This was more like a 3.75 for me⭐️ Have I read similar books to this one? Yes, but that’s actually why I picked it up - I love a premise where a baddie FMC has *secrets*, and must go to fancy school where she meets a band of bros that she whips into shape, until they are drooling after her. This book definitely served in that regard, and if you love that too, you’ll definitely enjoy reading this one!
Despite loving the plot, there were two issues I had that prevented me from rating it 5 stars. The first being the editing, spelling and grammar mistakes. Now I don’t mind a few oopsies, I get it happens, but the level of mistakes was incredibly distracting. Words that aren’t actually words, or words used in the wrong context (consul vs console). Mistakes like “here” instead of “her”, and virtually no comma usage. All of these things just took me out of the story, which is disappointing because this would be a truly awesome book if it just had a strong edit!
The second issue was the constant talk about her scars. Now don’t get me wrong, I love when a character isn’t physically perfect, but this felt more like a trope for the MMCs to obsess over way beyond the typical “who did this to you”. It wasn’t the scars or the trauma past that bothered me, it was that they seemed to be the only character development that she had, and the majority of her interactions revolved around them.
Will I read the next book?? Absolutely - like I said I’m a sucker for this kind of premise and it truly was an entertaining read. I just hope the next one has some tweaks to make it stronger!

The book was great and I definitely will read the next. The mystery, the suspense I love it but to honest I’m also confused about the guys. I can’t keep them straight and the switch between first and last name is really bothering me in this book for some reason. I mostly just used context clues when I had no idea what guy she was speaking to but sometime I was just following allow with the scenes with no idea which guy she was speaking to. Maybe my reading will change after a reread if I do one. I might just be tired or didn’t pay attention in the beginning well enough.

So, I was taken in by the fact that the FMC seemed charming at first. She has a Wednesday vibe, MMCs don't interest her, unlike sisterhood (I'm still waiting for someone to write a why-choose where FMC screws her asshole harem and goes off into the sunset with her girlfriends to live their HEA).
But in the end, it all devolved into nonsense. The plot thrashed around like a scalded cat. Scraps of worn-out tropes were thrown into the cauldron without decent explanation (rebels out of the blue? yes! twins? please, two pairs!).
In short, I really need to quit RH; I'm just grumbling and ruining the ratings of indie authors.

NEED THE NEXT BOOK!
I did it again! I started a book series when the second book is not even published yet! This book is going to be living in my head for months now! Why can’t I have the second book already! I want to jump inside K.R. Simons head and just read the story from start to end there. This was such a great read! Waiting anxiously for the next books!

May 31, 2026MFMMMMM - I read book 1 quickly. I like FMCs who don’t give the MMCs the time of day.
Book 2 though, DNF. The plot didn’t hold my interest. Also how book 2 addresses the FMCs trauma wasn’t to my taste. Parts of it were hinted at in book 1 but talked about more in book 2 and the MMCs help her overcome it. the MMC who looks most her abuser (because they’re related) is the MMC of choice for this bc he’s the only one who doesn’t mind causing her pain? The entirety of the trauma aspect in book 2 wasn’t for me

No need for sleep
I picked this up and didn't put it down until I finished. I loved this book, Mayvin is so badass! You should definitely read this book! I can't wait for book 2 to see what happens next.

pleasantly surprised
This book was such a good story. I really enjoyed everything about it from the characters, story, plot etc.
There’s a scene with a willow tree, aura and a song which was so special.
I definitely recommend this book.
The only down side is the layout - it’s gapy? Is that the word? Where it’s a sentence or two, then a space, then another one.
I personally struggle with the layout and find it hard to read but that’s because my adhd tends to think that as soon as there’s a gap that it’s a new chapter/subject etc so it’s probably fine for most people but I struggled with that aspect of it.
If it wasn’t for that and a spelling errors I would have given it 5*.
Again though, the layout is a person thing and the spelling is definitely overlook able.

3.5* Interesting
This book deserves more stars AfteR proper editing.
The beginning there is a hit and miss depending on your reading mood. Like I said, proper editing would have gone a long way. Try stick with it though.
There were parts where I didn't care for the heroine at all. Especially with Callahan, he's was the nicest MMC and she treated him like he had cooties. Every single time but was busy "panting" after the professor..... There is nothing romantic about the heroine and the MMCs which is a bit of a downer for me because I like my action sprinkled with some romance of some sort.
All that aside, this is actually a refreshing plot, kept us guessing what was going to happen and why. To be fair even with the cliff hanger nothing has really been answered, we are still guessing.
I liked her roommate Julia and her boyfriend Asher they were good people and loyal. They actually made Minerva likable, not sure how far I would have read if not for them.
I actually want to know what happens next.

Negatives:
Was this proofread at all? There are so many typos that it just taints the whole read. Not only typos but punctuation errors and it just seems like pure laziness when you misspell one of your own characters names.
Positives:

So, let me get this straight...
This author went on to write and release a second book in this series, despite the fact that this first book quite literally hasn't even been run through the most basic of spellchecks - hand to god, the simplest of goddamn proofreading hasn't even been within smelling range of this book. I could have run this thing through Microsoft Word - the 1998 edition! - and fixed half the errors. Like... did you and Clippy have a falling out??
I want to support indie authors, but the sheer disregard for their readers with this crap is rage inducing. You want a better rating? Fix your slop.
They even misspell their own damn character several times. And the malapropisms... ffs the malapropisms are so innumerous that trying to stay immersed was an impossibility.

A Rune’s Blood Moon was such a fun read! One of my favorite parts was the main character’s personality—she was incredibly sassy, witty, and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. Her sarcasm and comebacks added so much humor to the story and made her stand out from a lot of other fantasy heroines. She had enough confidence to challenge the people around her, even when she was completely outmatched, which made her entertaining to follow.
The story also kept me interested with its mix of magic, mystery, and paranormal romance. There were plenty of twists, secrets, and moments that made me want to keep turning the pages. While the pacing slowed down a little in a few places as the world was being built, it was worth sticking with because everything started coming together.
Overall, I really enjoyed this first book and can’t wait to continue the series. If you like fantasy romances with a strong, sarcastic heroine, magical secrets, and plenty of tension, I definitely recommend giving this one a try.

Really enjoyed this. Sometimes I found it quite hard to follow. I felt like I had missed bits and went back to reread but couldn’t find anything. I don’t know if this is because it’s supposed to be mysterious so little bits of information are being dropped in without any context but I did find that hard.
I also struggled to differentiate for the MMCs. I found it hard to keep track of who each one was. I think this is because names kept switching between first and last. Also some of the MMCs hardly featured so when they were referenced, I struggled to remember what they were/what power they held. It wasn’t always clear who the FMC was talking to and I felt like I was guessing at times.
The spelling and grammar was terrible. Some sentences I found really hard to understand because of how they were written and had to kept going back to try and understand what was being said.
Overall though, I enjoyed the storyline and will be continuing with book 2.

I can’t explain why but I found this book very hard to read. It is definitely a me problem, but I couldn’t concentrate on the words…

I really enjoyed A Rune's Blood Moon. The story pulled me in right away with its unique take on vampires, magic, and academy life. Mavyn is a strong and interesting main character, and I found myself rooting for her as she navigated a world that seems determined to make her fail.
The mix of mystery, prophecy, danger, and romance kept me turning the pages, and the world-building was intriguing without feeling overwhelming. If you enjoy fantasy with supernatural elements, hidden secrets, and compelling characters, this book is definitely worth checking out.

Gosh. I am now officially a worshiper of Mavy. She is everything.
I went into this blind, saw a quote post somewhere and ugh I am obsessed with this world and the magic systems.
I will say that going into this, I did see others making note of a few typos and errors but that usually doesnt stop me from reading, and I am so glad because I would have missed out on this epic story.
Now im off to start book 2 because WHAT DO YOU MEAN!!!!!

This is reverse harem done right and I love the FMC. She’s strong without being stubborn to the point of her own demise which is for some reason so hard to find these days.
The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star is grammar, a bit too much modern slang or head nods to romantasy books, and the pace of time felt weird or sometimes inconsistent.
But the overall plot and characters are great and I just had fun reading it.

Amazing read that everything you want in a book
Loved the MC loved her strength and the mystery she stillis. Fun read with intrigue creativity intricacy and slow burn romance that warms the soul. Family found family love pain and resilience are persistent themes here. Can't wait to read this authors other works.

Great Read!
Very interesting storyline and a fabulous read. Marked it down a couple of stars as I had to re-read some sentences as they were worded strangely and generally needed some further editing throughout. Also because I felt at times there was too much of Mavyn’s thought process repeating.
Can’t wait for book 2!

A fantastic storyline and that's why I gave it 5 stars.... But it might be the worst edited book I've read. A mix of mixed up words and misspellings that a basic spell check should have caught. Very odd sentences. Some of it felt like it had been translated into English after being originally written in another language. Even with all that, 5 stars! Make them pay queen.

DNF @77% - needs proofreading
The story was…ok. I really wanted to love it, but it got pretty repetitive and had high angst which irritates me. It also needs something more than a spellchecker. There are many missed homophones (vile instead of vial for example) and other typos (cleaver instead of clever). It’s got potential, but needs some more work to make it worth it.

J'ai accroché vraiment jusqu'au 3/4 du livres. Après, j'ai trouve vraiment frustrant comment la FMC réagissait, toujours indépendante et froid, ainsi que les MMCs. Ce livre n'était pas fait pour moi, je suppose. Vous pouvez toujours l'essayer. Je crois qu'il a une bonne histoire qui se passe en arrière de tout ça.

3.5 ⭐️ I did LOVE the story and originality!! however there were some errors and I had quite a hard time differentiating the characters (especially with the inconsistent usage of first and last names), sometimes I had no clue who the FMC was talking to (full disclosure I have no idea who Darian and who Thorne is…) Nevertheless the FMC is a badass and I would read the next book!
