A hidden map. A forbidden alliance. A treasure worth risking everything for.

Moira Hart would rather chase history than a husband, but when she discovers a secret map buried deep within Hartsmoor Castle, she’s thrust into a dangerous quest tied to her clan’s forgotten past—and their oldest rival. The treasure it promises may restore a legacy, but to uncover it, Moira must convince the one man least likely to help her.

Errol MacLeod has every reason to refuse Moira. Their clans have warred for years, and trusting a Hart has never brought anything but grief and anger. But when Moira arrives on MacLeod lands with determination in her eyes and danger at her heels, he can’t say no—even if it means betraying everything he’s ever believed.

Together, they journey deep into the Highlands, hunted by secrets, shadowed by enemies, and tangled in a passion neither can deny. But with loyalties tested and a hidden enemy closing in, the greatest risk may not be the treasure they seek…but the hearts they stand to lose.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this advanced copy via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I had previously read this author before and I have a soft spot for Scottish romances I call "kilt-rippers". Highland Treasure was a neat historical romance featuring feuding families and the search for hidden treasure. I love when the dialect is written phonetically and I can hear the brogue perfectly in me brain. The plot moved slowly at times, but I liked how Errol gradually softened his heart towards Moira as the book progressed. The excuse for the schism was a bit weak, but hey anything to claim forbidden romance, right? I would love to read more from the series and see what other shenanigans these Scots can dig up. Writing aside, the cover art was a bit odd. I've seen the man's face on at least three different covers and it was edited rather haphazardly. I mean I don't have those skills, but go off. This buried treasure may not have shivered me timbers, but it soothed my inner Goonie all the same.

Highland Treasure is a cozy, easy Scottish romance with a broody hero, a beautiful Highland setting, and one microtrope I will always be here for: only one bed.

And yes… that scene delivered. Forced proximity, tension, shared space—chef’s kiss. It was hands down my favorite part of the book and where I felt the strongest chemistry between the characters.

Overall, the story was enjoyable and comforting, but I did find myself wanting a little more emotional depth and connection. Some moments felt slightly rushed, and I didn’t fully fall in love with the romance the way I hoped. Still, the setting was immersive and the vibe was warm and escapist, making it a nice, low-stress read.

If you love Highland romances, forced proximity, and light romantic tension, this is a solid pick. A good 3-star read for me.

Until the next chapter 💫

Moira Hart has no interest in finding a husband. Instead, she’d much rather unravel history, and when she uncovers a secret map tied to her clans forgotten past, it sends her straight into enemy territory, and into the arms of Errol MacLeod. Together, they journey through the Highlands in search of a treasure that could change everything.🛡️ I flew through this one. The chapters moved quickly, and I was pulled in right away, to be honest, I do love anything that’s giving off Outlander vibes. Although some plot twists felt a bit predictable, it was an enjoyable, fast-paced and comforting reading a book that’s based in Scotland when you are from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 I do wish the story lingered a little longer, but only cause I read it too quick!! 🤓

The vibes - Old clan rivalries, hidden secrets, Scottish highlands, enemies to lovers, and a little bit of spice 🌶️

Tresure Hunt, Mysterious Villain, Delightful Romance
I truly enjoyed this exciting heartfelt story and the characters very much. I read this book in one day.
The plot is finding a hidden treasure which has the opportunity to change history between two feuding clans.
Moira a bit naïve and Errol the strong warrior who has longed for her from afar.
Their journey to discover clue after clue was exciting and the end was very rewarding in many ways
The romance with its slow simmering desire which grew stronger after finding each clue finally burst into flames which made a HEA ending in more than one way for two clans and a wonderful couple.
💞 Mature Advisory:🔥🔥/5
😲Outstanding Character: The Mysterious Villain which added mystery and terror to the story.
