A book I came across while trying to find a book I read as a child. Similar plot, but not the right book! I think I'd like to own the books with plots matching the one I was looking for, to have a neat little collection!

The world had no color. The gods selected one peoson who would be given colorful paints and would paint them pictures. The girl would watch her father paint in awe. One day he took his best painting to the gods, leaving his daughter at home. She went into the room with the paints and began paintign outside. She painted leaves green, the roosters head red, and many more things to make them beautiful. Her father came home and was furious with what he seen. He yelled so loud that the gods appeared. The girl went forward to receive her punishment, but instead the gods smiled and turned evrythign to color. It stayed that way forever.

My favorite childhood book. I must have checked it out of the library about a hundred times. I wish I could find a copy of it now!!
