Welcome back. Friendship is for life. Are men? Layla and Darcy are back in the smoking area, taking men down with them in the next instalment of walk ins welcome II.
Okay, I loved this. 4.5 ⭐️. It was filled with banter, fun, "aw" moments & lots of nose snorts & I even laughed out loud a few times which is a feat in itself.... it truly was such a great 2nd book by Toni! She really outdid herself! I loved reading about Dustin & Darcy's relationship, not only with the way it grew, but the trust and growth within themselves and each other! - don't be put off by the multiple POV's it actually works in this books favour! Definitely recommend reading this if you liked Walk In's Welcome (the first one) I reckon you'll like this one even more! 😉🤭
And I thought Walk ins Welcome the first one was hilarious! The second one had me cackling just as hard. I don’t know how Toni comes up with this stuff but I hope she never stops
I was lucky to have received a copy of this book from the author in a lovely PR box with some cheeky goodies!
Toni Douglas is an Australian indie author who likes to push the boundaries with romance stories. She tells her stories with a bit of heat and a bit of humour making an interesting blend in a sultry romance story. “Walk In’s Welcome” was her debut romance novel which contains her signature blend of humour and heat, so very much looking forward to diving into “Walk In’s Welcome II”.
Layla is very happy in her new life with J, they have a happy and healthy relationship together and Layla is still able to do the work she did when she met him – all is well in their world.
Dustin and Darcy are wondering if they should try something a little bit different to spice things up and discover each other more – both their beauty and their sexuality.
Darcy has seen how happy she is and looking at herself is wondering if Dustin is truly happy with the vanilla life they lead, while Dustin just hopes Darcy could see herself the way that he does – sexual and powerful.
They create an online profile looking for a third partner and take their first adventure to a sex club together.
Thus starts an adventure together where they learn they are both happy for a third male wheel to be involved in their relationship and explore each other in a sex club with people watching.
Don’t worry though as Layla is there to support her and for one rendezvous is the safety back up – but slappy was not to be (if you know, you know lol).
“Walk Ins Welcome II” is the hilarious sequel in this series. Whilst it is a short story compared to what I normally read, this book had so much going on. There were so many adventurous and funny scenes where the characters were really able to grow and find themselves. But what made it all work was the humour, there was just as much humour as there was spice in this book and it was a perfect combination the way the author worked it all together. I am laughing one minute especially with Mr Slappy and then enjoying the spice the next. Just an all-round, fantastic, spicy, funny read that I highly recommend.
While this second story is an improvement on book one - it’s not by much. Less spelling and grammatical errors - thought still plenty throughout the story.
With more focus on on Darcy it was less disenchanting - but there was absolutely no chemistry to speak of between the characters - either friends, strangers or married.
It was again - attempted sexual ostentatiousness for the sake of it. The mechanics in play were reasonable, but again it just did not build tension in a way that made me want to know what happened next.
Let’s talk vocab - when MMC’s talk like teenage girls - I’m not buying it. When everything is screaming, yelling, or poor vocabulary - and even the best friends have terrible friendship chemistry - it’s just not worth the 200 pages.
And finally - consent. Consent is king. The MMC not gaining any consent prior to uploading (admittedly somewhat de-identified) nudes immediately made me want to stop. If it’s not yes - it’s a no. And she couldn’t consent if she didn’t know. Regardless the C liking the outcome - let’s acknowledge the problematic nature of things here. At least J and Layla have total consent.
If you’re looking for a story that lets you completely switch off from the noise of everyday life, this book delivers in every way.
From the first book, to this one! It pulls you into a world that’s bold, indulgent, and unapologetically written for adults who want something a little more exciting than the usual read.
The characters are relatable, like someone you are related to or work with. The "rush" is undeniable, and the storytelling keeps you hooked chapter after chapter.
It strikes that perfect balance between escapism and emotional depth giving you moments that are thrilling, a little daring, and impossible to put down.
What I loved most is how effortlessly it allows you to step out of your routine and into something far more captivating. It’s the kind of book you pick up “just for a chapter”… and suddenly you have read the whole thing!
Go in with an open mind and no preconceived ideas and you’ll get so much more out of the experience that way.
Highly recommend to anyone wanting an immersive escape that feels just a little bit indulgent. You deserve a read like this.
Great entry level to get you hooked if you have never read this genre.
Just when you think Walk In's Welcome couldn't get any more funnier, Toni, Book 2 Walk In's Welcome had me cracking up in hysterics. The plot is hot hot hot and the bond between the two best friends Darcy and Layla just gets more stronger. A wickedly good read that involves Darcy and Dustin exploring new temptations, joining a new web profile and exploring their sexuality and Layla being even more adventurous trying out new raunchy things, Balloons and Sour Cola Bottles also make an appearance. Jessie also has his moments that left me in Stitches. Poor Jessie.
Stop now and get this book, its the best Rom-Com you will ever read.
Once again, it served as a nice, quick palate cleanser that is absolutely full of spice.
While the first book introduced us to the group, this one shifts the focus over to Darcy and Dustin, who we got to see a bit of previously. I really loved that this book featured a lot more character growth. Watching them open up their relationship and try new things together added a great dynamic to the story and gave their connection a lot of depth alongside all the heavy spice.
As an added bonus, I'm pretty sure this book gave us a sneaky little hint as to who Book 3 might be about... could it be Big Red? I guess we will have to wait and see!
3.5 This was a fun one!! You've got 6 points of view which was super fun. The main story follows Darcy and she explores more of herself with her husbands support and best friends help. This book is super spicy and fun, if you love to share you will enjoy it. I enjoyed it, came for the spice stayed for the banter. Well done Toni, always delivering a spicy read x

I went into Walk Ins Welcome II by Toni Douglas knowing exactly what to expect after how perfectly the first book set everything up and somehow, it still pulled me in even deeper. What I love most about this series is how character driven it is. The interactions might start off feeling transactional, but they quickly evolve into something much more layered and emotionally charged. There’s this constant push and pull with power and control, and just when you think you’ve figured a character out, Toni shifts the dynamic in a way that keeps things fresh and engaging. The “walk-ins” structure and multiple POVs work so well again here. Every encounter feels intentional, giving you a new perspective on connection, desire, and even detachment. It never feels repetitive, if anything, it builds on what the first book started in a really satisfying way. And honestly, Toni’s humour is a standout. Her Aussie wit is so natural and sharp, it had me laughing out loud. It adds this layer of warmth that makes the characters feel even more real. There’s also that underlying sense of mystery I’ve come to expect from her writing. Characters hold parts of themselves back, and that slow reveal creates such a strong, intimate tension throughout. I love how she blurs the line between professional and personal as it makes everything feel a bit unpredictable and very human. Toni Douglas is such a unique indie author, and this book really cements that. If you enjoyed the first one, this is an absolute must-read and if you haven’t started the series yet, you’re seriously missing out.
I’ve seen these books labeled as erotica, but I’d gently disagree. If there is a HEA or characters who fall in love (or are already in love), then I would place this firmly in the romance category. If anything, it leans toward romantic comedy because there are moments that are genuinely hilarious. I found myself laughing so hard at times that I almost chocked on my drink.
Walk In’s Welcome 1 & 2 play with kink in a way that feels fun, curious, and a little cheeky rather than heavy or intimidating. The romance is present, just not in the traditional form some readers might expect. Some readers will find themselves laughing, others will feel seen in ways they haven’t before, and some may even discover something new about themselves. These books celebrate curiosity, openness, and playful exploration.
These are fast, enjoyable reads that feel like little bursts of joy. They are the kind of books that naturally spark conversation because once you finish them, you want to talk about them.
These books are perfect for the kink curious reader, anyone needing a light and funny palate cleanser between heavier reads, those looking for something different from traditional romance, or ideas for a side hustle!!
