When portals from another world split open the sky, humanity braces for war… only to discover the monsters from Erethar aren’t here to conquer. They need something from humans. Something oddly specific in order to survive.
And that's when the government begins recruiting for a ritual that sounds a lot like a cross-dimensional booty call.
Normally an exclusivity contract with a monster called Rathyn of the Dark Vale would be a hard pass, but the more time I spend with him, the more I realize there’s more to this whole monster/human thing than what the government is telling us.
I want to believe it’s nothing more than an arrangement, but the way he melts under my touch, and the way he’s constantly seeking more, makes me believe that maybe his fate is wrapped up in my own.
It’s no longer about what I can do for him. It's about what we mean to each other.
I’m Everest Hale, and I’m doing my part to save the world with my… Well, I’m not at liberty to discuss, but let’s just say it’s given with vigorous enthusiasm.
You’re welcome, Earth.
Suck is the first book in the MM Monster Romance series Feed and Feast. It contains a clueless human who’s just looking to do his duty for humanity, a naïve monster who has no idea how much humanity will change him, so much sucking, swooning, antagonists to lovers, cuddling as a love language, body piercings, secret romance, and a toe-curling happily ever after.
Cora Rose loves any kind of romance and consumes way too many books each year. She currently lives in the U.S. and spends her days daydreaming about the characters inside her head.

Was this super spicy? Absolutely. Was it also really sweet and funny? Yes. Am I dying for more of this series? Also yes.
I honestly wasn't sure what to expect going into this, but Ev and Rath's story sucked (no pun intended) me in from the very start! Absolutely need Dante and Cielo's story asappppp
𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗧: - monster + human - hurt x comfort - monster ween, obvi - sexual awakening - opposites attract - first times - LOTS of sucking - body piercings - monster world - power dynamics - high heat (goes without saying)
4.75⭐️ Oooh this is going to be a new fave series for me, I just know it! I LOVE the collabs with these authors. 😍
The premise of this book is a little over the top. I saw someone say it’s like Morning Glory Milking Farm meets Zercy, and I totally agree, but add in some great humour, a really fun cast of characters, and you get Suck!
This book follows Everest, who signs up to get “sucked” by one of the Vyastil monsters that have come through the portals and formed treaties with humans. There’s so much mystery about why the Vyastil need human…essence, but Everest is curious and keen to try. He’s paired with a slightly grumpy and presumptuous Vyastil commander called Rathyn. Once Rath gets a taste of Everest, everything changes.
This book has: -monster x human relationship with a special bond -fun monster anatomy and piercings -cool monster world and culture -great side characters -size difference -cool monster herbs that do special things 👀 -psychic bond -an outspoken human and a stoic monster that learns to love -hilarious misunderstandings and sweet connections between monsters / humans
I realllly enjoyed this book! It has a really interesting (and kind of crazy) premise, which obviously sucks you in (haha pun intended). As always, Lindsey and Rose will have you intrigued by not only the MCs, but the side characters as well. I can’t wait for book 2!
Tropes: hurt/comfort, forced proximity, size difference, human/monster, grumpy/sunshine Feels: 4/5 Steam*: 3.5/5 Kinks: sex toys, performance enhancing drugs, multiple orgasms, cock cages Angst: low HEA: HEA Pairing: MM Triggers/potential icks/content warnings/representation: past death of parents, hateful xenophobic and controlling guardians (Everest's aunt and uncle), war, slavery and paranormal oppressive political dynamics, kind of a third act break up Cheating between MCs: No Any cheating: No Other person drama: None. Rath's people don't have sex, he hadn't been with anyone. Everest had some experience with women.
4.5 stars
Everest is human and 21. When he was 15, his parents died during a pandemic, that almost took him out to. After that, his aunt and uncle took him in, but they are hateful and xenophobic people, and he didn't have a good few years until he turned 18 and could go out on his own. Shortly after his parents' deaths, monsters +the Vyastil) from another dimension came to Earth and they have made the world better with their technology but they have also come to an arrangement with the government where men between the ages of 21 and 60 who can produce semen are required to volunteer to feed the Vyastil their cum... Because the Vyastil need it for reasons they won't talk about. Everest has always been fascinated by the Vyastil, grateful for what they have done, and intrigued to donate and learn more about them. When he turns 21, he volunteers right away.
The first Vyastil Everest feeds blows his mind, and Rathyn becomes obsessed with Everest. He tries to bully and bribe Everest into coming back as quickly as possible for another go, and then he basically runs him to a courthouse to lock him in to an exclusive companion agreement, where Everest agrees to be his. Everest is a poor guy working at a hot dog stand at the mall with no other prospects, and this sounds lucrative and fun. They kind of get off on the wrong foot because of language and cultural differences, but they quickly develop a real deep connection, and they both crave and care so much for each other. But there's paranormal political s*** at play, that complicates their relationship.
I really enjoyed this book. On the surface, it's kind of wild and smutty, the premise of alien creatures needing to feed off of cum. But it's a great emotional story. Everest is a kind, curious, accepting guy who stands up for what is right. He warms up to Rathyn so quick and he starts a nice friendship with Cielo. Rathyn is a quiet, stoic intimidating guy who is such a softie for Everest. I love how everything is so new to Rathyn and he learns about affection and relationships from Everest and he so innocently takes pleasure from the small things and just soaks in affection. This book did a good job at showing us and not just telling us that the characters care about each other, we saw it in the small things, in the way that Rathyn's ears would flutter, the grip of his tail on Everest would tighten, he wouldn't let Everest let go of his hand, he would ask him to cuddle and ask for a kiss. And Everest was sensitive and vulnerable, touch starved for even platonic touches with Rathyn. It wasn't just about getting off. I liked that Everest was funny and snarky and would impulsively blurt out things. He wasn't intimidated by the Vyastil.
This book ended in a way that is kind of happy for now, but you know they are meant for each other. There's just a lot of political stuff that's getting in their way right now and they have some work to do. I'm intrigued by the other potential couples that have been set up. Cielo is a sweetheart and Dante sounds good for him. With regards to Zane, at first I wanted Everest to boot him out of his life for being a xenophobic ass, but he started to show a little bit of promise towards the end.
Some notable moments:
"He hums, the sound almost like a growling purr, and he glances from left to right. “Your job does not seem very important or necessary.” “Uh, first of all, fuck you. I feed people. Second of all, it’s very necessary to pay my bills so I can eat and have a place to live.” “I told you I would—” “No,” I say swiftly. God, I do not need some eavesdropping asshole at one of the other shops to hear this Vyastil telling me he wants to build me a goddamn shelter. Even if the idea of it makes my heart twist in my chest."
That poor driver was shook. "“When we arrive home,” Rathyn says, startling me out of my thoughts, “I would like to begin collecting on our contract. We have many orgasms to get through today.” “Oh, hell no. Fifteen orgasms in a few hours? You’re out of your mind.” The car swerves slightly, and I blush wildly. Oh my god, I should not say that out loud. It makes me seem like some kind of cum slut. Or blow job slut."
"I’m still pissed at Rathyn for disregarding my wishes and being overbearing, but by the way he’s sulking near the couch when I finally kick off my shoes and move to the kitchen for something to eat, I can’t help but feel a little sorry for him. He’s been shooting my crotch longing looks and making tiny, sad trills every time I look away. Maybe I’ll let him give me one blow job. Just one."
*FYI about steam: I rate steam based on a combination of quality & quantity. I note kink separate from steam because I don't want to underrate steamy reads that don't have much kink.
**Note about spoilers: I like to comment on the plot of a book in reviews, so I almost always mark my reviews as containing spoilers. But I try to avoid spoiling the big dramatic moments! As a reader, I personally like to know what I'm getting into before I read a book so I know more about the content and if it's to my taste/mood, so I try to give that information in my reviews for myself when I'm considering rereading and also for other readers.
The premise of this series is just incredible, I had an absolute blast describing it to my friends and family over and over again (much to their horror). Also, this cover is SO SO BEAUTIFUL.
I’ve seen it compared to some of these, but I described it to my sister as ‘Morning Glory Milking Farm’ meets ‘Zercy’ and I stand by that. If you liked either of those, you’re going to like this book. Who am I kidding? If you like smutty monster romance at all then this is for you. This series is 100% going straight into the monster romance hall of fame.
I got a bit frustrated at a few things happening around the 70% mark which kept me from rating this five stars, but I still absolutely loved it. I can’t even express how excited I am for the rest of the series. I was over the moon to discover that we can expect the next one later this year. Thank you so much Cora Rose and EM Lindsey for this absolute treat of a book.
Definitely interesting to see more of Everest and his monster 👀 I like how Everest was very curious but also not afraid to say what was on his mind too. Lol
I think this was nice little peek into this world and this series.
This was an interesting take on a monster x human romance and the unique nutrient the monsters needed from the humans made it even more intriguing. I enjoyed the political aspects in this. Typically, we see monsters versus humans and in this they were more cohesive with their ideology. Do I think it will last?! Probably not, but it will be interesting to see where this series takes us!
I liked the dynamic between Rath and Everest! Their push and pull was a good time. Cielo was so adorable and the friendship between him and Everest was sweet. I do wish we got a bit more information earlier in the book such as why Earth, how did they know exactly what was needed to negotiate terms, we learn why their human resources were needed but are they stockpiling for something to come and if so where or how is it stored in there system and if not why so much consumption. However, I’m aware these questions may be answered in the next book. I’m interested in getting my hands on book 2!
4,5 ⭐️ Fun-f*cking-tastic! Maybe, because Lily Mayne groomed me to love monster stories, I couldn’t skipped this one. Also this duo authors sure know how to keep you entertained. I very much enjoyed the cultural misunderstandings between humans and monsters, they were funny and endearing. Most of the story is told from Everest (the human) perspective, so when we get a little glimpse of what Rath’s side it was very interesting. Yeah it was super spicy, but for a first book of this series, the world building was solid and I have so many questions. Definitely going to read the next one.
Too much sex which understandable seeing as the plot is basically aliens needing cum, but the book was written in such a way that the most important parts of the plot happened at 70-80% of the book which then felt too rushed.
I came into this one pretty much blind and I absolutely loved it. Its very different and I can't wait for more from the series.
This is super spicy but its also very sweet while also showing the truths no one knows about. It gives fantastic start and introduces the two worlds and leaves you needing more in the best ways. This story will suck you right in.
Everest did not have a great life after losing his parents to disease and he almost didn't make it. A few years later portals opened that brought monsters with it. These monsters offered up protection, health, and technology above what they wanted in return wasn't too hard to obtain. I can't even imagine how the world would take thins kind of "draft". I mean is it really that hard to accept a bj from a monster once a week?
Of course there is always more to the story but it worked out very well for the humans and also for the monsters. For Ev is came a little too late for his parents and his aunt and uncle were very against it but Even always knew he would sign up as soon as he was able. He never could have expected what would follow.
I freaking loved Rathyn. Him being cum drunk was absolutely hysterical. This big be warrior of a monster becomes absolutely obsessed with Ev and it was fantastic. I loved how much Ev challenged Rather while always demanding to know more.
Cielo was such a sweet guard for Ev. Their friendship blossomed and watching Cielo experience all these normal things was fantastic. I can't wait for his story and to see what happens next.
There is so much we still need to learn about the monsters and their world. Nothing is as simple as it seems. We are beginning to see behind the curtain and I want more.
You know what? This title is misleading... in a way. Like... it is accurate in the way that there is a lot of sucking happening in this book, but it might give you the wrong impression when it comes to the book overall.
So, the thing is that this starts of as haha-hihi, you know? Like, sucking, super funny, all that... but wth do you mean I ended up crying like 4 times reading this? How did we get from haha-hihi to sobbing and feeling like my heart grew 3 sizes too big? Oh, my God... this was such a surprise I am still in shock.
As I said, there is a lot of sucking happening here, ok? It's basically the concept that brings these two worlds together, but even if this book has a lot of smut, I feel like every scene was meaningful. The smut scenes were serving a purpose. Sure, sometimes they were there to lighten the mood after a more emotional part, but overall, when you finish the book and you look back you realize that it just strengthened the connection between Rath and Ev.
The way their connection grew and helped them breach those intergalactic (?) barriers in such a primal way ( if you want ) was interesting to see. Everest brought the intimacy into a practice that felt cold and detached through Rathyn's eyes, and that helped him discover not only a forgotten part of his species, but also a new way of living.
The found family that is forming in this book is making me want to cry, because what do you mean my allien babies suffered so much? Good thing we have these stubborn humans ready to turn their world upside down to make them see their worth.
My only complain is that this is not really dual pov... we have a few chapters from Rathyn's perspective, but it is not enough for me. I need to be in those aliens minds to see what they think/feel at every step. Period. This is why this book is a 4.75 and not a 5. I said what I said.
Great start for this series... I can't wait to see what the next books are gonna be like.
This monster romance by E.M. Lindsey and Cora Rose is addictive as all get out. The world building is fantastic and I’m already chomping at the bit for the second book in the series. (Cielo’s book is going to be amazing)!
Rathyn and Everest are a Vyastil commander and a human being that come together under necessary circumstances. Everest is trying to do a duty that will keep him out from under the thumb of his intolerant aunt and uncle. Rathyn is in need of certain fluids from Everest for certain reasons that are explained later in the book.
Everest is stubborn and opinionated. He has his own mind and won’t let Rathyn forget that. Rathyn follows the traditions and customs of the Vyastil. It is obvious from the start that there is something different about Everest to Rathyn. Little bursts of periodic realizations consistently acknowledged throughout this story. It takes some time for certain barriers to come down, but once it does the connection between Rathyn and Everest is unmistakable. Prepare to feel every kind of emotion as you read about their journey together towards their HEA.
This story is fascinating and complex. There’s more than meets the eye and things are brewing underneath the surface, while everything is blanketed in terms of a practical and peaceful treaty. The passion is unexpected but so welcome. Suck will keep you engaged from the beginning until the enticing epilogue. It’s interesting and wonderful. You should definitely read it!
The world building is interesting here because we get some foundational information — when the Vyastil arrived, their agreement with the humans, the portals between worlds — but there is a lot still unknown. And that makes sense, as we are in Everest’s sole POV, with the exception of a couple short chapters from Rathyn, and he has very little information about the process or what is really going on. So as Everest learns more, so do we, and he begins to uncover more about the Vyastil and how their culture works, as well as a darker side that they keep hidden.
Overall, this delivered on exactly what I was looking for in terms of a high-heat, monster romance, but also gave me more than I was expecting with regard to some more nuance and depth in the overall storyline.
I’ll start by saying I’m a big fan of anything this duo writes ♥️
Right from the first chapters, when you discover what the Viyastil need from humans and how they get it you’re going to have a full-on WTF moment 😂. Like… seriously?! You’ll be sitting there thinking, “there has to be an easier way,” because wow… 🙈
Expect high heat and a lot of it. Repeatedly. No breaks. Everest needs to stay hydrated 😅😅😅
But beyond all the heat there’s some really interesting world-building. The Viyastil love to present themselves as these superior beings to humans very “we’re perfect, you’re welcome” energy. But underneath all that shine, they’re just as messy and flawed as humans, if not worse. Turns out “perfect species” is more of a marketing strategy than reality.
And Rath or “Rathyn of the Dark Vale” is such a softie when it comes to Everest. I adored how their relationship started and developed. Turns out Everest is not a submissive human and Rath wouldn’t want it any other way ❤️❤️❤️
I’m already looking forward to Dante and Cielo’s story and I’m really hoping we get Zane and Quill next!
Did you like the idea of Morning Glory Milking Farm, but wanted 50% more plot, and fewer descriptions of big cow faces? If so, you're in luck!
Suck by Cora Rose and E.M. Lindsey features an alien/monster race who need human cum for survival (mysteriously). Our human main character, Everest, signs up for the job. Enter Rath, our monster protagonist. He's big, he's blue, he absolutely *loves* giving blow jobs. The more the merrier.
The book is absolutely madcap but also kind of sweet, and has more plot than I was anticipating (in a good way). There is a fair amount of slice-of-life stuff but enough world building to keep it interesting. Lots of sex scenes, which are unique and unusual — weird sexy herbs / sex pollen feature heavily. There are some scenes which might be considered dubcon for this reason.
The next book in this series will be released in a few weeks, and I'm definitely invested in this story already!
So even though I had the novella version of this, I never got around to reading it 😅 so I had no idea what to expect from this story.
*I received an arc copy of this book, all opinions are my own*
We kind of start off with a classically outlandish monster romance premise, which then turns into a ton of world-building & foundational plot setting for the series at large. I do think the middle portion kind of lost steam for me, as some things were a bit repetitive so easily could’ve cut like 10% of the pages or even some of the spice scenes (which is something I’ve never said before 😅). But, I’m definitely super invested for the next book!
I would also say that this book is much more of a HFN ending and it’s all kind of rushed right in the last 10% and then we get a classic Cora Rose epilogue that is actually just the prologue from the next book’s MMC.
I LOVE a good monster/human romance and this one was no exception! It was a little sweet, a little funny, and a LOT spicy - given the premise of the story, the high spice level was fitting. LOVE unusual monster…*anatomy*. I love that Everest didn’t take any of Rath’s shit and challenged him…although I would have been okay with him being just a *tad* less argumentative, given that he knew Rath didn’t think and comprehend in the same way as humans.
And let me tell you I don’t think I have EVER been so invested in a side character’s story in all my life! I cannot WAIT for my sweet little sugar muffin Cielo’s (and Dante’s!) story!!!!! I’m also gonna need Zane and Quillyion’s story at some point 👀👀👀
It was really brave of the authors to make Rath as terrible of a person (alien) as they did. The best way I can describe him would be that in a restaurant he would snap his fingers at a waiter until they bring him the check and wouldn’t tip because “they are just doing their job”. Add in how he repeatedly wouldn’t tell Everest very important, contextually vital information while taking over Everest’s entire life and you get a deeply tedious character to read about.
To be fair, a little bit of the blame gets added to Everest for not standing up to Rath more. My favorite part was at the end when he left Rath. That was fantastic.
It gets three stars because I liked Everest’s friendship with Cielo and I’m excited for his and Dante’s book. Otherwise it would be two.
What a great debut to this new monster/human world. I love me some monster/human MM romance. I was sucked right in - pun totally intended! The world building in this was easy to follow and understand. Everest and Rathyn were great. I love how possessive Rathyn was of Everest. Ev is the best of brats. This has humour, spice and depth. The side characters in this were also great. I can’t wait for the next in the series! This was a fast easy read for me. Even over 400 pages I read this over the span of 2 days. Also the cover is fire! Reminds me of an 80s metal album cover and I am here for it!!
This is a great monster romance! It has wonderful world building and the spice is spicy. I was in grossed in the world from cover to cover and loved it so very much! Rathyn and Everest had a rough beginning but the ending is definitely where it’s at! I can’t wait for the next book in the series and I absolutely recommend it!
Hot humorous monster smutty goodness full of heart.
The way this book sucked me in (get it...) No, but seriously, this book kept me entertained from beginning to end. I did not want to put it down. It had all the feel-good fun vibes along with this interesting sort of post-apocalyptic feel/alien world colliding with our world. I absolutely loved everything about this book.
The characters were phenomenal. I couldn't get enough of Everest and Rathyn's dynamic as they learned to navigate the world together and each others customs/mannerisms and sayings. They were so freaking cute together. Everest just has this inner monologue that was not only endearing but also hilarious, and he's so snarky he's just so much fun. And Rathyn, oh my sweet, possessive touch starved monster how I love him so. Together, they were just everything.
Look, if you would have told me I'd be into MM monster romance in the past, I probably would have laughed in your face. But Cora Rose and EM Lindsey wrote it, so you bet I was going to read this book and love the ever living daylights out of it. They did not play around this book is HOT, high heat, and fast burn!
This book was everything I never knew I needed it was so refreshing and went beyond the romance. It made me laugh, swoon, had me giddy with anticipation, and melting from the scortching heat. It's also surprisingly sweet and heartfelt.
Tropes: Paranormal Monster/Human Opposites attract Hurt/Comfort Forced proximity First times High heat Sexual Awakening Power dynamics Touch him and ☠️ Dual POV Check TW
I'm so beyond excited that this is a series, and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book by these amazing authors. *grabby hands*
Thank you, TAA, Cora Rose, and E.M. Lindsey, for the opportunity to read this book.
Ever since Cora and E.M. Started writing together, I’ve been addicted to their collaboration writing, but I will say that I think this series might be my favorite by them.
First off, can we just talk about Cielo because he is definitely my all time favorite character. I never knew I could love a character so much. He’s just so sweet and just everything kind. I CANNOT wait for his book with Dante. Ugh and the way he speaks is just everything I didn’t know I needed.
When I saw the title of the book, I didn’t even think it would be so spicy but my goodness. Also, this book was super sweet and cute but those funny moments had me dying. When Rath first meets him and said his equipment was like walnuts and pecans, I was dying laughing.
I really liked how different this was from other monster/human romances that I’ve read because it seriously sucks you into this world. I really loved how Everest explained what certain words met when he would have conversations with Rath and Cielo.
I love how Rath tries to be strong and not feel anything but the more time he spends with Everest, he can’t help these feelings.
I always loved the outings we got to see with Cielo. Cielo and his love for coffee was so cute. When he sat down in the beanbag, that was so adorable; especially when Dante helped him stand.
The ending to save both of them makes me intrigued what more we are going to see of this world because it makes me so hopeful.
If you’re looking for a sweet yet very spicy with ongoing spicy scenes, this book is for you. When you think the spice is done, think again. Absolutely a must read.
I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.
Let me start by saying I love E.M. Lindsey and Cora Rose's book but this collab book was incredible! It is my first alien romance and I am hooked on this series! Rath and Ev's story is a grumpy/sunshine romance. This book starts off with an alien race known as the Vyastil comes to Earth and brokers a treaty with the government. They help better the planet by giving clean water sources, cure incurable disease, and more in exchange for human... "essence" from men aged 21 and older. The government sets up a system like the former draft (since the aliens brought peace to Earth) and they sign up to be sucked. Yes, it's exactly how it sounds. On Everest's first day he is paired with Rathyn, a commander for the Vyastil and Rath is absolutely hooked for reasons you'll have to read to find out. I really enjoyed the world building and learning about the alien race. I laughed out loud so many times while reading as Rath learned about our world and words and phrases. His use of the term "meat market" had me howling! If alien/monster romance is something you enjoy, I definitely recommend giving this one a read! I am looking forward to book 2 and Dante and Cielo's story because my heart needs Cielo to get his HEA!
Suck by E.M. Lindsey and Cora Rose is book 1 in the Feed and Feast series. Good grief…this book had me in a stranglehold. Set in the near future, Earth has been colonized by aliens who need a very certain body fluid from men. Men agree to donate once a week to benefit the aliens who have provided Earth with so many cures and enhancements. The world-building was phenomenal and not overwhelming in the least. Everest is new to the donating game and he soon becomes the companion of the head of the Vyastil army. I loved how these two developed a relationship. How need soon became want. These two didn’t completely understand what was happening, but they knew that they cared about each other. Though Rath did make me a little mad after being rescued- lol. I could not put this book down. I loved all the side characters and the overarching plot being built. Obviously, the aliens are not the perfect society that they are claiming to be. I am so interested in where these two will take us next. It is no secret that I adore E.M. Lindsey. When they write with Cora, we get emotional hilarious stories that stick with me for a very long time. I look forward to book 2 because Cielo deserves to be loved and adored.
I received an ARC from the authors for my honest review.
I received an eARC from The Author Agency. These are my honest thoughts.
If you enjoy monster/alien romance with a wild premise then you should definitely read this book!
Everest is an adolescent when aliens arrive on Earth through portals that suddenly appear in his hometown. A pact is made between the aliens and the humans where the aliens provide technology and the humans provide something that the aliens desperately need. What do they need? Well, that's all kept hush hush until male humans turn 21 and can volunteer.
There's definitely spice in this book. I thought it was done well and it didn't feel gratuitous given the premise of the book. There are also sweet moments between Everest and Rathyn as well as a good amount of miscommunication between species. The monsters from Erethar are very secretive and there is so much that Everest doesn't understand and that Rathyn can't or won't explain.
I really appreciated how this book handles serious topics like social inequality, consent, the justice system, and power dynamics within a relationship. Even though Everest seemingly has less power he is able to stand up for himself and find his own power within the relationship.
I'm looking forward to the next books in the series and to learning more about Erethar.
