Jameson Force Seattle #2

Code Name: Harbor

Where the water runs deep and the danger runs deeper, two enemies will risk everything to survive.

Josie McAdams has built her life on rules. As an intelligence specialist for Jameson Force Seattle, she’s made a career out of turning chaos into order and catching the bad guys before they strike. But when a mission on the docks goes wrong and a handsome smuggler saves her life, Josie is forced to face the one rule she’s never dared to break—trusting a criminal.

Having spent years running contraband through Puget Sound’s fog-shrouded channels, Finn Marlowe is no stranger to walking the razor’s edge between outlaw and survivor. When the beautiful woman he pulled from the water approaches him for help dismantling a human-trafficking ring, he’s hard-pressed to turn her away. When he discovers the same network he’s been working for is behind the trafficking, Finn knows he could lose everything by getting involved, but turning a blind eye could cost him even more.

She’s sworn to the law. He lives outside it. But as their uneasy alliance deepens, attraction sparks into something neither can control—and every secret they keep could be the one that gets them killed. When the tides turn and bullets start flying, Josie and Finn discover that sometimes the only safe harbor to hide… is in each other’s arms.

ARC Review 📖

The mix of danger, mystery, and forbidden attraction made this such a fun read!

There was something so entertaining about watching two people from opposite sides of the law navigate an uneasy alliance while trying not to give in to the chemistry between them. The suspense kept the story moving, and I was always curious to see where things would go next.

Josie was smart, capable, and fiercely determined, making her such an easy character to root for. Finn had that guarded, mysterious quality that kept me intrigued, and I especially enjoyed seeing his softer side come through as he grew more protective of Josie. Their relationship developed in a way that made their trust in each other feel meaningful, and their chemistry added plenty of tension alongside all the action and intrigue.

Overall, this was an entertaining romantic suspense with strong characters, plenty of danger, and a romance that kept me invested. I enjoyed the balance between the high-stakes storyline and the growing connection between the characters, and it was such an easy book to settle into.

A fun addition to the series that kept me turning the pages.

ALC Review (Audiobook) 🎧

The audiobook brought a whole different energy to this story for me. Erin Mallon gave Josie a really natural mix of confidence, determination, and vulnerability, while Sean Masters made Finn feel suitably guarded and intriguing without losing the softer side of his character. I especially enjoyed how their performances played off each other as the relationship shifted from cautious trust to genuine attraction. The suspense, action, and chemistry all came through really well in audio, making this an easy listen to get absorbed in and a fun way to experience the story.

~~~~
I was so excited to experience this one in both formats. Having the ARC and ALC meant I could fully sink into the story, and honestly, it made the experience that much better.
~~~~

A sincere thank you to Sawyer Bennett and The Author Agency for the ARC & ALC! 🥰📚

I’m so grateful for the early read. As always, all thoughts and opinions are completely my own. ✨

I really enjoyed reading this book! There was a good balance of suspense and romance. I liked how determined and capable Josie was and Finn just kept surprising me at some parts. I liked the mysterious vibe he gave off. However, a few parts of the plot felt predictable to me and I wanted to see some more romantic development between Josie & Finn. But overall, this was an entertaining read. It was very easy to get into and with strong likeable characters, so I'll give it 3.75 stars.

I received an ARC in exchange of an honest review

Code Name: Harbor — Sawyer Bennett
Narrators: Sean Masters & Erin Mallon
Format: Audiobook
ALC: The Author Agency

Code Name: Harbor was such a fun, suspenseful listen with a relationship dynamic I really enjoyed. Josie works in intelligence and has a background with the NSA, so her entire career has revolved around upholding the law and catching criminals. Then she meets Finn a legitimate businessman who also happens to run a smuggling operation on the side. When they’re pulled together while investigating a human-trafficking ring, Josie has to confront the fact that the man she’s falling for is exactly the kind of person she’s spent her career going after.

I really loved that moral conflict for Josie and the way it played against Finn’s own struggle with wanting to be good enough for her. Finn pretty much went headfirst into their relationship, and I loved seeing this man who had built an entire life for himself start questioning his choices because of what he felt for Josie.

The pacing and writing were great, and I really enjoyed the mystery and thriller elements. I just wanted a little more suspense, higher stakes, and conflict between Josie and Finn. Everything seemed to fall into place fairly easily, and I think making them work harder for their relationship would have added more emotional depth.

The audiobook was fantastic. Sean Masters and Erin Mallon are always amazing together, and I’ve listened to several audiobooks they’ve narrated. Their performances complemented each other perfectly and made this such an easy, enjoyable listen.

Overall, 4 stars and 1.5 chili peppers from me. A really enjoyable romantic suspense with danger, morally complicated choices, a smuggler MMC, and a romance that had me invested—I just wanted a little more tension before everything came together.

Another winner from one of my absolute go to authors! 🔥

I’m seriously loving the ever-growing worlds she creates, and how they all cleverly intertwine, bringing different characters and universes together. Code Name: Harbour had me hooked from the start. Josie McAdams and Finn Marlowe are complete opposites. She’s all rules and order, while he’s a morally challenged smuggler living on the wrong side of the law. Despite their differences, they somehow work together. Their chemistry, tension, and growing trust make them impossible not to root for.

Add in plenty of action, danger, twists, secrets, and heat, and this was another seriously entertaining read. I loved Finn’s gruff, ambiguous side and Josie’s strength and determination. Watching their relationship unfold was just so good.

Another fabulous addition to the Jameson Force universe, and I’m officially invested in every interconnected world she creates. Bring on the next one! ❤️‍🔥

🌊 High-stakes danger, a morally gray hero, and an uneasy alliance that turns into something neither of them can resist? Yes, please!

📚 Code Name: Harbor by Sawyer Bennett
Jameson Force Seattle #2
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🔎 Read if you like:

⚓ Romantic suspense
⚖️ Opposite sides of the law
🔥 Enemies-to-lovers tension
🖤 Morally gray heroes
🤝 Uneasy alliances
💥 Action, danger, and intrigue

Code Name: Harbor pulled me in from the opening scene and kept me completely invested. Josie is an intelligence specialist who thrives on rules and order, while Finn operates outside the law and has learned to survive in a world where trusting the wrong person can be deadly. They shouldn’t work together—and they definitely shouldn’t be attracted to each other—but that is exactly what makes their story so compelling.

I loved watching Josie and Finn’s guarded alliance slowly evolve as they learned more about each other. Finn may be a criminal, but he isn’t without a conscience, and the choices he makes when he discovers the truth behind the trafficking operation reveal so much about the man beneath that morally gray exterior. Josie is intelligent, capable, and fierce, but she also has vulnerabilities that made her feel wonderfully human.

The suspense never lets up, and the story delivers a great balance of mystery, danger, twists, emotional moments, and plenty of heat. With secrets on both sides and the stakes continuing to rise, I couldn’t wait to see how everything would play out. This was another exciting and thoroughly entertaining addition to the Jameson Force world.

🎧 Erin Mallon and Sean Masters were fantastic as Josie and Finn. Erin captured both Josie’s strength and vulnerability, while Sean brought the perfect combination of danger, confidence, and hidden depth to Finn. Their expressive performances heightened the tension and emotion and made an already gripping story even more captivating.

❓QOTD: Do you prefer your romantic-suspense heroes firmly on the right side of the law—or deliciously morally gray?

One of the best parts of reading romantic suspense is the “meet cutes” are often intense and let’s just say Josie got herself into quite the jam while on an “op” in pitch black dark of the night of the Salish Sea between Seattle and Canada and Finn and his captain were there to rescue her. She knew enough to not ask questions but that certainly didn’t mean she didn’t have them. She was one of the best NSA agents and a lead intelligence specialist for Jameson security force. That is actually what I loved most about Josie- she so very clearly is very smart. But underneath all of her training, intelligence she is still a woman that loves her father, her friends, wants to find love and will do what she can to protect others.
And then there is Finn, who is actually very complicated. As readers we knew that Finn skirted the law; he was really a good guy- his family was his crew Marcus and Connie. The way he made the bulk of his money was maybe not legal but that came from years of fending for himself and having to do what he needed to do to survive while that doesn’t make it right- it certainly is a reason.
Josie and Finn had immediate chemistry and while neither of them was expecting to find love on the water that night they couldn’t ignore their draw to one another. There was a lot working against these two between their jobs and some friends doubting their connection. And lets just say these two lit the pages on fire!
The emotional level in this book was very high- the tension on the page was palpable. Bennett did such an amazing job ratcheting up the suspense and tension we could almost feel that the bad guys were becoming increasingly angry and anxious. That wasn’t the only tension- there was pressure from Finn’s crew because being in the crosshairs of the Russians was not the place to be. You know a book is amazing when you pull up maps while you listen so you can track where the action is happening. Erin Mallon and Sean Masters really did such a phenomenal job bringing Josie McAams and Finn Marlowe to life- so if you are an audiobook reader I cannot recommend listening to this one! Another high stakes hit from Sawyer Bennett and I cannot wait for what is next up in the Jameson Seattle series.

Code Name: Harbor by Sawyer Bennett stars Josie and Finn, a security specialist and a smuggler who straddles the grey areas of life. This was a gripping tale; it piqued my interest, and I was engrossed from beginning to end.
We found the characters engaging and lovable; well, most of them. The villains played their parts to a T. Josie's relationship was one of the things that stood out in this story; it was very special. Finn's family was made up of a found family

Finn was a swoony character full of mystery, a checkered past, who made something of himself and loved what he did for a living, but started to question his life choices worth giving up for the woman he had come to love. One of the things that made Finn's and Josie's relationship blossom is that she accepted him for who he was, faults and all.

Josie is brilliant at her job, a go-getter and a lively character, and was on a mission to serve justice. Her relationship with Finn brought many complications, and some would consider it forbidden, but I loved that she gave Finn a chance to act on what was brewing between them.

This was a great read. It was steamy and action-packed. Twists and turns took place, with betrayals, tons of suspense, and surprises. Finn was a standout character; we saw major growth and life-changing moments throughout. The ending for this couple couldn't have been better, especially when they were complete opposites yet had that soulmate connection.

I listened to the novel as an audiobook, and we loved the narrators; they did an awesome job.

This is the second book in the Jameson Force series, a series of interconnected standalone novels.

This one centers around Josie, a Jameson Force Analyst and Finn, a fine art smuggler. After Finn fishes Josie out of the harbor after a stakeout gone wrong, its practically insta-love for him. And what begins as a way to get to knoe her better and for her to get information about another criminal quickly turns into mission to keep her safe from the human tr@ff!ckers she escaped from.

I loved the dynamic between these two and the way they both went to great lengths to protect one another. And the storyline offered the right amount of suspense to keep me listening/turning the page. The cast of supporting characters were well written and gave the story so much character and depth.

Sean Masters and Erin Mallon did a phenomenal job with the narration and I really enjoyed their interpretation of the characters. Their performance was very nuanced and gave Josie, Finn, and everyone else so much agency that they felt like real people and not just characters on the page.

Overall, this was a fun, fast-paced read that i thoroughly enjoyed.

Josie works for Jameson Force when she decides to do some investigation without backup. When she gets into a dire situation it is Finn who comes to her rescue, but the danger is far from over. She knows that they are on the opposite sides of the law however that doesn’t diminish the feelings she has for him and the information he may hold that could help her with her investigation.

Despite his difficult upbringing Finn has made a successful career and life as an art deal by legal and illegal means. He knows the consequences of helping Josie and the danger she brings both when it comes to the law and the person who is determined to find her, but he still does it and now he can’t imagine a future that doesn’t include her.

Josie and Finn take us on an action-packed adventure that balances suspense and romance as the surprises keep coming as they both make choices so that they can be together. Erin Mallon brings out the strength of Josie and her need to do what is right while Sean Masters shows us the good man that Finn is and the events that led him to where he is now.

This is the second book in this impressive series, and this is Josie and Finn’s story.
Josie is an intelligence specialist, who abides by the rules, while Finn is an art gallery owner by day, and a smuggler by night. When Josie is on a mission which goes wrong, she jumps into the water to escape, and Finn, who witnessed her jumping, comes to her rescue. What starts as two enemies risking everything to survive, has Josie trusting a criminal which goes against all of her rules.
This is a well written slow burn, easy to read, action packed story, with secrets, lies, alliances, suspense, intrigue, opposites attract, forced proximity, morally gray, forbidden romance, touch her and die, humour, witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, and thrilling page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

3.75 rounded to 4 stars for me.

It was an enjoyable romantic suspense, with some hard choices between main characters along the way.Finn while not knight in shining armour rescued Josie, and while on opposites sides of law he can't stay away from her.It was sweet in moments romance, with some really dark and scary guys that want Josie dead. The betrayal was quite easy to predict, but I still hoped that there will be some loyalty,it was heartbreaking when they figure it out and was so hurt about it.Great second book in the series that can be read as standalone.

If you looking for a romantic suspense I would recommend this one.

FINN!!!!! I fell in love with him from the beginning! Oh dear, I’m IN LOVE! And our smart Josie??? I always love a smart & strong female character, and yes, here we go! They fall in love with each other so fast despite having tricky professions that are definitely not on the “same side.” But they communicate clearly, believe in each other, and protect each other, and I LOVE how it shows just how mature they are and how deeply they love each other.

The action and suspense in this book truly made me unable to stop reading until the very end!!!! The spice is also perfectly placed and SO HOTTTT, and it really shows how much they’re hungry for and want each other too!!!! UGHHHH 🔥🔥🔥

ARC REVIEW
I don’t mind instalove but this was not it! It felt repetitive, rushed, and it’s hard to pinpoint where they fell in love. One minute Finn saves Josie from drowning because she decided to case an assignment that she wasn’t supposed to do and the next minute they are living together saying I love you.
I got to see some of their childhood stories and they were sad(Finn’s story) and hers was nice but it was not what I expected.
I don’t mind that he is a smuggler and she is an agent and that was not allowed but they didn’t even fight to be together. It was like they said forget our jobs and let’s do this. Usually there’s fighting and no we can’t do this because of my job blah blah but none of that.

Book 2 in the Jameson Force Seattle series was just as good as book 1!

Dual narration with Sean Master and Erin Mallon is always good.

Josie is a security expert with Jameson Force. However, a wrong move puts her in danger from human traffickers. Finn is an art thief that pulls her out of danger. Finn is not just an art thief though.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Josie and Finn. I would love to see more of them in the future. This book drew me in from page 1 and didn't let me go until the end.

🌊🖤 She Was Supposed to Catch Him, Not Fall for Him 🖤🌊
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars | 🌶️🌶️ 2 Chili Peppers

The mix of danger, mystery, and forbidden attraction made Code Name Harbor such a fun read! Sawyer Bennett pulled me in almost immediately with Josie and Finn's first meeting, and from there I was completely invested in seeing what would happen when an intelligence specialist who lives by the rules finds herself drawn to a man who makes his living operating outside of them.

Josie McAdams is an intelligence specialist for Jameson Force Seattle with a background working for the NSA, so rules, order, and catching criminals are basically her entire world. Then one night, during an operation that goes very wrong, she ends up in the water and is rescued by Finn Marlowe, a man who just happens to be a smuggler. 😂 Talk about an inconvenient meet-cute.

What I loved most about Josie was how smart and capable she was. She isn't just good at her job because the story tells us she is. You can actually see her intelligence and determination throughout the story. But underneath all that training, she's still a woman who loves her father and friends, wants a relationship, and genuinely cares about protecting other people. I really liked getting to see all of those sides of her.

And then there's Finn. 👀

Finn is exactly the kind of complicated, morally gray hero I enjoy. He's an art dealer who also happens to make money through smuggling, so he's definitely not someone Josie should be falling for. But the more we learn about him, the more you understand why he became the man he is. His crew is his family, and so much of his life has been about surviving and making his own way. That doesn't make all of his choices legal or right, but it does make him more complicated than simply being "the criminal."

I especially loved watching Finn start questioning some of those choices because of Josie. He went pretty much all in on her, and there was something very swoony about watching this man who had built an entire life for himself suddenly start wondering if that life was enough. He becomes increasingly protective of Josie, but she never feels incapable or like she needs him to fight her battles for her. They protect each other, and I really enjoyed that dynamic.

Their chemistry was immediate, and these two definitely lit up the pages. 🔥 What made it even more fun was the moral conflict sitting underneath their attraction. Josie has spent her career going after people like Finn, and now she's falling for one. Meanwhile, Finn knows exactly what being involved with her could cost him. Their relationship isn't just complicated because they're attracted to each other. It's complicated because choosing each other means both of them have to question where they stand.

I also really enjoyed the mystery and thriller elements. The human-trafficking investigation gave the story plenty of danger, secrets, betrayals, and twists, and I liked seeing the Jameson Force team working through the larger case while Josie and Finn became more entangled in it. The balance between the investigation and the romance worked really well for me, and I was always curious about what was going to happen next.

That said, I did find myself wanting a little more from the suspense side of the story. There were moments where I wanted the stakes to feel even higher and for Josie and Finn to have to work a little harder for their relationship. Some things fell into place fairly easily, and I think a little more conflict between them and a few more obstacles could have added even more emotional depth.

But even with that, I had such a good time reading this. The pacing and writing were great, the characters were engaging, the chemistry was fantastic, and I loved watching Finn's softer side come out. I also really enjoyed the supporting characters, especially Finn's found family. They added another layer to his character and made it easier to understand the life he had built for himself.

Overall, Code Name Harbor was an exciting, steamy, action-packed addition to the Jameson Force Seattle series. Josie and Finn were such an unlikely pairing, but that's exactly what made them work for me. She's the woman who lives by the law, he's the man who operates in the gray, and somehow they become the safest place for each other.

Another great Sawyer Bennett romantic suspense, and I am definitely ready to see what comes next in this series.

She works for the law. He lives outside it. And trusting each other might be the most dangerous thing they do.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (3.5/5)
Spice-meter: 🌶️🌶️☆☆☆ (2/5)
Audiobook: Duet
Series: Jameson Force Seattle, Book 2 (can be read as a standalone)

Code Name: Harbor is a romantic suspense filled with danger, action, secrets, and an uneasy alliance between two people who really shouldn't trust each other. Josie is an intelligence specialist for Jameson Force Seattle who has spent her life following the rules, while Finn is a smuggler who very much operates on the other side of the law.

When Josie needs Finn's help taking down a human-trafficking operation, the two are forced to work together despite being on completely opposite sides of the law. And naturally, that uneasy alliance starts turning into something neither of them expected.

I really enjoyed the dynamic between Josie and Finn. There's plenty of tension as they slowly move from cautious distrust to genuine attraction, and Finn's morally grey nature added an interesting layer to the story. He's guarded and mysterious at first, but once you get beneath that exterior, there's a much softer side to him.

The suspense and action kept the story moving, and I liked the balance between the romance and the danger surrounding them. The story also does a good job of keeping you wondering who can actually be trusted.

What I Loved

✔️ Romantic suspense with plenty of action
✔️ Opposites on completely different sides of the law
✔️ Josie's strength and determination
✔️ Finn's morally grey, guarded personality
✔️ Uneasy alliance turning into attraction
✔️ Great chemistry between Josie and Finn
✔️ Secrets, danger, and intrigue
✔️ Action scenes and high-stakes moments
✔️ Slow-building trust between the characters

🎧 Narration

Erin Mallon and Sean Masters were fantastic as Josie and Finn.

Erin captures Josie's confidence, determination, and vulnerability really naturally, while Sean gives Finn that perfect combination of danger, confidence, and hidden depth.

I especially enjoyed how their performances played off each other as Josie and Finn slowly went from cautious trust to genuine attraction. The suspense, action, and chemistry all came through really well in audio, making this an easy and enjoyable listen.

Tropes & Vibes

✔️ Opposite Sides of the Law
✔️ Enemies to Lovers Energy
✔️ Morally Grey MMC
✔️ Uneasy Alliance
✔️ Forced Teamwork
✔️ Intelligence Specialist FMC
✔️ Smuggler MMC
✔️ Human Trafficking Investigation

Final Thoughts

Code Name: Harbor was a fun romantic suspense with a great balance of action, danger, and romance. Josie and Finn's opposite worlds made their relationship interesting, and I enjoyed watching their initial distrust slowly turn into something more.

Finn was definitely a highlight for me. That morally grey, guarded exterior hiding a softer side worked really well, and his chemistry with Josie kept me invested throughout the story.

The suspense kept things moving, the action gave the story plenty of momentum, and the audiobook narration made it an easy one to get absorbed into.

If you enjoy romantic suspense with morally grey characters, enemies-to-lovers tension, action, danger, and two people who absolutely should not trust each other but do anyway, Code Name: Harbor is a fun addition to the Jameson Force Seattle series.

Awesome Story & Narration🎧Intriguing & Gripping!

Code Name: Harbor
Jameson Force Seattle, Book 2
By: Sawyer Bennett, Bill Keenan
Narrated by: Erin Mallon, Sean Masters

Sawyer Bennett pens another exciting novel set in her “Jameson Force Security: Seattle” series, a thrilling romantic suspense that brings two unlikely characters together, each on different sides of the law. The opening scene grabs your attention immediately, and the story continues to hold it captive the entire time. Josie McAdams, an analyst and intelligence specialist for Jameson Force Seattle and is working on an assignment for the Feds who want to take down a human trafficking ring. Josie was supposed to head out to the docks with a partner, but he got pulled away and since the window of opportunity to get the intel was small, she breaks protocol and goes alone, and it almost cost her dearly, close to paying with her life. Finn Marlowe deals in fine art, and he obtains some of his pieces from the black market. That night he was in his boat near the docks when he saw that larger boat come in, and while he does not condone what they are doing, it is every man for himself in his world. He also saw what went down with the woman on the dock, not the ones they were transporting, but the one they caught taking photos. Josie fought her way out of their grasp, but did not think she was going to survive being in the cold water, being shot at, and luckily she got far enough away and someone was there to rescue her, Finn. The two bonded that night, despite giving little information about what they were doing by the docks. He helped her get to safety, but her safety was questionable because she may have gotten away from those men at the dock, but that does not mean they won’t be looking for her. Now she had to explain to her boss, Malik, exactly what happened, but she left out details to protect Finn. It was great watching the building of Josie and Finn’s relationship, learning their intriguing backstories, and continuing to see Jameson’s work on the case, a case that got even more complicated. There is never a dull moment in this book, and I loved all the layers of the story and how it all played out, with the perfect balance of drama, angst, mystery, twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments, and steamy romance. Sawyer Bennett, thank you for another amazing story and the wild and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Erin Mallon and Sean Masters deliver an amazing performance voicing the characters and delivering a perfect portrayal of each. Mallon was a natural in Josie’s role, grasping every facet of her personality, from her vulnerabilities to her fierceness. Masters was just as amazing in Finn’s role, showcasing his personality perfectly. Both were fantastic at performing the roles of the side/secondary characters too. Their expressive delivery conveys all the characters’ emotions, making you feel them all. These two are a perfect pairing, with talents and voices that work well together, and an entertaining performance that captivates your attention throughout.

4.25stars--CODE NAME: HARBOR is the second instalment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary, adult JAMESON FORCE: SEATTLE erotic, romantic suspense series, a spin off, set in the author’s Jameson Force Security Worlds. This is thirty-six year old, art dealer Finn Marlowe, and thirty-one year old, intelligence specialist Josie McAdams’ story line. CODE NAME: HARBOR can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Finn and Josie) CODE NAME: HARBOR follows in the aftermath of the attempt on Josie’s life. While investigating a Russian human trafficking ring, our heroine finds herself facing down a murderous foe, landing herself in dangerous waters, only to be rescued by our story line hero. Finn Marlowe is no hero, he is an illegal art dealer, an importer of stolen and questionable goods but Finn finds himself rescuing a woman drowning in the waters near Seattle, a woman with whom Finn will fall in love. Reluctantly working together to take down the trafficking ring, our couple are at odds with Finn’s adjacent involvement with the Russians, a fact that keeps Finn Marlowe alive but all is not well, the Russian’s are still hunting for our story line heroine, with the help of someone formerly thought to be a friend.

The world building focuses on the take down of a human trafficking ring but in doing so threatens our hero’s livelihood as well. Jameson Force Security is working with the FBI but Josie knows more than she is saying, and with it, her life is in danger. From mansion to yachts, security offices to fishing boats, our couple find themselves part of the investigation moving forward.

The relationship between Finn and Josie begins as a rescue but neither one will admit the truth. Finn’s work is threatened by Josie’s investigation, an investigation that places Josie in the direct line of fire. For her protection Josie will move in with our story line hero, a move that comes with warnings from someone else. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters are spirited and somewhat controversial. We are introduce d to Finn’s business partners Marcus, and Connie Modesto; Josie’s father Bill McAdams, as well as the return of several members of the Jameson Force Team including Cole Mercer, and their boss Malik Fournier. The requisite evil has many faces.

CODE NAME: HARBOR is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, jealousy and retribution, family and friendships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is intriguing, and dramatic; the romance is spicy and seductive; the characters are desperate, determined and charismatic.

Code Name Harbor is book 2 in the Jameson Force Seattle series and follows cyber security expert, Josie, as she embarks on a journey of danger and love with art gallery owner, Finn.

Josie is an only child. Her father is military intelligence and she grew up learning how to suss out information from various sources and determining what is real and what is not. She is a highly sought after cyber intelligence expert and has worked for the NSA.

Finn is an only child and spent his teen years in system. He was rebellious and ended up in juvie. Typical young and dumb teenager. But he did not learn his lesson. Instead, he ended up doing time as an adult. He is not proud of that and swears to never go back. But has he really reformed his ways?

While performing surveillance work for a potential crime, Josie is found by a security patrol. She is forced to drop her evidence in the bottom of the body of water and swim for her life. Lucky for her, maybe, there is another boat nearby. They pull her aboard and the owner works to warm her up while his captain gets them the heck out of dodge.

Now Josie is not just a contractor to the FBI, she is a witness requiring protection. She has been debriefed by Cole, but failed to mention the name of her savior. She knows there is something else going on in his world that is probably not legal, so she only gives enough information to get by. But Cole is not dumb and he knows she is holding back information.

Now that Finn knows Josie is in trouble because of what she saw, and that they know who she is, he has deemed himself her personal protection. It does not hurt that he is overly attracted to her. He knows she works for Jameson and that they could easily handle her security, but he is determined. Plus he gets side benefits.

But Finn cannot hide who and what he is. He knows Josie has already run a background check on him. But he wants to be the one to tell her everything about his life. He owes her that much.

After Finn tells her everything, Josie is not deterred from their relationship. She has fallen for him. But his past will come back to haunt them.

There is a traitor in Finn's crew that will wreak havoc on him personally and professionally. Will they cost him everything, including the woman he loves and his own life?

This book kept me on the edge of my seat. Josie did not like being caged and having her wings clipped. Finn worried that giving her a little freedom could cost them everything. Malik and Cole worried about Josie, period.

Finn has finally found his person. But a friend of his, or someone who he thought was a just a friend, is jealous. She blames Josie for everything. Finn is not having it and puts her in her place. I felt bad for Connie, but what she did in response would have long term ramifications.

I really liked the FBI agent that was working with Jameson on the case they were building. She had enough respect for Josie and Finn that she spoke to them personally about the potential plea deal. She also chose not to pursue him for his dalliances. Don't Ask. Don't Tell.

From the first time I listened to him, Sean Masters became one of my absolute favorite male narrators. He has such a wide range of voice. I truly loved him as Finn and look forward to listening to more from him. Erin Mallon is always a joy to listen to. She becomes her character and you feel it in her narration.

A little mix of mystery, danger, forbidden attraction and some series spice kept me on my toes the entirety of this story.

Another book from Sawyer Bennett that just blew my mind.

I love a good opposites attract, the quintessential good girl x bad boy vibe with chemistry that is off the charts. She's in danger from the start and he saved her. And at that point, he 👏 was 👏 smitten. They tried not to give in to their chemistry but the more you resist... the more you're drawn in.

Josie is a wildly smart, fiercely independent, stubbornly determined and fully capable of anything thrown at her. She stood her ground and wanted to be involved, even when it risked her life. Meanwhile, Finn was the grumpy, mysterious man who kept his guard up because of his past life, but he had a softer side that he slowly showed to Josie and only Josie.

He was drawn to her instantly and became more and more protective of her over time. While there was instant attraction, their relationship bloomed over time, which made it feel more realistic and you wanted to root for them both. It was an excellent balance between the growing relationship and connection between them and the high-stakes suspense. The great mixture between the two added to the tension, action, spice and intrigue that kept you fully engaged in the story.

I enjoyed this story in audiobook format and I thought the narrator selection was spot on. When I pictured the vibe behind Finn in my head, Sean Masters nailed it. Gruff, grumpy, with his guard up while showcasing his softer side in the right moments. Erin Mallon provided that determination and sophistication behind what I expected from Josie as well. Two characters with vastly different backgrounds but these two narrators brought together a performance that showcased a building relationship from instant attraction to cautiously trusting one another to highly explosive (IYKYK) chemistry and you felt the genuine attraction between the characters.

Thank you Sawyer Bennett and The Author Agency for this ALC opportunity.

Code Name: Harbor is a phenomenal addition to the Jameson Force Seattle series, a full 5‑star romantic suspense that grabs your attention from the opening scene and never lets go. Sawyer Bennett delivers another intense, high‑stakes story with two compelling characters on opposite sides of the law, and the audiobook narration by Erin Mallon and Sean Masters elevates every moment.
Josie McAdams, an intelligence analyst for Jameson Force Seattle, is deep into a human trafficking investigation near the Pacific Northwest docks. She’s determined, fierce, and willing to bend the rules to get the evidence needed to take down the criminals. But one risky decision puts her life in danger in the middle of Puget Sound, and suddenly she’s in the hands of Finn Marlowe, a wealthy, morally‑gray smuggler whose world collides with hers in explosive ways.
The tension is constant:
Can Josie bring down the trafficking ring while protecting Finn’s secrets?
Will Jameson Force and the FBI accept what really happened?
With the Russians still hunting, who can Josie and Finn actually trust?
The emotional core of the story is just as strong as the action. Josie and Finn’s chemistry is electric, and when Finn falls, he falls hard, protective, loyal, and willing to risk everything. Their relationship crosses ethical lines, making this a deliciously forbidden romance layered with danger, devotion, and moral complexity.
The narration is outstanding. Erin Mallon captures Josie’s strength, vulnerability, and intelligence perfectly, while Sean Masters embodies Finn’s intensity, charm, and emotional depth. Both narrators deliver every side character with clarity and personality, making the entire cast feel alive. Their emotive performances pull you into every laugh, every tear, and every heart‑stopping moment.
This audiobook is gripping, sexy, action‑packed, and beautifully performed. It’s everything you want in a romantic suspense, and it leaves you eager for the next installment to catch up with the rest of the Jameson Force team.

**Audiobook Review**

I have been waiting gor the next book in this series and I couldn’t wait to start it once his hit my account. “Code Name: Harbor” is a swoony, action packed and emotional opposites attract, forbidden romantic suspense that was a great addition to the series.

Josie McAdams has built her career on rules and following her gut. And that includes going to the dock at night because she knows something bad is happening. Her gut is right and it’s almost her last mission until a handsome smuggler rescues her. Finn Marlowe walks the thin line between outlaw and survivor. And when he discovers the same network he uses for his business is also behind human trafficking, he knows he needs to step in. Josie and Finn form an unusual alliance and decide to work together to stop the traffickers. But as they spend time together, they have a chemistry neither can deny.

Man, once I started this book I was hooked on Josie and Finn. I loved how this story started out and it only got better as we got deeper into the plot. Josie is smart, caring and I loved how her mind worked when she was on a case. She was passionate about working with Jameson and taking down the criminals. Finn is swoony, confident and was able to make something of himself after a tough upbringing. He’s a man who toes the line in between right and wrong but has a moral compass when it counts the most. They had great chemistry from the beginning and I loved them as a couple. They truly saw each other for who they were and supported each other even though the lines got blurry with Finn’s career. But they worked together to end the horrible thing that was being brought into Seattle. The action was nonstop and the last few chapters had me on the edge of my seat as I listened. The ending was perfect and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Erin Mallon and Sea Masters narrated as Josie and Finn and they were amazing bringing this story to life. Erin brought the passionate and driven Josie alive perfectly. And I loved listening to Sean bring the smart and protective Finn to life.

Edge of your seat romance

Jameson Force is one of my favourite Sawyer Bennett worlds, and the new Seattle series is certainly living up to my expectations. CODE NAME: HARBOR is an opposites attract, forced proximity, slowburn romance with a morally grey hero and a kicka$$ heroine. It is action filled, dramatic, and thoroughly gripping, I didn't want it to end.

I could not have loved Josie McAdams and Finn Marlowe more than I did. Josie was such a smart, strong and independent woman who stood up for what she believed in. Finn, oh this man, had a huge caring heart, a heartbreaking backstory, and a very dubious secret side. The chemistry between them was amazing, their open and honest communication was a breath of fresh air, and I loved that, and despite their conflicting careers they fought for their relationship.

This book wasn't only about romance, a Russian Boss has been trafficking women and Jameson Force are called in to help the FBI. Josie, defying her boss's orders, sets out alone to uncoverevidence against the mob boss and is seen. Her life is threatened and her protection is a priority. From here I sat on the edge of my seat, following clues, screaming at betrayals, and cheering on a romance that was meant to be.

🎧Audio Review🎧

The narrators, Erin Mallon and Sean Masters were brilliant, perfectly bringing Josie and Finn to life. Their portrayals had me thoroughly engrossed as Erin captured Josie's strengths, vulnerabilities, and sassyness, while Sean mastered Finn's confidence, darkness, and dangerous side. They work well together, effortlessly bouncing of each other's narration.

CODE NAME: HARBOR is a terrific story. It is captivating, gripping, steamy, and has the perfect balance of romance, action, drama, and suspense. It is another wonderful addition to Jameson Force Security , now I cannot wait for the next one.

The rule breaker and the law enforcer, a true opposites attract romantic suspense. Josie McAdams, Jameson Force Seattle’s new lead intelligence specialist and former NSA analyst is determined to catch a Russian human trafficking ring operating around the docks of the Pacific Northwest, and she’s willing to defy orders to get the evidence she needs to put them behind bars. Unfortunately she finds herself fighting for her life in the middle of the Puget Sound, and her life is now in the hands of another smuggler, super rich and extremely sexy, Finn Marlowe. Can Josie keep Finn’s secrets and catch the bad guys? Will the FBI believe their story, and will the powers that be at Jameson Force Security allow Josie to continue in her intelligence position? Not only is Josie facing the consequences of her actions that night, so too is Finn, who is dealing with flack from his own team, including a very jealous best friend. The Russian’s are out for blood. Who can Finn and Josie trust? What a story, highly entertaining with hands on action throughout, and of course the love story at the centre of it all. I love Josie and Finn’s commitment to each other, when Finn falls, he falls hard, and he’ll do anything to protect what’s his. Finn’s quayside activities are a morally grey area, and for Josie, ethical boundaries are definitely crossed, in this sexy forbidden romance. I listened to the audiobook alongside reading the ebook, and Erin Mallon and Sean Masters nailed it. The characters brought the story to life perfectly, the chemistry between them was everything I would expect from Josie and Finn. I loved it. I received advanced copies of both the ebook and the audiobook. This is my honest review.

Thirty-one year old Josie McAdams is an intelligence specialist for the Jameson Force in Seattle. Most of her time is spent on computers but with this new case involving human trafficking she is in the field trying to get intel on the Russians while working with the FBI. Much to Josie's surprise, she is caught but manages to escape into the water and ends up being rescued by thirty-six year old Finn Owen Marlowe. Finn is a handsome smuggler who specializes in high-end art and antiquities along with his crew of Marcus Whitfield and Connie Modesto. Josie is hesitant but believes she can trust Finn.

Finn explains that Mikhail Sokolov works for Anatoli Voronin, very bad Russian mobsters and that they will be looking for Josie. Finn is instantly attracted to Josie but doesn't want to cross the Russians. When Josie ends up at Finn's front door asking for help, he knows he is in trouble. Finn is VERY attracted to Josie. Josie realizes that Finn is some type of criminal, but is drawn to him in ways that she cannot understand and before you know they are crossing that line into lovers and quickly turning into something more. Finn insists on protecting Josie from the Russians. Things are going great until someone double crosses Finn and danger comes calling. Once the dust settles, Finn realizes that he wants a life with Josie and does whatever he can to make that happen. Finally Finn and Josie find their happy ending.

I loved this steamy, suspenseful romance. Finn and Josie were just delicious together. Such a fun taboo of criminal and law enforcement. I enjoyed seeing some of the other Jameson agents as well as a few new faces. Overall this story had great characters, a fun storyline that keeps you reading and a beautiful love story.
