is 3 or 4 stars. It started off strong.. I was blowing through, having a good ol time but there were two things that had me super irked and ready to break my kindle! Neither “thing” was big and probably wouldn’t bother a lot of people so absolutely not a reason not to read!
Nowwwww with that being said I still really enjoyed the book and would recommend. I think this is a debut and my girl definitely came out swinging. The book was a messy good time, always had something happening, something to turn the next page for. I would definitely recommend going along for the ride if you enjoy urban romances full of carrying on!
Lived for Cash and Jasmine! I also loved how Jasmine bowed for no man.! You were gonna hear her mouth. She did not care. The scene with Cash and the brass knuckles?! >>>>>>>
I love a FMC who doesn't mind putting her hands on someone.... especially when they disrespect her. And Jasmine is that!
Cash is... a menace. And he loves him some Jasmine.
Once they both got over their egos, they were so cute together! I can't wait for the next book!
Oh miss mamas u def ate this up as your debut book. This was supposed to be a week longer read for me pacing myself with this challenge I’m participating in (read 10 pages a day) but I was HOOKED from the first line. Effed around and finished the book in 2 days. The story progression was beautifully written. The depiction of the protagonist and antagonist *chef’s kiss*. I was clutching my pearls the entire read. Ready for book 2. A job well done!
The only thing that gets my attention faster than a woman avoiding dating is a man pressed to date her 🤭
Jasmine was quite literally minding her business when Cash burst into her life and her ER on a gurney. Along with his medical team, Jasmine toils over him and his life is spared. Just another day at the office when you're a hospital nurse in a bustling major city. When she runs into Cash in the wild, she can admit he's wildly attractive. Hell, she knew he was gorgeous when she first saw him all those months ago.
When Cash lays eyes on Jasmine, he's immediately drawn to her. He's the de facto king of Atlanta- no one he wants is out of his reach. But Jasmine is giving him a run for his money and... he's enjoying the chase. Cash sets about locking Jasmine down and is unpleasantly surprised to then discovers that Jasmine's past is tangled with some of his very present problems.
This book has action, great banter, spicy interludes, and a great cast of characters. Don't miss out!
This started out pretty good. ATP there isn’t a lot to be expected from urban fiction, it’s pretty much the same story every time. With that being said this story did start off good. My problem was all the unnecessary gun toting, and when she got to the ages I was done. These are damn near 40 year olds still being SN. Too old to be doing half the stuff they are. The FC’s are super childish to be in their mid 30s. Yea the ages through the whole story line off for me. And there really was no connection outside of the sexual chemistry. I almost wanted to stop reading when she leaned in to kiss him while he was in a coma. That was so weird to me. Made me not like her character and then she just got worse as time went on.
💚 highlights and bright spots: 1. i love the way roxanne writes. the imagery is vivid and colorful. when she described cash and jas’ lunch date at marlene’s, i could see the green and white checkered awning over the door and the hand-painted sign in the window. i could smell the fried chicken and yams. the clothing choices, perfumes, hairstyles… all beautifully depicted. 2. i love how cash and jelani speak of their parents. i see how cash honors his parents’ love by loving jas well. cash knew from the moment he saw jas that he wanted to be with her, and he stopped at nothing to make it happen. 3. jas and monica have a beautiful friendship, and i love seeing that in Black stories. i enjoyed seeing varying types of love throughout this story: romantic, platonic, familial, occupational.
💛 what didn’t quite land: 1. jas choosing to call her ex instead of cash in that scene. you know what i’m talking about. 2. jelani and monica are tap dancing on my nerves, and it’s mostly him. i really want to know who he was caking with in that bathroom, because what‽ 3. where is jas’ ex’s family at the end of the story? did princess and her lying ass just disappear? they were too quiet for my comfort and i would hate to see them pop up in book two.
💚 what i wished for: while i wasn’t expecting the main characters to be discussing aarp, i was hoping to experience more seasoned decision-making. jas, love her down, made some choices that i didn’t really understand coming from a woman with life experience. i wanted to see her asking more questions and digging a little deeper, especially as it concerned her ex.
💚 overall thoughts: this was a solid debut by roxanne taylor. i was intrigued enough to want to know more about the supporting cast members. the writing and editing are some of the best i’ve seen in recent years, and that alone has me ready and waiting for the second installment.

I rate this book a solid 3 stars. It wasn't bad but I struggled to finish it. I put the book down plenty of times. I'm trying to figure out what made it difficult to read and I think it's the flow and pace of the story. The way it was put together. It was well-written but I couldn't connect to any of the characters to be invested enough.
I loved the action scenes with Marcus when he kidnapped Jasmine and when CJ assisted Cash to rescue her with his motorcycle crew. I was heavily invested in that part because I wanted to know what would happen next.
I was even curious about Fontaine and Nairobi's relationship. Because the main characters just didn't do it for me. Neither did Jelani and Monica. There weren't enough scenes with them for me to care about their on and off relationship.
The spicy scenes were okay. It wasn't overdone and didn't overshadow the storyline so I appreciated that.
Did Jasmine get the marriage annulled? What happened to Amber? If Jasmine was still married to Marcus, wouldn't she be expected to be at his funeral?
And the ending wasn't really convincing when somehow Cash had time to meet Jasmine's dad to ask for his blessings. It felt like a lot was packed in a short storyline.
For her first book Roxanne did a great job. I'm curious to see what she'll write next and hopefully she'll get some arc readers to help with the pacing and making her characters much more engaging and dynamic. Other than that it was a good read.
For this to be Roxanne’s first book release…such a great read!
Well written, kept me entertained and the drama was drama-ing.
I love me some Cash Maurice Banks! (I saw what you did there Roxy!😜). What I loved even more was the banter between Delani and Jasmine. The scene where she started screaming, “I’m so tired!!!” had me cracking up because his reaction was one of utter shock. She was not playing with Lani.
I do love how much Cash stood on business. He didn’t play with or about Jasmine at all. Monica didn’t either.
What I didn’t like…was Marcus! I’m mad that Jasmine let him play her. Why didn’t she listen to Cash and her discernment? The girl was a mess for a bit but hey…it created a turn of events. 🤷🏾♀️
Jasmine’s best friend Monica was a hoot. But that NY bestie…yeah she so sketchy to me. Sorry, not sorry! She handled the Marcus situation so wrong in my opinion. Some bestie she was. I WOULDA CALLED IN THE ENTIRE CALVARY BEHIND MY BESTIE!
Anyhoo, so proud of you Roxanne! You did amazing! Hoping this is a series. I need more of Lani & Monica and Nairobi and Fontaine! Whew baby!
Y’ALL!!!! I was a beta reader for this book and thought it was amazing and when she finally published it I made sure to buy it because I loved the story. We love a man like Cash who has women falling at his feet having to put in work for once. He was strategic and was ready to risk it all. I love a MMC who has moments where he’s unhinged.
ALSO, I’m not here for the Jasmine slander because she’s a great time a little naive…eh maybe BUT she ain’t with the bullshit. Besides, if we’re being real we all gotta friend like Jas who is a little messy in the love department but you love to hear the stories because we listen and we don’t judge. If you’re thinking to yourself I don’t keep girls around me like that make sure you aren’t that friend lmao. But, seriously I appreciated her character because she did remind me of people I grew up around and made the story relatable.
Story flowed and made me want a prequel for Cash’s parents story and I can’t wait for Bear & Kitten’s story because that’s gonna be a gooooood one! Also, the secondary characters were fun I wouldn’t mind seeing Lani and Mo intertwined throughout the next book. For a debut novel she didn’t miss.
Whew child, when I say this was a whirlwind love, romance, comedy, pack with drama, and action, and oh let’s not forget the saucy and spiciness of this book, thats what I meant. This book gave out all the feels and kept my attention from page 1.
Lil bit about this book is that Jas was Cash’s nurse who got him into surgery quicker when he was shot by someone who wanted him dead (basically saving the mans life) and they keep running into each other, and despite what Jas’s mind tells her about Cash, she still finds herself intertwined with him and fascinated by the charming man. OMG!!, y’all know what? just go read the book, and if you are already in the middle of a couple books, please, please, please, put this on your TBR. You will not regret it.
Jasmine, a traveling nurse from New York was currently assigned to a busy ER hospital in Atlanta. While on duty she met Cash, who had been shot and his crazy brother Jehlani who had pulled out a gun on her. A night out with her friend Monica helped to take her mind off the craziness at the hospital and she ended up seeing Cash again, but healthy this time. He was instantly attracted to her and started applying pressure since. Jasmine kind of was playing games and ended up seeing her ex Marcus, who had been released from prison and in town to claim her back, as he still thought she was his.. and also to try and take over Cash’s territory underhandedly. Marcus was crazy and ended up kidnapping her, but Cash went all out to get her back safely.. Monica and Lani attempt a relationship as well. It’s alot of messiness going on, but I enjoyed
Cash Rules Everything was an amazing read. This book is a real example of how a man is supposed to love and value a woman, no matter his status, power, or background. Cash shows that when a man truly cares, he moves with urgency, protects you, and makes you a priority, and that message really stood out to me.
The story is very well written, and the characters feel real and relatable. The plot keeps you engaged, and the romance is intense but meaningful. I was completely hooked from the beginning and finished the book in just two days because I couldn’t put it down.
Overall, this is a must-read for anyone who loves urban romance with strong characters, emotional depth, and a powerful love story. I highly recommend it!
Jasmine is a travel nurse living a regular life until Cash “Big Money” Banks knocks her off her square when he winds up in her ER. She’s drawn to him in a way that’s undeniable, and this is before he’s even awake. Time moves on and the two finally meet and the feeling is mutual. Of course this wouldn’t be much of a story if everyone lived happily ever after from there. There’s lots of drama, lots of chasing, and lots of misunderstandings. And lots and lots of violence! But it was a fun, sexy, and swoon worthy ride.
I only had two issues with the book: 1) The writing could have been tighter. 2) The women were frustratingly immature at times.
I had a hell of a time with Cash and Jasmine! This story delivered the perfect mix of spice, an unhinged MMC, and drama. With a name like Cash, you just knew he was all about his money. Jasmine was all about her independence and her own grind and money but not in an annoying way. Cash didn’t play when it came to Jasmine; he knew from the moment he saw her that she was his. Their first meeting was unbelievable, but the chemistry and lust were instant when they run into each other. There were some really good supporting characters I’d love to see more of in future stories.
This story came with crazy ex’s, haters, drugs and violence. Perfect combo of romance and street life.
Can’t wait to see what comes next from Roxanne Taylor !
Jasmine Miller had me SKRESSSSED, 36 years old acting the way she was acting!! Her get back game was weak, but she kind of sort of redeemed herself. Cash, though? Meant business. That man was not playing about Jas at all. Protective, locked in, and standing ten toes down. But listen… Jelani stole the show for me. Baby got a few loose screws and shoots first, asks questions later. This was a new to me author, and whew… a time was definitely had with The Banks Brothers. The pacing was fast, but not reckless you still get enough character development to stay invested and connected. Overall, this one kept me on my toes and had me ready to see what’s next.
I’ve seen this float around social media and decided to give it a try. This being the debut book for this author I would say it was overall a solid urban story. As solid as it was there were things for me did not work in this story.
For me it began to lag when it came to the story around 60-65% into the book. The chemistry between our main characters felt one sided if I’m being completely honest. Cash was all in when it came to what he wanted from Jasmine and at times I was frustrated with how she handled situations. Solutions to problems that this crew were seemed like an easy fix being that Cash has all the money and resources to basically do what he wants in any city and he didn’t use it the any of them. The side characters while I enjoyed them at times their POV’s weren’t needed to me. I say this respectfully, had these characters not stated how old they were I would’ve gone on with the story thinking they were at least 10 years younger than what was stated.
Overall a solid story and I would still recommend this to other readers.
-I hate the love aspect of this book because I don’t believe that shit. -Hated that this nigga was just at a strip club rubbing a bitches feet he used to fuck and then finds his way to Jasmine’s house and puts those same hands on her face(I don’t know if he washed them. Probably didn’t because he a nigga). -they made no emotional connection whatsoever for me to believe that they were in love. -liked the Marcus and all Cash’s people being snakes part of the book. That was interesting and kept me invested. -the interest died as soon as he kidnapped her and too her back to New York. Lasted a lot longer than it should’ve

Someone recommended this book in a FB book group and I said let me give a try. Read/listened to this book in 1 day (barely got any work done lol) . It has everything I like in a book a lil bit of bang bang 🔫💪, a lil bit of 🌶️, a lil bit of the napping and rescue, a duh lulu ex, a tad bit unhinghed I don’t play about her MMC , strong independent boss FMC, and all the god feels of ❣️….. I can’t wait to see whys the next installment to the Banks Crew. Now go one and download this well put together read!
Author Roxanne Taylor, you did your thang on your debut book!!! The characters took me down a memory lane of my 20’s in the early 2000’s. Everything about this book had me re-living a certain chapter in life that I will always remember and love. I rooted for Jas and Cash, got excited for the heads Cash, Lani and they crew busted up, had me frustrated when things didn’t work out and had me pissed of at the hating, infatuated ex-boyfriend. I am so ready for the next book. Great Job again Roxanne!!!
I enjoyed reading this. Cash is a kingpin in Atlanta and Jasmine is a traveling nurse. These two first interact when jasmine treats his gunshot wounds. They don’t see each other til months later and cash is applying pressure. Jasmine was stressing me out. Too many points she was just doing nonsense. I had to curse her out. She put herself in danger for no good reason. Cash was my favorite. He was intentional and not about to let you play in his face. Overall I’d give it a 3.75/4⭐️. I believe this will be part of interconnected standalones. This does not end on a cliffhanger.
The story was good. My main issue was the FMC was too into herself and didn’t acknowledge her own faults. I almost put the book down when she was mad at Cash after she was hugging and giggling with Marcus. I am all for a woman who is strong and knows how to stand up for herself, however, growth is important in character development. She got away with too much reckless behavior and tantrums.
At the start of the story it started like every other urban story, so much so that I kept having to check back in my line of books to make sure I haven’t read this before. It seems this is a newer author and needs time to grow and develop her own writing style, even with that being said the story kept me engaged and wasn’t repetitive. I’m looking forward to reading more about the Banks Crew.
1.5⭐️ At the beginning of the book, I really like the storyline and I was totally into it. Then the author put in a scene that made no sense. It made me really dislike Jasmine. I think that the love really felt one-sided. Like Cash was all the way in and loving her and Jasmine was messy, selfish, and stupid. I really struggled with the rest of the book because I really disliked her. I can’t wait till the author comes out with Fontaine and Nairobi’s book.
