Kendra has already paid for her past. After years in prison, she walks out promising herself a fresh start and a chance at redemption. But freedom is short-lived. Before she can even take the first breath of her new life, she is taken. Kidnapped by Hunter, a man who turned vengeance into an art form.
This was so good. Lots of twists and complexity. Quick pace. Anti-hero bad guy, just the way I like them. Lots of spice. The hero’s diction didn’t feel authentic to his background, coming across more Black urban, but still just a compelling story. It’s almost soap opera like, telenovela, Jackie Collins.
So far, this is by far my favorite story out of Katrina Si'Anns work. Hunter's Prey took me on an adventure like no other. I have a love-hate relationship with Hunter. Hunter is one of those complex characters where you never know who or what version of him you will get. He's a category 5 hurricane in human form. He's determined to fulfill the promise made of retribution, but his target is proving to be more difficult than he imagined. Kendra, the target, is a woman who you will determine weak when you first meet her. Don't let the meek make you assume she's the weak. She has a quiet strength and burns deep inside. It burns her opponent even when they aren't aware. She has an innocence that makes even the Don of the Mafia take a second look, and the deadliest of men alter their plans. Take a ride and find out if she meets dishonor or your honor.
This book was good, It has a lot of twists and plots. The characters are very entertaining I'm rooting for Kendra, I hope her crazy sister doesn't get away with her sick schemes. Violet is annoying at time get it togather girl and Franco I hope he sees through the tricks as well. Hopefully the next one is out real soon to continue.
Hunter’s Prey is a gripping, atmospheric installment that expands the author’s interconnected universe with confidence and intensity. Having followed the story across multiple platforms—Vella, Inkitt, and eventually Patreon—you can feel how the narrative grows richer and more layered with each release. This book doesn’t just continue a saga; it elevates it. One of its greatest strengths is the return of familiar characters from Harrison’s Harem and Political Gains. Their reappearance is seamless, adding depth and continuity without relying on prior knowledge to enjoy the experience. The writing itself is edgy, sharp, and unafraid to explore darker emotional terrain. That boldness gives the story its pulse. The author balances grit with vulnerability in a way that makes the characters feel raw and human, even when their circumstances are anything but ordinary. Overall, Hunter’s Prey is an addictive, darkly compelling read from a writer who continues to push boundaries and reward loyal readers. If you enjoy character-driven tension, moral complexity, and worlds that grow deeper with each book, this installment delivers on every front.
I’m loving the fast pace of the book lots of action, drama and loads of betrayals and not to mention family secrets can’t wait to start book 2 for the ish to hit the fan
These male characters do everything in the beginning to make you hate them. I followed this story on the authors patron/Inkitt page and anxiously awaited each entry
I knew this was a dark romance so I knew that I was in for some triggering subjects that set up Kendra and Melanie's background. Then the book provided a chaotic love/hate story that left me confused at times. It was honestly hard for me to care about Hunter. I get that Hunter was fighting feelings while trying to deal with a woman he believed had a part in killing his father and emotionally damaging his mother, but the hot and cold became annoying after awhile. I wish that authors of dark romances would not make their heroes unreasonably jealous over stupid stuff. The book also was a bit too long and tried to squeeze in too many other couplings for me to care about. Otherwise, I was entertained enough to say that this was a good 3 1/2 star read.
