People with no background of art but is very much interested with it, read this book!
Polisci majors who want to write of art but has a hard time humbling down the topic and making it socially relevant, read this book!!!!
I cannot highlight how much Matthew Collings helped me understand more about civilisation and how it was reflected on the period’s art (and vice versa). As someone who isnt fond of modern art, Collings was somehow able to give me a new perspective of it, referencing arguments from marxism and other ancient philosophers that somehow made sense!!!
Either way, loved it, would do anything to experience this book all over again.
