When Renée Griffith Grantham expressed to a friend that she planned to compile her writings when she returned to Missouri from her childhood home of Montana, she could not have known that just weeks later, her vibrant life would end suddenly in a cycling accident. Yet through her words, Renée’s radiant spirit lives on. Effervescent gathers her heartfelt reflections and prayers into a single, joy-filled anthology that brims with her love for God, people, and the world around her. With creative whimsy, depth, and unwavering conviction, Renée invites readers to consider what it means for the love of God to permeate every moment of life. Organized around four themes—Beginning, Following, Loving, and Finishing—this collection overflows with honest struggle, theological insight, humor, and hope. Whether read devotionally or explored piece by piece, Effervescent offers the companionship of a faithful friend whose words sparkle with wisdom, courage, and contagious joy.

“Renée is a gifted storyteller. Her stories go beyond whispering the name of Christ to shouting, singing, dancing, weeping, laughing, and even remaining in hushed silence in the wonder and awe of Christ. Some reflections are lighthearted and bring a smile and laughter. Others ponder the depths and riches of a God who calls us by name and invites us to follow Him. Her writing reflects her own effervescence infused with the depth of her theological understanding lived out in joyful surrender and obedience to loving Christ and His creation. She radiated His presence, and her reflections invite us to be and do the same. This is not a book to be read quickly. Some reflections invite soul searching, longer periods of reflection, wonder, and surrender.”
