⏳ Love Worth Waiting For

From USA Today best selling author Scarlett Cole, writing as S. Cole, comes an electrifying MMF, grumpy x sunshine x lightning, motorcycle club romance.

Isla
I wanted to be loved by a biker with my whole heart, but all they ever took was my body.
Somewhere along the way, I stopped recognizing the woman I’d become.
Inheriting my Nanna’s rundown house is the fresh start I need.
A life away from the club. Away from men who only ever take.
So the last thing I need is Jackal and Shade moving into the only other house on the street...and offering me more than just help with renovations.

Shade
I’ve never thought I was worth loving.
I’m grumpy, withdrawn, and come with baggage.
Jackal saw through all that and loved me anyway. For me, he chose monogamy.
Men like me don’t get one great love, let alone two.
But I’m looking at Isla differently now...and wondering if there’s a way to love her without destroying what we’ve built.

Jackal
I fell in love with Shade the day I met him, even though he had no intention of loving me back.
He wanted monogamy, and he was worth the sacrifice.
But now he’s looking at Isla the same way I am.
And I can’t stop imagining a life where the three of us choose each other.

Until violence hits, and we don’t know which of us is the target.
We’ve been given the kind of love you only dare to hope for.
And we’ll burn the world down to protect it.

Four-time RITA finalist, Scarlett Cole, is a contemporary romantic suspense / contemporary romance author (represented by Louise Fury at The Bent Agency) who calls both Toronto, Canada and Manchester, England home. A born city dweller, she periodically quashes the urge to live in the country by hiking up a mountain to remind herself that living away from people would terrify the pants off her.

She believes everybody deserves their love story to be told and loves her heroes on the rough and rugged side…and usually tall (because she married one of those 6ft 6” men you read about in romance!). She’s an A-type personality and Scorpio star sign, so good luck getting her to do anything she doesn’t want to.

When she isn’t writing, she’s happy to talk hot men and expensive shoes while drinking a cold gin and tonic. Don’t bring up olives. As far as Scarlett is concerned, they are the devil’s food. As long as you don’t bring up olives, she’s happy to hear from any time.

An emotional MC romance with a twist, where an in-the-closet MM couple develops a MMF relationship with a somewhat traumatised ex club girl. The dramatic love story had me completely invested, with danger and suspense adding intensity, and I loved this story.

This is the final book in the Iron Outlaws MC: Colorado series, and though there is a lot of character crossover, you can read this book as a standalone. There is some history with the main characters in this book, particularly Isla, but honestly, I had forgotten most of those details from earlier books, and there’s enough background given in this one that you won’t feel lost.

Jackal and Shade are nomad Iron Outlaw members who have decided to settle in Colorado with the local chapter. They are in a loving, long term, committed relationship, though nobody knows, and they are settling into life as enforcers with their new chapter. Isla used to be a club girl. She’s been with most of the men in the club and previously caused problems by trying to come between other couples, but she’s had an awakening and walked away from the club, horrified by her past actions and is creating a new life for herself. Her first step is moving into and renovating her late grandmother’s remote farmhouse, but her fresh start is interrupted when Jackal and Shade move into the house across the street.

Isla wants nothing to do with the bikers across the street, but when she runs into trouble, Jackal and Shade are there to protect her. They get to know each other, become friendly, and feelings start to develop.

“We didn’t see you at the club because you were so masked up in what you thought being a club girl was that you never showed us who you really are.”

The shift to more comes quickly, and I would have liked a little more build-up, given that Jackal and Shade have only ever been monogamous and Isla is still traumatised by her experiences. That said, it’s functional, and the way it unfolds feels believable, especially as one of them has prior experience with polyamory. Jackal and Shade are an established couple, and they communicate so well that bringing Isla into their relationship feels natural. They’re open with her, making sure she knows what they want and offering their hearts without any pressure and ensuing she’s ok with it all at every step. Watching them earn her trust and win her heart while never undermining or diminishing their own relationship is really beautifully done.

I probably shouldn’t listen to their conversation, but I can’t help myself. I want to hear Kai fall in love. I want to watch him do it. I’ll always lead us in the bedroom, but in truth, he’s always known more about how to love and be loved than I do. I need him to show me the path to follow in this, because without him, I’m sure as fuck gonna get lost.

I am a prolific reader and usually forget the minor details of books I’ve read by the time the next in the series comes out. I don’t remember Isla’s evil deeds from previous books, which I think is a good thing because I went into this with fresh eyes, and could empathise with her from the very beginning. I could feel her pain, her disillusionment and anger with herself, and I appreciated how far she had come in her journey to accept responsibility for all that happened and slowly start to come to terms with what she subjected herself to, and why. I was impressed, but my heart ached for her.

I spent so long performing and faking. Pretending I was game for anything, when the truth is it broke a piece of me each time I did something I knew I didn’t want to, but smiled anyway.

Jackal and Shade are fantastic characters, and their romance is just gorgeous. Jackal is sweet and friendly, while Shade is this big, gruff guy who never knew love until Jackal came along and loved him unconditionally. Their relationship is strong, you can see that they’ve been through hard times, but they’re in love and deeply committed, and I loved their relationship.

I lean in and place my forehead to his. “Listen to me and listen well. I have spent years loving you in a way the world doesn’t always have room for. I chose you every single day when it would’ve been easier to disappear.” I breathe him in and kiss him. “You loving her doesn’t take anything away from you and me. It makes us bigger.”

The two men stole my heart with how they were with each other, and with Isla, and it’s so beautiful to see Isla accepted with such open hearts as she gains the courage to allow herself to trust her men and fall so completely for them. It’s an emotional connection (as well as a physical one - though not as steamy as I was expecting), and I loved seeing these three get their happy ending

Being in the MC world, there is action and violence, and heartpounding suspense. With all three of them seemingly under threat, the story kept me guessing and the ending is intense and exciting, bringing great opportunities for displays of protective badassery, and it makes the happy ending even sweeter.

The rest of the boys from the MC are a part of the story, and I loved seeing them again. Not only as continuation for their own stories, but also seeing their reactions to the new developments. They’re a great bunch with strong dynamics, and there is some really nice closure provided for the group as a whole.

I loved this book, and all of the characters from the Colorado chapter. I’m looking forward to seeing the action shift to Florida in the new Iron Outlaws MC series.

4 stars.

I binged it, I could not put it down.

I’ve been waiting for Jackal and Shade’s story since the first time I met them in the series but never would would I have imagined how good the story will be.

I honestly don’t know who is my favorite character of the three, I love them all.

Shade is such a gentle grump, that just can’t sit by and let anyone struggle. He’s also still learning to accept he’s worthy of love.

Jackal is just sunshine in biker form. He’s ready to love and be loved, he’s sweet and loyal and knows that love just multiplies.

I absolutely loved the beautiful and healthy relationship they have even if they felt the need to keep it hidden from the world and their club brothers.

And the way they treated and approach Isla was just perfect. The care, love and attention they have for her is so beautiful. And at all times, they give her understanding and patience to find her way to them.

As for Isla, I think that she’s become one of my favorite FMCs of the series.
She’s made mistakes and most of all she’s lost herself in being a club girl, trying to do anything just to be chosen. But finally, she understood she needs to choose herself, to stop accepting things she’s not comfortable with just please and avoid conflict.

I loved her self-discovery journey, her strength and her determination to stay true to herself and to accept and love the different sides of herself.

I have received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

This one was a bit weird for me. The start seemed to be filled with despair, mostly for Isla as she navigates what she wants her life to be. A bit from the guys as they settle down and hope the club accepts them. I did love how the guys were with Isla at the start, just trying to help her, even if at times she was rude. Yet I get why she was rude, her head was coming to terms with choices she made that were murky. It was great to see how things worked out between the trio and how well they all matched.

Also interesting was how the club reacted to everything, the guys being together and Isla then joining them. So while there was that despair at the start, there was so much hope at the end, even with what happened. The trio really found their stride, happy with how their comingled lives were and happy with their place in the club.

The Hope We Dare is book seven in the Iron Outlaws MC: Colorado series, and apparently the final book. This is an MMF grumpy/sunshine biker/club‑girl romance that focuses on Jackal (Kai), Shade (Garrett), and Isla.

When we first met Jackal and Shade, they arrived as Iron Outlaw Nomads. Throughout the series, their strength, loyalty, and dominance have always shined through. Jackal and Shade are more than club brothers, more than friends, more than chosen family… they’re lovers. Their love for each other was swoony and genuinely adorable.

Isla was the girl you loved to hate throughout the series; catty, meddling, and always inserting herself into relationships she had no business touching. Who knew that underneath all that attitude was a desperate woman looking for love and fighting her own demons. She puts in the work here, facing her trauma and peeling back the masks, and she actually becomes a surprisingly pleasant person once you see the real her.

Their story blends violence, action, angst, and suspense. There’s also family drama, light spice, plot twists, and some good old‑fashioned redemption. Shade and Isla do a lot of growing in this book, and their similarities become more and more apparent. Jackal, Mr. Charismatic, is the glue that binds them all together, at least in my opinion.

WoW!

I don’t think I can ever get tired of Scarlett Cole’s writing style.
She offers a different view of MC romance. It’s smarter and more refined.
It was refreshing to read Isla’s POV and understand her traumas.
What a great story! I absolutely loved all the main characters.

This series has been such a disappointment. To clarify, the writing and story telling itself is fabulous. The rest has been ridiculous. And now with this story I’m supposed to believe that the old ladies are all going to welcome back the former club girl who’s slept with ALL their men, open arms? While she’s now going to be the old lady to one … or two…? Of the brothers? Gross. No. And those two dudes aren’t going to care that she’s slept with all their brothers? I don’t care how it’s written. Just no.

Edited to say I skimmed through to see if there was any way I could possibly like it. Excuse me - Grudge views Isla with the same fondness as a first love? Wasn’t LUCY his first love?! WTH?! Literally the way the other men were written to view Isla in this book came this close to nullifying their own love stories. No idea what Scarlett was thinking with this book or the entire series.

Wow! I'm almost at a loss for words. This book was that good. I thought Wren and Catfish's book was good, but this one topped it, which I didn't think was possible. This author, however, seems to always find a way to one-up herself.

This story is about a throuple, two men and one woman. I wasn't sure how it would work, but the author found a way to seamlessly blend their lives through shared trauma, similar backgrounds, shared grief, shared healing, patience, love, understanding, and infinite possibilities.

Kai (Jackal) is probably the most playful of the group. He has no problem showing his affection for people, and he is the first to jump with both feet, no breaks needed, into a commitment. He has no problem showing his love and devotion to those he loves and cares about. His and Garrett's relationship is definitely one for the books.

Garrett (Shade) is just as his nickname says, a big teddy bear. Even though he is 10 years older than Kai, because of his painful, traumatic childhood, he is more jaded and reserved in expressing his feelings and affections. Even after 5 years together, he still doubts Kai's long-term commitment to him. He's convinced that one day the other shoe will drop and Kai will realize he deserves better than Garrett. While he is slow to give his heart away, once he does, he gives it all.

It is important to note that while Garrett is a serial monogamist, Kai is more of a polyamorous person, due to the influence of his parents' polyamorous relationship status. Kai agreed when he and Garrett got together that he would also be monogamous. He wasn't willing to risk losing Garrett for another person. Until the right person showed up, that is.

Isla, a former club girl, has recently moved into the house across the street from where Kai and Garrett have just moved. It's the first time any of the three have owned their own place, and they are all looking to put down roots and start fresh. Isla was also trying to distance herself from the club and her past behaviors, including being a club girl. No one in the club knew why Isla had left, though. She just quit coming one day. Garrett and Kai are quick to decide they will find out, and that, even though she has stated she doesn't want or need any help from them, they will look out for her from a distance. A decision that leads both men to reevaluate their decision to remain monogamous.

Obviously, Kai and Garrett have met and seen Isla before at the clubhouse, but they had never met this Isla. The person she has become while trying to find the real her, instead of pretending to be someone she thought they wanted her to be. Turns out the triad just had to let down their guards and look at what was right in front of them to see what could be. The three of them together seem like a perfect fit, and I don't think it could have worked out any other way than how it did. They brought tears to my eyes and took on an emotional rollercoaster. It was a great ride.

One other thing that I have to say. In the previous books, the men and ladies, when necessary, showed some teeth and brutality when someone came after their own. Kai, however, I think, has taken the crown as the most brutal avenger. Out of them all, his is definitely the one I would want to meet in a dark alley the least. He even ranks up there with Niro, who was in first place. This book did not shy away from the brutality of the situation. This may sound a bit demented, but it was a beautiful sight, so to speak, when he avenged Garrett and Isla against Paltrow.

That's it for now, but I want to send out a huge "Well Done" to the author for writing such a fantastically brilliant story. I can't wait for whatever comes next.

The trio begin to develop a relationship but there is a mystery. Who is stalking the FMC? Who ran the MMC1 off the road? There is also the fact, that the FMC had been in the source of ow drama in the club and wants nothing to do with club life. Eventual HEA.

Review:
I have read a bunch of Scarlett Coles books and have really enjoyed them. I have also read a few MMF romances or reverse harems/why choose and have not enjoyed them. My reasons for not enjoying them include: no emotional depth, no real relationship just sex, and no character development.

I cannot say that about this book. It hit all the emotional dept, character development and it had a real storyline. I felt for all the characters. They each had a type of healing to go through and found in this relationship. I loved that the FMC was really treated with respect and shown genuine love.

You see the growth of the FMC from the previous books until now. But you also see the growth of the club. This was a MMF romance that was written well. I truly enjoyed it. Because while the main story is the relationship you have the back stories of acceptance, suspense, revenge and healing.

The Hope We Dare is the seventh and final book in S. Cole’s fantastic Iron Outlaws MC Colorado series. She finishes on a high with a great grumpy / sunshine, age gap, MMF romance between bikers Jackal and Shade and ex club girl Isla. A captivating journey of self discovery, healing and redemption, learning to trust and accepting love along the way, even if it turns out to be from more than one person. Amongst the angst and emotional turmoil there is suspense and danger for all of them. Is she the missing piece in their relationship and can they be exactly what she needs? We have had little teasers about their relationship so it was great to finally get their story.

"I fell in love with Shade the day I met him, even though he had no intention of loving me back. He wanted monogamy, and he was worth the sacrifice. But now he’s looking at Isla the same way I am. And I can’t stop imagining a life where the three of us choose each other...”

Jackal and Shade have been in a committed relationship for the last four years. They became nomads to keep their relationship a secret but have settled into life as enforcers at the Colorado chapter. Jackal aka Kai / Wild is a breathe of fresh air, extroverted and very chatty. Shade aka Garret / Bear is a grumpy introvert but thoughtful and very protective. Shade’s life has been one of violence, devoid of love and happiness due to his sexuality so he feels Jackal deserves a better man. Jackal has never given up on Shade and constantly shows him how much he loves him. They are so excited about buying their house, a place to call their own and be themselves.

All Isla ever wanted was someone to love and protect her but realised she would never get that from one of the MC guys. She did all she could to please them but was constantly rejected. She came to the conclusion that she didn’t like who she had become and the things she did in her quest to be an old lady. She left the club to find herself, get a job and live a different life. When her nanna dies she inherits her house and is delighted to have the fresh start she’s been dreaming of. Somewhere safe to live and something of her own. A family rift over her inheritance disrupts her plans but Jackal and Shade come to her rescue. She can’t believe all her good intentions of improving her life come crashing down around her when she finds out the only other house on the road is owned by two of the bikers she’s trying so hard to forget. All she wanted was to put that life in the past and learn to forgive herself for her actions.

Isla starts to renovate her very dilapidated house, however, the guys find it hard to sit back and watch her struggle. They are so patient and understanding as they slowly gain her friendship and trust, showing her she can accept help. I loved her social media record of her renovation because it really boosts her confidence. The guys both start thinking about Isla and Shade struggle with his feelings for her. He can’t believe Jackal chose him, let alone Isla. She’s confused they want to explore things with her but Jackal sees them in a totally different way. I felt Jackal really brought out the best in Shade and Isla and it was lovely the way they communicated as he persuaded them it was alright to love each other.

An attack on their house starts a series of events and then their MC work brings up other problems. Isla still has to deal with her uncle as well other issues connected to her change of lifestyle. A frightening incident makes them all realise a relationship is plausible. We get an explosive and scary ending which also gives a teaser for the new series. I loved the closure the author gives us with both the Iron Outlaws MC chapters and all the new additions. I was so pleased the club accepted them because these two bikers were fantastic and with Isla it was definitely a love worth waiting for. Don’t forget the bonus epilogue about our bikers and babies!!

This story was intense, emotional, messy, beautiful… and the kind of romance that grabs you by the heart and refuses to let go.

First of all, Jackal, Shade, and Isla together? Completely unforgettable.

Isla broke my heart right from the start. She’s been through so much with the biker world and all she’s ever really wanted was to be loved, not just used. Watching her inherit her Nanna’s old house and try to build a new life for herself felt so hopeful but also fragile. She’s sunshine in human form, but you can see the scars underneath and it made me want to hug her through the pages.

Then there’s Shade… the ultimate grumpy. Quiet, guarded, carrying so much pain and convinced he isn’t worth loving. His relationship with Jackal already had so much depth before Isla even enters the picture. The way Shade doubts himself while Jackal has loved him fiercely from day one was already emotional, but when Shade starts realizing he’s feeling something for Isla too? My heart was in pieces.

And Jackal… wow. What a character. Loyal, protective, and the emotional center of everything. The way he loved Shade enough to give him the monogamy he needed even though it wasn’t what he originally wanted? That alone says everything about the kind of man he is. And then watching him slowly realize the three of them could actually build something together… it was beautiful.

The dynamic between the three of them felt so natural and real. It wasn’t rushed or forced. It was this slow, complicated realization that maybe love doesn’t have to fit inside the lines people expect. Maybe it can grow bigger.

And when the protective biker energy kicks in? Game over. The “touch her or him and die” vibe was STRONG. When danger finally hits and you realize someone is coming for them, the tension ramps up like crazy. These men would absolutely burn the world down to protect the people they love and I ate that up.

The hurt/comfort in this book was everything too. So many moments where these three just take care of each other emotionally and physically, helping heal old wounds while building something new together.

Grumpy × sunshine × lightning is honestly the perfect way to describe them. Shade broods, Isla glows, and Jackal is the spark that ties them together ⚡

This book gave me:
❤️ emotional healing
🔥 fierce protective love
🏍 motorcycle club drama
💔 characters learning they are worthy of love
💞 a relationship built on trust, patience, and choosing each other

By the end I was completely invested in their little found family and honestly didn’t want to leave them. This wasn’t just a romance… it was about healing, belonging, and daring to believe you deserve a love bigger than you ever imagined.

And Jackal, Shade, and Isla absolutely deserved every second of it. 💔❤️🏍📚

4.25stars-THE HOPE WE DARE is the seventh and final instalment in Scarlett Cole aka S. Cole’s contemporary, adult IRON OUTLAWS MC: COLORADO erotic, MC romance series. This is former club girl turned veterinarian assistant Isla, and club enforcers Garrett aka Shade, and Kai aka Jackal’s story line.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise including menage and same $ex scenarios, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from three first person perspectives (Isla, Shade, Jackal) THE HOPE WE DARE follows the polyamorous relationship between former club girl turn veterinarian assistant Isla, and club enforcers Garrett aka Shade, and Kai aka Jackal. Isla is a former Iron Outlaws MC club girl but months earlier, our heroine left the lifestyle realizing she was tired of being used. Upon the death of her grandmother, Isla inherited a fixer upper but never expected to come face to face with her new neighbors, club enforcers Shade and Jackal. Shade and Jackal are both bi-sexual . and in a committed same sex relationship with one another but upon witnessing an attack against our story line heroine, Jackal and Shade become guardian and protector of the woman with whom they will fall in love but all is not well, someone is targeting Isla, while someone else is targeting Jackal and Shade.

The world building follows several pathways including betrayal and vengeance, greed and obsession, same $ex relationships, and a barrage of sl*t shaming directing at our story line heroine. Isla is determined to make a new life for herself but several MC members, as well as the new people in her life, are constantly reminding Isla from where she came.

The relationship between Shade and Jackal is a same sex relationship, one in which they have kept close to their heart. As the member of the Iron Outlaws MC slowly become aware, the introduction of Isla completes their love, their home, and their own happily ever after but not everyone is happy, many seek to remind Isla about her past, while others struggle with Isla’s return to the Iron Outlaws MC. The $ex scenes are intimate, provocative and intense.

Most of the previous story line characters return in secondary and supporting roles. Families are expanding, while other battle with the ongoing drama. We are introduced to Isla’s co-worker Dr. Noah Lane, and the appearance of club girl Karlie. The requisite evil has many faces.

THE HOPE WE DARE is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, family and friendships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is dramatic and emotional; the romance is seductive and edgy; the characters are determined and charismatic.

This book is a MC romance about 2 club members and an ex club girl. But it’s also more than that, it’s about moving past societal norms and the negative views that exist from day to day. It’s about accepting that love exists in many different and equally beautiful ways. And more than anything else, it’s about letting go of fear and opening yourself up to love.

Garrett and Kai, also known as Shade and Jackal in the Iron Outlaws MC (Colorado chapter) are in a loving, committed relationship. There’s only one problem, well 2 actually. Their entire relationship is a secret to their brothers, for the fear that they may be judged by their new brothers. To top it off although Garrett seems to want to keep their relationship to the 2 of them, Kai can’t help but feel like something. Or someone. Is missing. He holds out on the hope that Garrett will see that wanting more doesn’t mean that their own relationship is lacking. That’s when they realise that they have a new neighbour in the form of Isla a former Iron Outlaws club girl.

After spending years as a club girl Isla is determined to do whatever it takes to create a new life for herself one free from the shadows of her past. Not only did she have a less then desirable upbringing. But the life of a club girl is not a bed of roses. The girls are often only seen as a body to use freely and without the aftercare and intimacy that would normally come from a sexual relationship. Being treated as disposable has eroded Islas self confidence one encounter at a time. Leaving her carrying a heavy burden of shame that is not solely hers to carry.

While facing an unknown danger and with more than one enemy waiting in the wings. Will they come together and move past their hang ups in order to keep each other safe? Or will the darkness consume them and put an end to them before they ever truly begin? Will their friends and brothers be able to accept their unusual relationship or are the stereotypes just too ingrained?

“Being a lifer is only an accomplishment if you are a man.” “What makes you a badass for staying in the club makes me a…”

Book Trope: Grumpy × Sunshine × Lightning, Motorcycle Club Romance, Hurt/Comfort, Touch Her (or Him) & Die, Age Gap, Why Choose / MMF / Closed triad, Established MM, Love Worth Waiting For, MMF.

You can read this book as a stand-alone. Each book in the series explains who is who.

Isla use to be a club girl with the Iron Outlaws, but, for the past four months, she's been living on her own, holding down a regular job. She wanted out of the club life, and now she's on her own. She would rather do everything herself, but, she finds she does need help. Isla's grandmother passed away and she left the house to Isla in her will. Her uncle and his son keep harassing her about the house and how she doesn't have rights to it. Isla is now very afraid of those in leather cuts, and bikes. She doesn't want to throw her body around, she doesn't want to be used any more. Now, her new neighbors, Shade and Jackal have been watching out for her across the street. Isla just needs to figure out that she can trust the two men and they aren't looking for anything in return other than hospitality and kindness.

Shade (Garrett) & Jackal (Kai) have been "Nomad enforcers" for the Iron Outlaws for a few years. Garrett is prior military and has his own past demons to slay - usually at night when he isn't sleeping. They have been in a relationship as long as they have known each other. Now they want to settle down in Colorado, where the Iron Outlaws clubhouse is. They have just purchased a house, and a looking at renovating it and filling it with the antique furniture finds. The men in the Iron Outlaws don't seem to suspect that Shade and Jackal are actually a couple. They just know that they were both in the military and have always been living / working together since they've been patched in members.

Shade and Jackal have both wondered what it might be like to bring someone else into their private relationship. Would Isla be that missing person they've both been thinking about? Or will that scare off Isla even more from them?

I did receive a free ARC Book Copy of this book. I am freely leaving a honest book review.

3.5 rounded up.

This was such a great end of this chapter of the Iron Outlaw series. Jackal and Shade were such a beautiful couple, and I loved knowing that polyamory was already a part of one of their lives - so the introduction of it into their storyline didn't feel unnatural. Isla was a character that I was rooting for from the very first page. It's clear she has a lot of trauma around how she was treated in the MC, what she agreed to, and that she wasn't really consenting - she was biding her time and hoping someone chose to love her. It was twisted and sad, and highlighted how human she was to come out the other side of it and need to work so hard on herself.

The only reason this wasn't a five star read for me, is that I felt her relationship with Jackal and Shade was rushed exponentially. She started out so cautious, and she was kind of steamrolled into moving at Jackals pace - despite both of them always checking for consent. It felt like their development should have been a lot slower to build before they got hot and heavy, and unfortunately it made Isla's character arc feel like a let down. From there, the spicy scenes were oddly tame, almost in a way to make Isla's character seem more demure? Which was odd when she was so empowered and strong in the end.

Either way, it was a great end to the series, I just wanted more emotional depth.

*****

As an aside, I do have to say that I wish the author were continuing this series, and it's unfortunate that people were so against a nonbinary character in the last novel that it's caused her to close off this series and start a fresh one. It really highlights how much hatred exists against the LGBTQIA+ community and anyone who doesn't fit into the cisgender binary. It's devastating that even minute representation in one book of dozens the author has written, could cause that much backlash, instead of allowing the people who wish to see themselves represented to actually enjoy books with people like them in it.

*****

I was sent a complimentary advanced reader copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Scarlett Cole has once again delivered an incredible story in her epic MC romance series.

What I absolutely loved about The Hope We Dare was getting to truly understand Isla, a former club girl. Her journey was deeply thought-provoking and made me reflect on my own preconceptions. I realised I'd been guilty of judging based on assumptions about what "club girls" are like, when in reality, nothing is ever as simple as it seems. It was heartbreaking to see how Isla viewed herself, yet I admired her strength and determination to change her circumstances and reclaim her sense of worth.

There couldn't have been better partners for her than Kai and Garrett. Both men understand what it feels like to hide parts of themselves, and that shared vulnerability creates such a powerful foundation. They are perfect for each other - balancing and complementing one another with genuine understanding and love - and they're equally perfect for Isla. In turn, she fits beautifully with them, completing something truly special between the three of them.

With The Hope We Dare, Ms. Cole closes the door on the Colorado chapter of the Iron Outlaws series. I'm going to miss the brothers and their partners more than I can say. I've grown so fond of everyone in Colorado, and while I'm sad my time with them has come to an end, I'm incredibly grateful to have spent so long witnessing their journeys. I can only hope this isn't the last we see of them.

This story was gripping from start to finish. I loved getting to know Kai, Garrett, and Isla, and the edge-of-your-seat suspense was absolutely perfect. This story brought out such a wide range of emotions, which is always the mark of a truly powerful read.

Scarlett Cole's Iron Outlaws remains the best MC series I've ever read. I highly recommend not only The Hope We Dare, but the full New Jersey and Colorado chapters series too.

5 stars.

This was my first ARC read from Ms Cole, thank you to both the author and Becca at ' the author agency'

But, to my review. I enjoyed this book, but I must say, it didn't have the heart of the other stories. Don't get me wrong, it was a great story, very readable, but I personally felt that everything just kind of fell into place so easily.
Isla, ex club girl, new veterinary receptionist, has distanced herself from the club after finally realising she would never find her HEA there. She's seeking help, and trying so hard to get her life back on the straight and narrow, and headed in the direction she wants. Isla's nana has recently passed away and left Isla her rather dilapidated house. Isla loves it, but there's issues with her uncle who believes it should be his. Enter Isla's new neighbors, who other that Shade and Jackal.
The boys, to, have jist purchased the house opposite Isla's, and are eager to help her. But with her distancing herself from club life this is making for an awkward situation.

The story was sweet, and loving, but also biker ugly. Things happen, to the boys and Isla, but thd club is only too happy to be there to help out.

Im also looking forward to the cover reveal!!

The Hope We Dare is book seven in Cole’s Iron Outlaws MC: Colorado series and the final book in the series as well. Shade and Jackal have been in an established relationship for four years now, but have chosen to keep it hush hush due to the world they live in. Buying a house, they finally decide to put some roots down.

Isla left the life of being a club girl for the Iron Outlaws MC and has made a fresh start with a job she loves at the local vet office. She finally has taken control of her Nanna’s house and has decided to document the renovations, and grieving, that are both desperately needed. Being a club girl was something she thought she loved, until she realized she didn’t love the things happening to her. I admire her strength and conviction to choose herself and better herself.

Realizing how hurt and scared Isla is to be around them, Shade and Jackal actually take the time to find out the why behind it all. They actually listen to her and let her come to them on her own time and terms. The whole triad was written so extremely well. Honesty the key to everything. I loved how the author didn’t shy away from the guilty feelings Shade was having for wanting to love Isla too since he had demanded monogamy from Jackal for all these years. Or the leeriness Isla had with feeling like she was reverting back to the life she left. These three healed each other and not just in the physical capacity. I loved every moment of this story. It is raw, gritty, romantic, emotional, and kept me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who was out to get them. Scarlett Cole took this series out full throttle with this delicious grumpy/sunshine, why choose story.

True love story

Best book of the series. I fell hard for Shade and Jackal from page one and that love never faltered. Isla’s redemption arc was beautifully written. I loved that her story picked up away from the clubhouse and we watched her navigate through grief, shame, finding out who she really was and ultimately find love with our two MMC.
Both Isla and Shade (Garrett) had a dreadful childhood which factored in how they presented to the world but with the love of Jackal (Kai) we see a journey of self discovery and the realisation that they deserve love.
There were so many tender moments not just with Isla but the tender moments between Garrett and Kai put love hearts in my eyes, such a contrast to gruff manliness. When Garrett came off his bike injured both men realised how close they were to losing half their soul and how much they meant to each other.
The decision to come out to the MC had Garrett nervous but he should have had more faith in the club, but to then also claim a former club girl, who was not always the nicest, seemed to be easier to deal with than their own relationship. Personal demons and terrible fathers really did a number on Garrett but lucky for him he had two cheerleaders supporting him.
Isla was a refreshing surprise, her self esteem was in its boots, her memories of time as a club girl and how she felt were heart breaking, and I am so happy she built herself back up to overcome her inadequacies and just be Isla, Sunshine and Sunbeam.
As always with the Outlaw books, there was lots of action but this book was such a beautiful love story that I could barely put it down.
Loved this book with a capital L.
Sad to say goodbye to this chapter however a new chapter will be upon us, coming in from Florida.

**Emotional Journal!**

*The Hope We Dare* serves as the concluding chapter of the *Iron Outlaws MC: Colorado* series, and it beautifully wraps up the story with the love triangle involving Shade, Jackal, and Isla. This ending feels like the perfect culmination of an incredible series.

Shade and Jackal have been together for years, even though they have had to keep their relationship a secret from their brothers. Their loyalty to one another has created a compelling balance of dark and light. Jackal easily expresses his love, while Shade struggles to do so, but when he does, it comes across as sweet and innocent.

When Isla moves in across the street, she has already distanced herself from the club, having recognized her self-worth and determined to move on from her past. Initially, she is hesitant to let Jackal and Shade assist her. They quickly realize that their well-intentioned support is causing her stress and trauma. However, they refuse to step back, understanding that she belongs with them and completes them.

They are dedicated to taking the time and showing the patience needed to provide Isla with the love and care she deserves in their relationship. I admired their entire journey together, as it underscores the significance of communication and the importance of nurturing not only their individual connections but also their triad relationship, ultimately paving the way for a long and healthy HEA.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A powerful, passionate and boundary-pushing finale to the Iron Outlaws MC Colorado chapter.

With The Hopes We Dare, Scarlett Cole akes the Iron Outlaws MC Colorado series full throttle right to the very end — and what an emotional ride it is.

This story gives us two unforgettable bikers in Shade and Jackal. Shade is the quiet one — strong, guarded and deeply introverted, convinced he isn’t someone worthy of love. Jackal, on the other hand, is his opposite in so many ways: more outgoing, more open, and exactly the kind of man who refuses to let Shade hide from the truth of what he deserves. Together, they balance each other perfectly, their connection already intense and layered with unspoken emotion.

But when club girl Isla moves in across the road, everything shifts. Suddenly the two men realise they may have found something they never even knew they were missing… or needed. What unfolds is a beautifully complex dynamic between three people who must navigate their insecurities, fears, and desires as their bond grows deeper and their chemistry becomes impossible to ignore.

Of course, this is a Scarlett Cole MC romance — so while passion burns hot, danger is never far away. Life in an MC means darkness is always lurking, and before long Shade, Jackal and Isla find themselves pulled into yet another threat surrounding the club.

Emotionally intense and incredibly gripping, this story dives deep into vulnerability, trust and what it means to build something real together. Scarlett Cole once again proves she isn’t afraid to push boundaries in her romance writing, crafting relationships that feel raw, authentic and fearless.

As the final chapter in the Colorado arm of the Iron Outlaws MC, The Hopes We Dare is a thrilling, emotional and deeply satisfying conclusion that reminds us why this series has been such a standout in MC romance.

If you like:
   •   MC romance with real danger and grit
   •   Complex relationship dynamics
   •   Emotionally layered characters
   •   Found family and fierce loyalty

Then this series — and this finale — will absolutely deliver.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is the story of Isla, Jackal and Shade. Isla has only ever wanted to be in love with a biker. However, all they have shown her is how they can use her. She has been living this life that is not what she wanted, and it is taking a toll on her. So much so, that she doesn't recognize herself anymore. She knows that she needs to get away and find something for herself. But how is that ever going to happen? When she inherits her Nana's rundown house, she knows that his is her fresh start. She just didn't know that this fresh start would include Shade and Jakal moving into the only other house on the street she is now living on. Shade is a bit of a grump. But the man has only every thought that he is not worth loving. That is until Jackal and he chose monogamy because that is what Shade wanted. However, I don't think either of them were counting on a girl named Isla turning their heads and now they find themselves equally attracted to her. Is it possible for these three to have their dreams come true by finding love in each other? Or will a threat and violence that is aimed at one of them tear them apart before they even get started living and loving their best life? You have to read and find out!! I loved every single second of this book. I was drawn in from the first chapter and didn't lay it down till I was done. You are going to love these three characters. They are flawed and imperfect but together they are a thing to behold.

This story was beautiful. It was raw, emotional and filled with so much love between three people who truly deserved it.

Isla, Kai (Jackal) and Garret (Shade) are all incredibly layered on their own, but together? They just fit. Kai and Garret’s relationship was already so strong and heartwarming and it honestly hurt knowing they felt like they had to hide something so pure and powerful. Their love was quiet but unwavering, and I adored the patience, understanding and care, especially from Kai toward Garret and his past trauma.

And then Isla… my heart absolutely ached for her. As a former club girl, her journey was confronting and emotional. She was coming to terms with her past, the choices she felt forced into and the deep desire to finally be chosen. Her strength was incredible. Watching her slowly trust that Kai and Garret genuinely loved her and would give her the safe, steady home she’d always wanted? So, so beautiful.

What really made me love these three was the softness between them. Yes, the chemistry was hot (blushing was definitely involved), but it was also tender, caring and deeply connected. The sharing wasn’t just spicy, it was full of trust, comfort and genuine love. And honestly… that massive 9x9 bed was doing the most.

Their communication, their devotion and the way they showed up for each other felt so real and intentional. This wasn’t just a spicy read; it was healing, emotional, and full of heart.

I think this trio might be my favourite in the series. Their love was something truly special.

Scarlett Cole writing an MM or MMF romance has been dream of mine since I started reading the Sad Friday's series, and I finally got to experience it! It was absolutely worth the wait. Girl, you need to write more, because this story was perfect, and Jackal and Shade were everything I imagined—and more. Plus, Isla, a club girl who not only embarks on a journey but finds her happy ending with these two perfect guys, completes the story. I’m honestly at a loss for words.

These three characters were like puzzle pieces that fit together seamlessly, each revealing vulnerability—Jackal and Shade hiding parts of themselves, and seeing that same vulnerability in Isla. They complemented each other perfectly, softening each other's rough edges and adding love and stability to the foundation Jackal and Shade already had.

While I was sad this is the last story in the Colorado chapter, I'm excited to meet new outlaws, especially given their introduction.

And with a perfect mix of edge-of-your-seat danger, suspense, spice, and brotherhood, Scarlett Cole once again proves why she is the queen of MC Romances. Her deep characters, wide range of emotions, and smoking-hot bikers ensure her title remains well-earned.

I highly recommend The Hope We Dare, along with the Iron Outlaws and Iron Outlaws: Colorado series, to all readers.

My thanks to S Cole & TAA for the opportunity to read n early copy of The Hope We Dare. 😊 All thoughts expressed are my own.

I absolutely devoured this.

Honestly, this is probably my favorite Scarlett Cole book yet. I've been reading this author's books since the first Iron Outlaws series, and continue to find myself impressed by how much I've enjoyed this author progressively more with each publication. She's managed to incorporate such a distinctly diverse variety of characters throughout each series. That includes the book prior to this one, which contrary to the negative opinions of less than open-minded individuals, I actually found quite refreshing and well done. Too few of the authors I've read have been brave enough to attempt what Scarlett Cole has. As someone who avoids books that leave me questioning whether an author even likes women I've found her work well-balanced. They're steamy without compromising a well developed plot. Which is why I'm both saddened and disappointed in the negativity she endured from the reading community in response to Wren's character. While I look forward to our next group of outlaws, I'm sad to say goodbye to Colorado. But at least we get this beautiful redemption arc our club girl needed first, and it was everything I'd hoped. I see myself rereading this one many times. Whether you love a good MMF, people finding their place, redemption arc, club girl learns to love herself story, or are just a fan authors who don't write redundant cookie cutter stories you should check this out.🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶

I was given an ARC (advanced reader copy) from The Author Agency, this is my review

Such a great ending to the series!

These Outlaws just got better and better. While I love the OGs (Niro is a fav), there was just something about these Colorado Outlaws. I'm so happy Scarlett wrapped the series with Jackal and Shade. They were the perfect ending. The thought, research, and care that went into this story can be felt through the pages.

Jackal and Shade, an established MM couple each other well. Where Shade is stoic and seems closed off, he's just a man who thinks he isn't deserving of love, while Jackal loves freely and deeply. He knows when Shade is pulling away and how to hang out with everything he has. They thought they were complete until seeing Isla again. She is the final piece to their puzzle and I couldn't have chosen better myself. Isla finally has a place to call her own, a steady job and is trying to discover who she really is and what she wants out of life. Jackal and Shade were unexpected in the best way. The amount of care, trust, love, understanding, compassion and endless amounts of patience by these big, badass bikers was amazing. Isla is no slack when protecting those she loves, helping Jackal prove to Shade he deserves everything and then some.

Jackal and Shade took top spot as my favorite along with Catfish!

I feel like I’ve been waiting for FOREVER for Shade and Jackal, though I know it hasn’t been, so to say I was ecstatic when I found out this would be their book, is not an understatement. And I’ll admit that finding out Isla would be their old lady, that was surprising, but I’m all in for a good redemption journey and this baby served up all the things my romance loving heart would want!

I adored Shade, Jackal and Isla. Finally getting to see who Garrett and Kai are beneath the cut was all kinds of fun and illuminating. They may be outlaws, but they truly have hearts of gold! And Isla, she totally won me over. The way she takes responsibility for her past actions, while also learning to give herself grace just made it that much easier to connect with her. I loved how open they were with each other and how they made communication the most important part of their relationship and how it worked out for them in the end.

While I’m happy we’re getting more of the Outlaws, I’m sad that we’re saying goodbye to Colorado chapter, but I know we’ll get check ins and I’m crossing my toes that maybe we’ll be back one day because I NEED to know what kind of woman Babyface would fall for. But I loved watching as this chapter became a family and truly had each others backs, no matter the situation.

Established couple adds a third within an MC Romance

Shade and Jackal have been in a relationship for a while, but are still closeted to most of the other guys in the Outlaws. They have finally purchased a home together after years of renting. They don't know it, but their new neighbor is a former club girl who is trying to change her life after losing her grandmother. Isla's story is one of past abuse, years of apathy and recent grief.

The story of these three moves fairly quickly- Jackal and Shade try to break down Isla's walls and give her support through family drama. Then an accident changes things for all 3 of them.

The love between Shade and Jackal from the start is pretty solid. They have a good blend of romance, heat, and communication with some hiccups. I always get nervous for books where an established couple adds a third to their dynamic because it could go a few ways. I was pleasantly surprised that it was handled well in this book, with plenty of good communication and awareness on everyone's part.

There wasn't a whole lot of club drama in this book- it focused more on the couple and eventual triad. I think it worked pretty well. It was full of swoony and spicy moments also, and kept me engaged and not wanting to put it down.

Thank you to the author for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I love a found family trope, a why choose, and a book where the characters struggle before they find their happily ever after. Because if you've ever been in love, you know sometimes you have to fight for it and sometimes you have to find a way to live yourself before you can find love.

The Hope We Dare has all of this! Isla is a former club girl and she has been through some things and lost her sense of self and self love along the way. Stepping out of that life she is focusing on finding who she is and learning to love herself again. Shade and Jackal are enforcers for the Outlaws biker club. Both hiding something that could potentially cause them a lot of trouble if the club finds out. But what they find when trying to find their way in a world that will probably shun then is a love they never expected to find.

This was a beautiful romance with twists, turns, and all the things that come with an MC romance. OTT protective MMCs, a strong willed FMC and three hearts just trying to find their way to each other!

Thank you so much S. Cole and The Author Agency for this ARC! Truly an amazing book! Now I have to start at the beginning because I need everyone's stories!

Oh wow, this completely pulled me in—I honestly can’t even pick a favourite out of the three because I loved them all.

Shade is that perfect gentle grump who can’t stand to see anyone struggle, but he’s still learning that he deserves love too. Jackal is basically sunshine in biker form—loyal, open-hearted, and fully believes love just multiplies. And together? They’re so solid, even while keeping their relationship hidden from the club.

Then there’s Isla… and wow. She might be one of my favourite FMCs in the series. She’s made mistakes, lost herself trying to be chosen, and now she’s finally choosing herself. Watching her grow, set boundaries, and learn to accept every part of who she is was honestly one of the best parts of the book.

I loved how Jackal and Shade approached her—with patience, care, and zero pressure. The way their relationship develops into something deeper felt healthy, supportive, and really beautiful.

There’s emotion, healing, a bit of danger, and so much heart in this story. Even with the MC setting and suspense elements, the focus on growth, love, and acceptance really stood out.

Such a strong, emotional read that can be read as a standalone, which is what I did, but I'm off the read the rest of the series now!
