Albert is awake in the early predawn hours, and is startled to find a mysterious and frightening visitor waiting for him on his porch. The uninvited visitor enters his home, and the conversation that follows will change everything Albert knows about the world and the life he has lived. A choice is presented to him that will unravel the history of his family and determine the outcome of all that he loves.

This is a short story, just over 6k words. The author intends to continue this story in a second installment picking up where this story leaves off.
