Margaret Edith Weis is an American fantasy and science fiction author of dozens of novels and short stories. At TSR, Inc., she teamed with Tracy Hickman to create the Dragonlance role-playing game (RPG) world. She is founding CEO and owner of Sovereign Press, Inc and Margaret Weis Productions, licensing several popular television and movie franchises to make RPG series in addition to their own.
In 1999, Pyramid magazine named Weis one of The Millennium's Most Influential Persons, saying she and Hickman are "basically responsible for the entire gaming fiction genre". In 2002, she was inducted into the Origins Hall of Fame in part for Dragonlance.

Feels like I'm reading a DND campaign which was fun. I found it surprisingly entertaining at points but it lulled from time to time.

My favourite all time series! I loved these books so much as-well as the following series. Every character is made with intention and purpose, they just don’t make true fantasy books like this anymore!

Interesting, easy read

The main theme reminds me a lot of The Lord of the Rings. I like how it is an easy reading level since I'm a slow reader to begin with. A chapter at a time was good for me.

Slow and often somewhat mean-spirited.

I like this book. It is a basic fantasy set up, but with better story telling.

Rereading this as an adult though, this story has SERIOUS pacing issues. Some severe lagging areas, some lack of dynamics and drive. It was actually a bit of a slog to read through 20 years later.
