Lauren’s heart is in pieces, Trey betrayed her, and Sawyer is still with someone else. She’s done playing games that leave her in pieces. So when she decides its finally time to go back to Winnipeg, love is the last thing she’s chasing.

Until Sawyer shows up. Again.

He wants her back, but this time Lauren’s heart won’t be so easily won. Especially when Koda, his charming, off-limits teammate, steps in and offers a distraction that she can’t resist. It starts as a way to distract her heart from the man she has been trying not to love, but sparks fly, lines blur, and suddenly the game has changed.

From Winnipeg to the misty hills of Scotland, Breakaway is a story of second chances, messy love, and the fire between two people who can’t quit each other, even when the rules say they should.

BREAKAWAY by A. Amanda is a poignant, majestic fascinating story of love with such electrifying chemistry and mind-blowing details in hockey icy background! Lauren's anguish surfaces and the ache of betrayal is visceral, the setting is riveting and addicting, filled with suspense that tightens with each decision she makes. This is a hockey romance with sharp thrill, angsty, slow-burning, and unabashedly poignant. The prose is magnificent yet brutal, with a delicate structure that follows Lauren's soul.
.
Sawyer's return exposes the past, enhancing the stakes, their history is packed with friend to lover anticipation, compounded by an age difference and the pressure of being the coach's daughter. The slow burn was constructed in a really well-thought plot. When Koda turns up, the story shifts gears, transforming forbidden love into something astounding and dangerously intriguing. His presence was a compelling counterpoint that drives Lauren to confront what she truly desires. The emotional push and pull is powerful, and the tension never goes away.
.
BREAKAWAY builds on vulnerability, turning down safe options in favor of emotional truth. It's a compelling read that honors perseverance with payoffs that are considered accomplished. The romance is marvelous but rough around the edges, with nuances of longing and boundaries. Each single page develops the suspense, making it difficult to put down as the lines begin to blur. This is an entertaining and captivating take on forbidden love that recognizes the cost of choosing oneself. By its end, the dynamic between these characters feels spectacular, combustible, and unforgettable, it always such an honour to dwell your brain into A. Amanda's prose, she's literally one of my facoutire sports romance Author, if you like Rachel Reid, Chelsea Curto or Stephanie Archer this book must be in your TBR list!
