She's trained to save lives. She never expected to save his soul.
Combat medic Lieutenant Alex Pierce has one keep soldiers alive long enough to get them home. She's good at it—steady hands, quick thinking, no room for emotion. Until a Special Forces operator crashes into her field hospital with eighteen pieces of shrapnel in his chest and a death wish in his eyes.
Staff Sergeant Logan Cross should be dead. Would be dead, if Alex hadn't spent three hours pulling him back from the edge. But surviving and living are two different things—and Logan stopped wanting to live six months ago, when a bad call got three of his men killed.
He's determined to die. She's determined to prove him wrong.
As Alex fights to heal Logan's body, she finds herself drawn to the broken man beneath the armor. He's gruff, guarded, and convinced he doesn't deserve a second chance. She's stubborn, compassionate, and absolutely certain he's wrong.
Their connection is immediate. Forbidden. Undeniable.
But in a war zone where tomorrow is never guaranteed, falling in love might be the bravest—and most dangerous—mission either of them has ever faced.
This book, Breaking Point, is the 1st book in the Shattered Valor series. The book blurb was well written, and the book lived up to it. This was a very emotional story with Staff Sergeant Logan Cross critically injured and wanting to die, and Combat medic Lieutenant Alex Pierce is the one to keep him alive. The book had an interesting storyline, wonderful characters with a mix of suspense, anxiety, action, humor, and love!!! I loved this book and will be looking forward to the next book in the series. This story deserves more than 5 stars, thank you Ms. Storm!!!
