The audiobook (dramatized version) is a great listen with a full cast of characters! Full of action - this is the 1st in the series of Those Jensen Boys, twins, the nephews of Smoke Jensen (their father is Luke Jensen).
Drifters, they trouble is always around, but Jensen blood means they have a sense of justice and are willing to help the underdogs, particularly if they happen to be good looking sassy ladies.
Story with dramatized audio earns 5 stars.

The start of a new series featuring the twin sons of Luke Jensen, nephews to Smoke Jensen. Like their famous namesakes the tend to be magnets for trouble, but being good hearted they find themselves defending the innocent and dealing out six gun justice. Action packed western with likable characters and thrilling if cliched storyline.

We also know who the father of the twins is Luke Jensen, who doesn't know that he's a father. It's good to know that there were people who would take on raising infants as Ennis Monday aka "Doc,"
promised Lettie Margrabe, the mother, that he would take care of the boys and that's what he did.
Now Doc seems to be in a home or hospice for the old and sick. The twins haven't seen him in almost two years, occasionally they send money to help with his care. Wouldn't you think they would be more caring than what they show??
Such is life, right folks???
It's an interesting introduction to the twins and who their parents are and were. Unbeknownst to the twins, they met their Uncle Smoke Jensen. I guess later on down the road they get to meet Smoke..As they say, "one never knows."

A good book, but not written by William W. Johnstone. The book is written by his Nephew J.A. Johnstone, who seems to be wanting to gain some popularity by using his Uncle's name for some reason. William Johnstone was a great author unfortunately he passed away in 2004. J.A. Johnstone should use his own name.

excellent book
The book is great. Johnstone has another winner. I found myself tense and bothered by the story just as if I was in the situation myself. I love books that are good enough to make me feel like I was right with those people in the story. I read too get lost in the story. This book filled the bill.

Worth reading
I found this book ok but enough action for me. The story was ok, the characters were good, and the ending was good. I am going to continue with this series starting today.

Excellent Read
I could not put this book down,much to the chagrin of my husband. Strong characters and story line. Towards the end of the book a shocking twist, I did not see coming. So worth the read, excellent.

This is the third book I read by this author and, I must say, the best of the books. Instead of just shoot outs, this book has a story concerning stage coach mail, railroads and dirty dealing.

Fast fights, chases. Wandering heroes Ace and Chance meet villains and pretty sharpshooting sisters whose dad needs help with their stagecoach line. Surprises from a half-breed guard and mistress of their employer.

I've enjoyed the Jensen Boys as cameo's in other novels and this one was enjoyable and shed some light on their history. Amazing how the first book often does that. Nice to finally know their family history. The actors playing them I really enjoy as well. Wish there was more in Graphic Audio. I'm sure I'll go through them quickly.

First of a new series of the next generation of the Jensen family. Ace and Chance are fraternal twins, sons of Smoke Jensen's older brother Luke. He doesn't know of them and they presume him dead at this point, killed in the war. Their mother had died giving birth and they'd been raised by a game b let named "Doc" Monday.
The brothers get involved with the Corcoran family, a father and two daughters, owners of a stage wanted by a mine owner named Eagleton. They thwart an assault on the stage making a mail run between two towns.
A promising start for the new series.

Over all I enjoyed the book, it was a fast read, the story was not as good as this authors western/mountain men series. The teasers for this book made it sound like we would see more of "Smoke Jensen" than was indicated on the back cover. For me this one would not qualify for a second read which typically elevates a book on my life list to a 5 star rating.
I may try some of this authors other series.

I thought as usual a Johnstone book was very enjoyable and the only thing I wish was for Smoke Jensen to have a larger role. I kept looking for him to come in the story again later on but he never did. But the story was well orchestrated and I can't wait for later book s for. Him to find out he has sons. Just keep these boys from getting married for a while, so they can bring more exciting books later. Phil

I read this book some time ago. It is your typical Smoke Jensen oh sorry - scratch that - Jensen Story. Smoke does make an appearance.
New members of the Jensen family show up and this could be a fun series.
Yes we all know they are basically ''recipe'' books and you can predict what is going to happen next. But they are always quick reads and entertaining.
We need more western writers out there and should be happy that these books are being written.

Oh, those crazy Jensen Boys!
Ace and Chance come to the rescue of pretty ladies and honest gentleman. As they ride away it seems completely reasonable to expect we will encounter them again...a bit further down the trail. Let's hope so.

Another interesting story about the west and about the Jensen family. Seems they always turn out to be the good guys.

Not as good as many others I have read. Seemed to be very disjointed. Had a hard time staying focused.
