Yu Xiaowen is a broke, defective Omega, with a damaged gland that can’t be marked, so he can’t find a partner. A lonely man with no parents, and now he’s terminally ill.

Self-statement: Looking back on my life, there’s nothing I’m really attached to. Back in high school, I liked an S-class Alpha so much it almost killed me, but he took the love letter I gave him and pinned it on the school bulletin board. Because he thought my actions, and the scent of my inferior kind, were both disgusting.

That man came from a powerful family, and there was a huge gap between us. After graduation, he became even more unreachable. But by a twist of fate, I somehow ended up with a deadly secret of his in my hands…

I’m almost dying. If it were anyone else, I’d let it go. But him…

I want to disgust him one more time.

Omegaverse, a military doctor, and a cop.

Can it get any better?

The cop (the shou aka O) blackmailed the military doctor (aka A) into a relationship.

Can it get better? It can and it did but I don’t want to spoil anything.

I’m putting more effort into this review because I think this book is a little misunderstood. Yes, the cop blackmailed the gong but not out of cruelty. He is terminally ill and wants to create some memories (or fulfill one selfish wish) with the person he’s loved since middle school.

Was his behavior morally acceptable? No.

Was it emotionally understandable? Personally… yes.

And thankfully this is a happy ending.

Anyways, I really REALLY enjoyed it.

Even though I wasn’t in the right headspace during the last 30% of the book so I skimmed some of it. But life was hectic, and I can’t determine whether it was the book or just me.

Kongyun could have joined ML I’d expand their family tree list but I’m 99% sure of him so… let Xiaowen expand his family tree instead.

Well, I didn’t enjoy this book at all. I don’t really like both main characters; Lu Kongyun and Yu Xiaowei and most of all, I hate how they start their toxic and red flag relationship of theirs with a blackmail. Like, what’s wrong with plain old vanilla “Hey Lu Kongyun, I know you might know me but we used to be classmates in middle school” or something like that ffs. Also, I don’t and can’t feel Lu Kongyun’s (gong) love and sweet feelings for the shou at all, even after they finally got together. All I see a cold-hearted, stiff, and brooding man that doesn’t know how to smile and has an absolutely shitty personality all year round. And for Yu Xiaowei, I don’t like him either. What gives him the right to blackmail his old crush to trick him into spending time together with him before he dies from cancer? If only he approached Lu Kongyun casually, I swear the story will be so much better.

Why did the author write them like this? Why is the story plot all over the place? Why is everyone so infuriating? Where’s the romance?

Ngl I have quite a lot of questions to ask but I’m too lazy to write them all down here lol. I’ll give another extra because at least it has a good ending but they did become a legit canon couple at end with only about 5 chapters of the both them finally being lovers ONLY???? *sigh*

Let’s hope and pray that my next danmei read is a good one again. *huge sigh*

A good ABO story with unrequited love. Yu Xiaowen's an omega with low grade pheromones who has some type of disorder that makes him unable to be marked.

When the story begins Yu Xiaowen's also terminally ill but determined in keeping working as a police officer, when investigating one of his cases he comes upon something that if released will make trouble for the Lu family, so he decides that since he'll soon die to use this secret to blackmail Lu Kongyun, a guy he's been in love with since middle-school, to do anything he asks for so he can make some beautiful/lovely memories before he dies.

Lu Kongyun is a top doctor/researcher that comes from a powerful family and he's also a S-alpha with top grade pheromones, used to be at the top and having nothing touch him thanks to his family name so he's not exactly happy to be blackmailed.

This a HEA story, so our leads do end up together at the end, there's also a mystery/case that Yu Xiaowen has to resolve. I really liked the interaction between Yu Xiaowen and Lu Kongyun, it's cute to see Yu Xiaowen fall more in love with the present Lu Kongyun and to also see Lu Kongyun fall in love for the first time. I knocked down half a star because by the 60% mark I started to get a little bored with the stroy, I felt that the misundertanding and other things were taking to long to get resolved, I felt like I was going through a revolving door, things were happening but nothing was getting solved. Also by the end I was getting frustraded with Yu Xiaowen's attitude, I totally got why Lu Kongyun's pissed, Yu Xiaowen did everything never considering how he would feel when Yu Xiaowen died and he also never believed Lu Kongyun's feeling, never believed that Lu Kongyun could fall in love with him.

I'd have liked to read some extras to see how their lives were down the line, when they were together longer and if they ended up having kids.

I really hope the author will write stories about other characthers, like Lu Qifen and Ye Yisan and Dai Lanshan and Dai Jingxi.

And OMG I really don't like to do long reviews, guess I was inspired today.

I didn’t enjoy that the story begins with blackmail, there’s nothing about that setup that fosters a positive or healthy relationship. Much of the plot relies on miscommunication, with the characters repeatedly failing to express their true feelings, which made the reading experience frustrating overall.
