Ayub Khawar is a Pakistani TV director and Urdu poet. Born in Chakwal, Punjab he later moved to Karachi to live with his father and stepmother. His childhood was somewhat difficult but nevertheless he passed his matriculation exams from Maqbool-e-Aam High School and started writing prose and poetry. His writings appeared in monthly Funoon under famous writer Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi. In 1975 he passed Masters in Urdu literature from Karachi University and joined Pakistan Television as a producer until his retirement in 2005. He won PTV National Award 7 times for his productions and many famous dramas are credited to him. He also write poetry and has published 4 books.
