Marine biologist Ken Murphy can tell there is something wrong with the ocean environment off the coast of Rhode Island. His observations lead him to a conclusion that he cannot believe--and won't believe until it's too late! Along with his colleague, a Coast Guard helicopter pilot, and crazy old man on a rendezvous with death, Murphy sets out to confront the beast that has uprooted the world around him--the massive, once-thought extinct shark known to science as C. Megalodon! Hungry, terrifying and fearless, the Megalodon is here!
Very good read, believable storyline and realistic characters. Bought this not expecting the best,, but happily surprised. It's really a great book that I enjoyed,, not wanting to put it down.
Well written in terms of speed and characters, but please lose the hyphens and exclamation marks to convey excitement. That's achieved through words. The worst offense was the misplaced commas, improper use of "too", "loose", and unbelievable mistakes such as, "....a conspiracy he'd just assume forget about". "Just assume"?? ("Just AS SOON" is the correct expression). Was this translated from another language or edited by a non-native English speaker. I'm not trying to be facetious. It's an otherwise fun plot weighted down with distracting grammatical errors.
I really liked this book as it had all the excitement and thrills associated with a book about sharks. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it seemed to drag on at times. However, I would not mind a sequel at all as I really enjoyed the main characters. I also know if there is one megalodon out there then there is probably another one ready for action!
First time reader of Mr. Conley, and I am blown away. This book kept me turning the pages faster then I wanted to, because I knew that would mean this great ride would be over.
Mr. Conley needs to find a good editor. Grammar and sentence issues. Story was a good concept, but needs to work on character development especially the shark and Talbot.
