This is one of the most charming and delightful stories I have ever read! It is the fast paced first installment to what I believe will be an exciting series. Its a tough in cheek and laugh out loud adventure of an average school teacher who unwittingly and accidentally becomes a witch....and it seems like her cat Luna knows more about it than Leigh!
Every time she tries to do good with her new found gift, something goes terribly arye.....the most unpredictable things are happening to friends and family.
I can't remember the last time I laughed my way through a book! I am looking forward to the next installment to find out about,.....wait for it.....The Witches Union, local 1313 ...Yep, that's right! Leigh has been summoned to appear on charges of practicing without training and owed dues!!!!!! LOL.
Totally Captivating! I have to call this a must read. Melanie James, just Brilliant
Serious Leigh
I don't usually say this about a second installment, but it's even better than the first one! There seems to be no end to the completely unexpected results of Leigh's magical writing power.....I laughed my way through this installment and mostly right out loud. I especially loved the three wick candles worth of wax ( ork ork)
It would seem that there is safety in numbers as far as keeping Leighs spells straight, as when she had Gerty, Esmeralda, Vlad and Marie Laveau all playing their part as they put an end to the Council's plan for total dominance.
Everybody is happy, Hunter is Leigh's dream come true and Kelly, Lindsey and even Gertie have men in their lives.
This is such a lighthearted, enjoyable read , especially since I know the fun and laughter isn't over! They all have the Halloween Gala in Salem to attend in the next installment. I for one can't wait to see what misadventure awaits this motley crew, I wonder what costumes they will wear! LOL!

Hopeful Leigh....I chuckled and laughed my way through this installment.... Leigh has done it again...Lindsey & Kelly want Leigh to do a "tune-up" on Derek & Luke, but due to a few errors in her writing the end result was, oh, I'd say quite unexpected! And on top of that Leigh is writing two other stories at once. Knowing her the way that we do, we know this isn't going to end well!
I will tell you that we meet a new witch, "Emily" with her own agenda....
Zombies, werewolves and a dragon to be dealt with.
Hunter learns that Leigh is a witch.,,
Leigh meets Hunter's family which is it's own adventure!...
Wait til you see what Gertie has made in the way of a dress!....and oh yeah!....Luna can do spells!
I so enjoy the adventures of Leigh. Each installment is better than the last
Haunting Leigh #4 As always, Leigh has done it again! ...a misunderstood note, a very heavy vase, and one violently angry witch is what gets the trouble started this time, and the hits just keep on coming until everyone is involved in the antics, even Hunter's left over hippie parents play a part in this over the top, bust a gut, laughing til you cry installment of the Literal Leigh Romance Dairies....
Leigh & company goes ghost hunting, out smarts a double dealing ghost & Luna talks with a ghost cat!
We also learn a bit about Luna's history when she has her paw read.
Gertie makes beautiful gowns for the girls and vampire tuxedos for the men to wear to the annual ball, and Hunter has a surprise for Leigh!
The antics never stop from beginning to end. I don't know how, but each new installment is better than the last one, so I am really anxious to read "Joyful Leigh" . I have a feeling for what's coming and I can't wait to see the ensuing chaos....it's just a given for our favorite little Witch!
Joyful Leigh #5....Well, Leigh is in the thick of it again...and again and again! It just doesn't let up in this one! From the very first pages she is a hostage at the grocery store, .. A misshape spell is drunkenly spewed out at the first meeting of their spell club, which has a "sticky "effect on Hunter....The furnace needs fixing but no one will come because of the house being haunted, so Leigh writes about it getting fixed, and does it ever!....A portal opens up one night and she meets the wizard Cosmos and the witch Sybil who tell Leigh about the Order of Dobrin, led by Villus & the Teutonic Knights. He is out to gain all magic for himself under the guise of witch hunts, trials & inquisitions. What he can't control he destroys.....Meanwhile, Leigh has planned for both her and Hunter's family to have Thanksgiving at their new house and have the families get to know each other and they can announce their engagement......I don't think I need to tell you how that's going to work out!.....We do however finally learn about the origin of the desk! and the Voodoo Queen is to grant Leigh a Royal Title, but your going to read it to find out why........So we are going to a Royal Wedding! Yay!. Hunter really is a keeper!

Accidental Leigh-Melanie James did it again. If you want a short lol book this is the one to get. Leigh and her friends are a great bunch of girls. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Serious Leigh-This is the second book in the series. If you haven't read Accidental Leigh yet you must. This book picks up where Accidental Leigh left off. If you have read it than you are going to really love Serious Leigh. It has you literally laughing out loud. I can't wait for the next book in the series. Great job Melanie James.

Hopeful Leigh-This is the 3rd book in the Leigh series. This time around Leigh has to save her witch friend Gertie. Leigh's boyfriend Hunter learns that she is a witch. This book had me literally laughing out loud. I can't wait to see what Melanie has in store for us.

Haunting Leigh-Melanie James does it again with this book. There were times where I was laughing so hard I couldn't stop. Leigh is just wonderful. You never know what Leigh and her friends will get themselves into. Hunter Leighs boyfriend upsets her, and this is where the fun begins.

Joyful Leigh-Melanie James does it once again. This is the 5th book in the Literal Leigh Series, and I absolutely love it. I think this is my favorite one so far. You are literally laughing out loud. There were times I was laughing so hard I thought my family was gonna think I was crazy. Leigh and her friends always end up in some sort of mishap. If you haven't read this series I really think you need to start 1 clicking. I can't wait to see what Melanie has in store for Leigh and her friends.

A LOL read!
The author has a great sense of humor and is very sarcastically witty. The story is like a witchy, paranormal, romantic comedy. A fun well written and light-hearted book.

I recommend this series to anyone looking for a good quick enjoyable read.

Accidental Leigh - Book 1
A great and funny read. Read most of this one on the train and while waiting for an appointment - was trying so hard not to laugh out loud it was so funny.
Leigh is a teacher on summer break, she loves to read and decides to try her hand at writing. After acquiring a free antique writing desk strange
things being to happen. Leigh has suddenly gained magical powers and tries to help her friends with a few spells but things keep going wrong.
Can she learn how to be a witch without hurting those closest to her?

Serious Leigh - Book 2

Another great read from Melanie James found myself laughing in a good number of spots - had to do it quietly while I was on the bus reading too.

Following on from where Accidentally Leigh end, Leigh is before the witch's council. Thankful its a small fee to be paid but she gets a bad feeling from them. She is also assigned Gertie to teacher her to be a witch, thankful they get on together like a house on fire. Leigh and Hunter continue with their romance but given the mishaps that happen around her especially when magic is used will he be willing to stick around for the long haul. Still under a spell Derek and Luke are still acting crazy Kelly and Lindsey, can Leigh remove the spell and will the guys still be interested in the girls after all that has happened to them. Meanwhile the council wants Leigh to write a special story which includes bring back to life Vlad the vampire back to life but for what purpose.

Hopeful Leigh - Book 3
Another wonderful read by the talented Melanie James


Leigh is still with Hunter who is about to Graduate the Police Academy, Gertie friend and witch teacher to Leigh still has the hots for Brad the hunky fireman. Kelly and Lindsey who have the misfortune of having their boyfriends turn into baby cows due to Leigh's magical writing desk. When Gertie goes missing can they all come together to find her and what happen's when Hunter learns that Leigh is a witch.

As with the first two books lots of laughing through out esp about a certain pink object. I also enjoy the mention of Dr Matilda Schmidt who is a character of one of my other favourite authors Cynthia St. Aubin.

Haunting Leigh - Book 4

Another great Leigh book by Melanie James full of love, laughter and magic

Leading up To Halloween is hard the school Leigh teaches at because religious celebrations are forbidden. So when she and Gertie get the kids of make a Golum you know there are going to be a few magical hiccups. That's no the only problem Leigh must face when she get the wrong message from Hunter and in a fit of anger she magically knock's his spirt out of his body. To make matters worse his ghost is then kidnapped, the only clue to who it might be is the new house that Hunter just brought for the both of them. It will take the whole team working together to get Hunter and His Ghost back together.

Joyful Leigh - Book 5
I couldn't stop reading this it was so full of laughs and beautifully written.

Leigh is spending her Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas with her fiancé in their new place. She wants it the holiday season to be be perfect and so she use her magic to help but as usual things don't quite turn out as planned.

Author Melanie James never seems to let me down! This book has just the right amount of funny/romance to make this book and series a MUST READ! Leigh loves her book boyfriends as much as the rest of us! One day after the death of her ultimate book boyfriend she decides she wants to give writing her own book a go! She found a free little desk to do her writing on and little did she know that her world was about to be turned upside down! Who knew that trying to help your friends would end up so mixed up? This will have you laughing until you cry! I can not wait to read the next book and find out what The Witches Union, local 1313 have to say about the messes she has created!

The "Literal Leigh Romance Diaries: The Complete Collection Box Set" by Melanie James features five paranormal themed books that follows elementary school teacher, Leigh Epstein and her friends. Leigh is home on summer break when she picks up a small, but free, writing desk. As an aspiring writer she learns that everything that she writes on the desk actually comes to true in the most literal sense possible. Instead of testing her desk out on herself she does her best to try to help out her friends and family. The twist is that words have power and sometimes unexpected results occur as a result of her witchy powers. The overall course of the series takes place over six months. During that time not only does Leigh gain new friends, but she also falls in love.
Overall, I enjoyed reading all five stories. Leigh is funny and quarky. Her friends range from loud and crazy, to sweet and naive. You'll like this series if you enjoy reading about a character that finds themselves in a strange situation while having to figure out what to do about it. Some of the situations are a bit crazy, however this series is meant to be a fun, light read, that will keep you smiling.

The 'Literal Leigh Romance Diaries' series is one of my favorites. I absolutely loved the humor throughout. And it's not your usual chuckle and snicker moments either. It's a laugh-your-ass-off-until-your-face-and-sides-hurt kind of humor. I literally had people looking at me strangely while I was reading. The storyline was awesome. Some of the crazy-ass scenarios these characters get into are so far fetched, but extremely believable, that you can actually picture them happening. The characters were such a great cast of personalities. I loved them all. From Marie to Kelly to Gertie to Brad to Randy to Lindsey to Luke to Derek....you get the point. Leigh makes the perfect lead in this crazy series. Hunter was put through so much, but he and Leigh made the perfect couple. I can't tell you enough about this series as to how freakin' awesome it is. I highly recommend it. A must add to your tbr list.

I have loved reading this series. I managed to read all five in two and ah half days! It was so funny and easy reading that it just rolled along. I truly recommend this set if you like a good and humorous story! The shenanigans are just too hilarious! I can easily see my friends and I in similar situations. It was one of the best two days I’ve spent reading in a long time. Melanie James just does not disappoint!

This is an amazing series. Melanie James is brilliant. I loved each and every book and was never disappointed or bored. Leigh and her friends keep you entertained and laughing through each and every book. And each book is a new adventure. After the first one you will not want to put these down. Oh wow this book made me howl out loud not only laugh out loud. I was lying on a beach in Portugal almost wetting myself, crying and working my abs as I laughed.
The characterisation is great in these books. I had to read them all but it did wane for me a little near the end of the series but still 5 star. I would call it a spoof witchcraft series. I will most definitely read more by this author.

Laugh Out Loud Funny

This series of books are hilarious. The trouble that Leigh gets into with the literal desk are so much fun.
I had to be careful about where I read this. You don't know when something is going to go wrong with one of Leigh's spells and if you burst out laughing at the Doctor's office, you'll get some weird looks.
