4.5 stars. I’m going to knock half a star off for this being a trilogy.
Really enjoyed this book - it’s fun, it’s fresh, it’s exciting. Interesting characters and an intriguing world which comes alive from our own stories and legends. The authors style is easy and engaging. It reminded me a lot of the Black Magician series.
Many people don’t like the style of switching narrative between character, personality I like it if it is well done - it is excellently executed.
I’m a smaller note, I found one mistake in the book and at times it is a little difficult to follow what is going on. But it’s small moments and do not break down the experience.
Though I dislike trilogies, I am looking forward to the next book.
