Captain Alexandra/Alex Pierce has grown a hard shell having been through hell and back as well as through loss. Also in the broken engagement between her and bad ass Special Ops Logan Cross. Two years have passed.
Now she’s a commander in the field and her unit assigned to a forward operating base. Logan, he’s already in place there. But she doesn’t go there. With a mission to fulfill, there’s only going over the hill to fill her head. Especially as something stills in his head. He’s an empty unemotional shell. He’s been through hell as well but the war inside his head is the one that won’t quiet. The one that regrets ,every single day that he left her behind.
Does he allow his heart to rule his head? Does she? She clawed herself back and she’s on the attack. There is no going back. They’re at close quarters and trapped and it’s written in all that he is that he’s still rapt.
Perhaps but it’s intelligence that plans the next move,when there’s everything to prove as well as disprove on the ground,and whether their intelligence is sound….
Told in dual person ,this really is a terse one. A self preservation or something else. Because the non fraternisation rule speaks up itself and it’s now something else that they fight this day.
Can they endure, find secure defences and keep each other safe. He has her back, she is brave. Do they belong together ,or are they deprave and every second guess is a mess, threatening their units into body bags no less. Under duress they need to survive at all costs. Second chances in the arena of war, does indeed exist but it’s raw and not exactly waiting for an encore. Wowed by this. Attention held throughout . This is a great book by Luna Storm of that there’s no doubt.

This is a story that contains a second chance with a ton of drama andconfluct.
Alex is trying to rebuild her life and has been given a new post to command.
Alex is a strong woman character. She is smart and knows what she wants but won't be a pushover.
She is surprised to see Logan, her ex fiance, is stationed at the vase. She thought he might be dead because he just left.
Logan is a man who who doesn't feel like much of a man. He is dealing with past trauma. The trauma that drove him from Alex.
Can these two deal with their feelings for each other, and all the baggage that has, and also find the mole at the base that is causing the death of their fellow soldiers?

This book was a read full of complexities. It was so sweet and heartwarming one moment and heartbreaking the next. I wen5 on a true emotional rollercoaster with this story. And I loved every single moment of it. I was pulled in to it from the very first chapter. Logan and Alex worked together so well. They have a truly wonderful push and pull between them that made turning the next page an easy decision.

Alex is the new commanding officer of an overseas operation and runs into her true love Alex. Alex is a special forces officer and they were almost married 2 years before when he panicked and left her without a word. Now he's back and determined to win her back. Can she trust that he won't do this again? What about the fact that she is his boss and they have a leak in the base who is killing officers? Great action and romance.

Alex and Logan have been through so much and then they are thrown into another terrifying ordeal. Logan has endure more than anyone should have to and with everything he had to endure Alex went through heart wrenching heartbreak losing half her unit and Logan. This heart breaking, suspense filled, action packed book is full of emotion, love and steam. If you’re looking for a book that is perfectly balanced and the main characters have to earn their HEA this is an incredible read.

Such a sweet but sometimes heartbreaking story about Alex and Logan. To hear what Logan had to endure and all he had to give up on in his life. But then to see the strength it gave Alex to become who she did. And in the end after another terrifying ordeal they somehow survive and find a way to be together and have their HEA.

Boy, this was a heartbreaking story at times reading all that Logan had to endure. It was also a sweet second chance romance with Alex. It was an interesting storyline that certainly kept my attention and it was especially nice to see them finally come together. I'd certainly be interested in reading more from this author.

This is the first book in the Shattered Valor series. It’s an amazing second chance, military romance. He disappeared without warning and now they cross paths again. Alex and Logan are great characters in their own ways. I enjoyed the drama, mystery and intrigue in this story. It’s emotional, sweet, heartfelt and romantic. Loved it
