Soldier's Christmas Promise is another good book in the Home For Christmas series.

Ella is a young widow and a single mum, she came back to live with her parents and to work at their farm. A night, Dalton came to their door to help with the farm as he has promised to Andy, his late comrade and Ella's brother.

It's not easy for Dalton to feel at home and be part of a family, so I loved how Ella, Dove and her parents show him what means to be loved and cherished without overwhelm him.

Clara Pines wrote a very slow slow burn story. I liked the characters, their depth and their kind hearts, but both Ella and Dalton are reluctant to open up for most of the book. Fortunately I didn't stop to read it till the end, that is warm, happy and satisfying.

Dalton Taylor was raised in the system. When he aged out, he joined the military and met Andy. They became best friends and like family. Andy wanted him to meet his family in Trinity Falls. Andy thought he would love it there and his family. But before they get leave, Andy gets hurt. Before Andy passed away Andy asked Dalton to take care of his family and the ranch. Dalton promises. He misses his best friend every day.
Ella is Andy’s sister, who is now a young widow with a young daughter. She moved home to be with her parents because of all the losses they had. She’s happy and will never fall in love and marry again.
Dalton shows up and tells them he’s there to help around the farm. They accept their son’s best friend because they heard so much about him. Dalton’s help comes in time because Ella and her mother work it while here father is down with his back. He appreciates that they him stay there. They also treat him as part of the family. Dalton can’t help he fall for Ella and her little girl. They tend to walk around on egg shells because Dalton and Ella has chemistry. Even her parents can see. Will these two lost souls figure out what they want in life? Can they let their past go to move forward with their futures? Will Ella open up her heart? Her husband made her promise to move forward. She loved him and she doesn’t want to love and lose again. Dalton doesn’t think he’s good enough for Ella, her daughter and the parents. Will he see he’s worth it? I was rooting for all of them. They deserve a chance at love, happiness and family. It was emotional. Clara Pines made you feel everything they did. So worth the read. I received this book for my honest review. I give it voluntarily.

Soldier's Christmas Promise: Trinity Falls Sweet Romance - Home for Christmas - Book 8
The family of Andy Bennett lives all changed with a knock at their farm house door one evening. Andy’s military buddy, Dalton Tyler, introduced himself to Mr. And Mrs. Bennett, their widowed daughter, Ella . Ella’s daughter (Dove) was already in bed. Andy and Dalton had made a promise to each other that if one of them didn’t make it home from their deployment, the other would help their family in the absence of the one who didn’t make it home. Dalton was a city boy and hadn’t worked on a farm ever but he was ready to help and learn. All of their lives were changed for the better that night. But who would have guessed! This is another clean romance story that you will love. I did!

I loved the idea of this twist on the brother's best friend trope from the first time I read the blurb, but the execution was so much better than I anticipated! Ella has been through so much & her journey figuring out she's worthy of love again was beautiful. Dalton reading the letter from Andy was one of the most emotional scenes I think I've ever read. And Andy's character was so well written that it was easy to forget we never actually meet him in the book.
Also I loved Grayson's cameo at The Barrel! One of my favorite things about longer series is getting a peek at characters from other books.

Great addition to the Home For Christmas series by Clara Pines.
Ella came home with her toddler daughter four years ago after her husband died. She’s been helping on the generational family farm. Her dad hurt his back so the physical work is left to Ella and her mom since her brother died in the military.
Dalton arrives because he made a promise to her brother while they were serving together.
Dalton and Ella assume he’ll leave after the harvest but God sometimes has other plans.

I was hooked on this story from the very beginning. All of the characters are so well developed. They are supportive of one another, assuaging each other's loneliness and grief while fulfilling important promises that were made. Dalton and Ella are quite lovable and Ella's daughter Dove is adorable. As always, the town of Trinity Falls takes on its own charming persona and wraps around us like a hug. With the lovely writing and the sweet romance, this story is easy to read and entertaining.

Another great story in Trinity Falls.

Dalton and Ella’s story is so sweet and an absolutely perfect read.
Dalton is damaged in ways that don’t show on the surface. Ella is heartbroken and guilt-ridden and definitely not looking for love.
In this story there are lots of predictable moments and even more scenes I didn’t see coming. There is a beautiful happy ending, yet it will leave you wishing for more simply because you have grown to love this couple and the supporting characters so much.

Ella and Dalton

This book was so good that I stayed up all night reading it! Reading how Dalton had made a promise to Emma's brother when they were in the service together that if anything happened to him that he would go and help his family on the farm while they were grieving. And help them he did! And he fell quickly for the beautiful Ella and especially her daughter, Dove. It's a beautiful love story! I loved it!

What a wonderful heartwarming story. Ms. Pines has given us a well written, emotional storyline with amazing characters, including a precious little girl who often steals the show. As usual with her books, the storyline will pull you in, tug at your heartstrings and leave you with smiling as only Ms. Pines can do. This is Dalton and Ella’s story. Both of which have been through so much in their short lives. Ella is a single mother who has moved back to her parents farm with her young daughter, Dove, after her husband passed away. She now helps her mother run the family farm as her father suffers from a bad back. The family has also suffered another loss when Ella’s brother, Andy, is killed while serving in the military. One evening they get a surprise when Dalton shows up at their front door. He and Andy became best friends in the service, both making a promise to each other that if the worst happens they will take care of each other’s family. It’s that promise that Dalton made that had him showing up in Trinity Falls to honor his promise to his buddy. Ella and her parents welcomed Dalton with open arms. In fact the longer he was there to help out, the more he wished he could stay. But like Ella, he has locked his emotions down as his past won’t let him hope for more. Both have their own reasons to feel unworthy.

Watching Ella and Dalton learn to navigate the world after the tragic events in their lives was amazing. This is an emotional read that was simply magical. I can’t recommend it enough, I’ll just recommend you grab it up asap, you won’t regret it.

2 Thumbs Up and 5+ Stars

Heartwarming and poignant.

Once again, Clara Pines takes what could be a simple “brother’s best friend meets single mom at Christmas” story and transforms it into something profoundly touching for the heart and soul. Dalton and Ella each carry reasons they feel unworthy of love… different circumstances, but the same impact. Both have wonderful hearts, yet hesitate to let anyone in.

Ella and her daughter, Dove, have returned to Trinity Falls after the death of Ella’s husband. She and her mother are now running the family farm, as her father’s injury prevents him from taking a hands-on role. The loss of her brother Andy has left another empty space in her heart. Dalton, Andy’s best friend from the military, arrives to honor his promise to take care of Andy’s family if he didn’t make it home.

I loved watching the friendship between Ella and Dalton unfold; it develops gradually and naturally. Dalton’s bond with Dove is absolutely the sweetest depiction of an adult forming a connection with a child that I’ve ever read. There are so many poignant moments that filled my heart with warmth. Dove’s precociousness and her earnest desire to see her mother happy added so much charm and depth to the story.

The family’s welcoming reception of Dalton gives him pause and offers the sense of home and belonging he has sought throughout his life. I found myself smiling throughout, and my heart felt full when Ella and Dalton finally found their way to each other. This is another wonderful addition to what is quickly becoming one of my favorite series!

Dalton Tyler hadn’t come from the greatest life at all, he had gone through the “system” going from foster home to foster home. When he was given the chance he joined the military and met Andy, someone who would become his best friend. The two of them made a pact while serving, if anything happened to Andy, Dalton would go to Trinity Falls and help on the family farm. Dalton never imagined he would actually have to follow through with it, but he did. He immediately felt welcome and as days past, Dalton realized that this was home. The problem was that he was falling for Andy’s widowed sister Ella and her beautiful little girl Dove. Both of them are hiding their hearts because of what they have each been through. Are they both willing to risk it all? Especially when a little girl has just one wish…a daddy in her life.

Once again Clara Pines captures our attention in this book from the start and holds on to it until the end. People in her book come from all walks of life, each with their own story that sometimes is in plain sight and other times is hidden. All these characters old and new intermingle to create this beautiful clean romance that wants us craving more.

Thanks to 1852 Media and the author for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Keeping his promise to his best friend who would never return home was utmost important to Dalton. When he finished his time in the service he headed straight to Trinity Falls and Andy’s family farm. Not use to a warm and friendly welcome Dalton felt a bit out of place. And as he learns the in and outs of sweet potato farming, he is enchanted with little Dove. A six year old that is such a sweetheart and big on hugging. And even more so with her mother Ella, Andy’s widowed sister.
Ella is surprised when a total stranger shows up and states he is there fulfilling his promise to Andy to help on the farm. Something that her and her mom has been doing for four years, ever since her dad had to stop working because of his back. The extra hands at harvest time was a blessing.
Can Dalton and Ella forgive their past and broken hearts and move forward and find their HEA? Read and find out. A sweet clean romance with wonderful characters. Thank you to the author for this ARC, the opinions expressed are my own and mine alone.

We are back in Trinity Falls with another touching , clean romance. This time the story belongs to Dalton Tayler, former serviceman determined to fulfill a promise he made to his fallen teammate, Andy. Whom he never expected to have change his life forever is Andy’s sister, widow Ella and her shy and sweet daughter, Dove.
Dalton is here to help the family with their farm and it ends up that he is will be the one who receives the greatest gift. Never having had a family, Dalton embraces the warmth of this close knit family . A family who considers him one of their own.
As the days go by, and feelings intensify, will Dalton feel good enough to truly become one of their own? Will he be brave enough to tell Ella how he feels? And will Ella take a step towards happiness, let go of the guilt and finding love a second time around?
The author delivers another winner in the series.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my owb.

Soldier’s Christmas Promise is widower and single mum Ella and Dalton Taylor’s beautifully written romance set in the small town of Trinity Falls. It’s book eight in the Trinity Falls Sweet Romance; Home for Christmas Series and I adored everything about this sweet and magical story.
Dalton was raised in the system and as soon as he could he joined the military where he met Andy a man who went on to become his best friend. Andy promised to take him home to meet his family but before they could leave Andy got hurt. So the journey was left for Dalton to make alone.
Ella is back home with her parents and her daughter, Dove after losing her husband. She has vowed never to love again so what happens when she spends time with the hot stranger who was her brother’s best friend.
I smiled and I swooned as I cheered this couple on, I fell hard and fast for the characters and I loved their magical and romantic story.

I loved Dalton and Ella. Dalton is fulfilling a promise to his best friend when he shows up at his buddy’s parent’s house. He is quiet, helpful and connects with everyone, including Ella’s daughter. Ella has lost a lot in her life, not only her brother, but her husband. She struggles with her feelings a lot.

He doesn’t feel like he is good enough due to his past and she doesn’t think she deserves to find love again. I liked how they each made the other see their situation from another perspective. Dove, her daughter is adorable and helps the connection grow deeper. Their pasts are different but similar in one way, loss. Just when they grow close he takes a situation with her dad on the exact opposite way she does and he decides he needs to leave.

She has one chance to get him to stay and hopes it works. The letter was a nice touch and there wasn’t much to dislike in this book. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

Every book in this series just gets sweeter and sweeter and this book had me swooning. Dalton and Ella were magical together and when Ella’s daughter and parents get into the mix it is such a heart warming family novel that leaves you wanting more of these beautiful characters. This book is emotional for both Dalton and Ella as they have suffered loss in their lives and they both are trying very hard to deal with their loss and heal and find redemption in their lives. I loved the story especially how it was Ella’s deceased brother that brings Ella and Dalton together when Dalton comes to their farm to help them after he made a promise to Andy that he would help his family. This is a fabulous series and I highly recommend if you want to read a beautiful series that is focused on family and friends.

We’re back in Trinity Falls and my heart is full again. Dalton, a former soldier who is trying to complete a promise he made to his fallen friend, who is the brother of Andy. But what Dalton did not expect was for his life to turn completely around with meeting Andy and her sweet little girl Dove

Dalton comes to help out on the family farm as he promised but as time passes, he starts to feel at home with his adopted family. Spending his time with Andy and her little girl gives him a glimpse of what could be. But was Andy hurt too much to let herself open up again to the possibility of new love?

This story will pull at your heart, because you can not help but root for our wounded souls to find solace in each other's arms.

Two adults, damaged by tragic circumstances in the past, are united by the death of a much-loved soldier and the loving acceptance of an endearingly spontaneous little girl.
Ella and her gentle daughter, Dove, had been living with her parents on the family farm since the death of her husband when Dalton, a veteran who served with Ella’s late brother, arrives to fulfil his promise to Andy. Ella and Dalton resist the attraction they feel for one another, despite the encouragement and unstinting affection Dove and Ella’s parents show towards Dalton.
Ms Pines creates characters who, by their words and actions, help readers to continue to believe in the innate goodness of human nature. This has been my favourite Trinity Falls novel since I started receiving the series as ARC books from the author.

“Soldier's Christmas Promise” is the 8th phenomenal book in the Trinity Falls Sweet Romance series ‘Home for Christmas’ ... Right from the get-go, I did not want to put it down at all! ... Ella is a young, widowed mom of an adorable 5-year-old daughter named Dove, who she sometimes calls ‘Birdie’ ... They move back home again to be with her family on the farm after 2 devastating losses... I love the new & familiar characters, and the descriptions pull the reader into the warmth of family, community, love and healing! ... Even tho I volunteered to read this book, these are my own opinions without any outside influences, so I can honestly recommend this & any of Ms. Pines must-reads to all fans of fiction of any age & I can’t wait for more, but I definitely will ;)

What an emotional journey through the eyes of a lonely soldier. Dalton had one best friend that he met in the Military. He makes a promise to his best friend and he keeps that promise. Ella has seen her share of tragedy but she has to continue on for her daughter’s sake. Trinity Falls is a very caring community that loves Christmas, each other, and their retired military veterans. I felt everything that these characters went through. God has certainly blessed Clara Pines with the ability to reach every person that reads her book. They are my all time favorite Christmas romance books ever. I never want her books to end. They are always full of love and great lessons on how we should treat other. Fantastic job by this author. “I received ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.”

We are back in Trinity Falls for a wonderful Holiday story! Ella is the daughter of Michael and Mary. Ella has suffered several losses in her life. She moves home to be with her parents and daughter, Dove. Dalton arrives in Trinity Falls to fulfill his promises. He is an honorable and trustworthy man. What ensues is a story filled with past heartaches, regrets, secrets, family, friends laughter, silliness and tears. Well written and heartfelt! Just when you think things are heading in the right direction a simple misunderstanding might send Dalton running. Can Ella, Dove, the magic of Christmas and Trinity Falls right their course? You don’t want to miss this story and tissues might be called for. 5+ stars.

This will take your heart and won't let go as Dalton and Ella grow closer. I could not put this down. You need to read this now.
