I would like to formally apologize to Ollie for how I treated him in the previous book. I loudly expressed how angry I was about his behavior and the pain he put Rafe through.

I would also like to apologize to Becca for slandering her beloved character and for not taking Ollie’s feelings into account. I was upset, sad and hurting with Rafe so I hope my apology is accepted.

Now that that’s out of the way, I want to scream at the top of my lungs how happy I wan with the conclusion of this trilogy! I’m so happy that Becca didn’t milk their reconciliation while smartly making Ollie work hard to get Rafe back.

From the beginning of this book, Ollie was determined to win Rafe’s love back and show him how much he had matured. To show him how far he was willing to go in order to get his forgiveness and how he was no longer afraid.

“𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒘𝒉𝒚 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆?”
“𝑰’𝒎 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆,” 𝑰 𝒔𝒂𝒚 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒖𝒍𝒍𝒚, “𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏.”

I know I said wanted him to grovel at Rafe’s feet, but the moment he saw Rafe again and the way his heart broke, I started crying. And then when he got that package, I lost it. I realized I didn’t want to see him suffer; I wanted him back with Rafe and be happy the way he deserved.

Rafe probably should have been harder to get and let Ollie beg him for a second chance, but he loved him too much. There was no way on earth that he would not want to touch Ollie again. Especially not after that traumatic event. It was that moment that really made him realize he wanted his husband back. Losing him was never an option and he would give Ollie a chance to earn him back.

I was a sobbing mess when Rafe’s parents claimed Ollie as their own. I stupidly hoped Ollie’s parents would have changed, but they actually got worse. How they could do that to their own son was beyond me. Good thing he had his in-laws to give him the love he deserved. Not for nothing but Latino love is one of a kind and the Ortiz family had it in spades.

There were some unexpected twists in this book but that just made it even more interesting. I loved that those twists got them closer instead of driving them apart. For the first time since they started their relationship, they leaned on each other to find the solution to their problems.

I can honestly say I’m very satisfied with this ending. All I wanted was to see them happy loving each other out loud. Those eight years apart helped them grow and strengthen their love for each other. They now know how to fight for their happiness and hold on to it with all their might.

Five stars isn’t enough. Fifteen stars for this trilogy isn’t enough. I can’t think of another set of books that has made me feel so much and kept me completely enthralled from the first page of book 1 all the way through to the last page of book 3. The writing is so immersive and the characters have so much depth and heart to them.

This book, unlike the first 2 of the trilogy, is dual POV. We start with Ollie at some time in the future (I don’t want to spoil how long but I will say I started crying when I read it). He’s still playing basketball, still away from Rafe and still not happy. Jump to Rafe’s POV and it’s basically the same. These two still miss each other like crazy and it’s heartbreaking.

Thankfully, they are brought together again and Ollie isn’t willing to give up this time. To say they have a fight ahead of them is putting it lightly. There’s heartbreak, healing, kissing in public, media scrutiny, crazed fans and so much more! They’re surrounded by an amazing group of family and friends that support them and show up when it matters. Rafe and Ollie have fought HARD for their HEA and boy is it well deserved.

This was such an easy 5 stars. I felt like I was holding my breath through every moment until Ollie and Rafe took a breath. The calm and the quiet amongst the chaos that they end up finding brought me to tears more than once. I have loved this trilogy so much and it is one I’ll re-read over and over.
Thank you, GRR, for the ARC!

I don’t even know where to begin with Mending Hearts. This book absolutely wrecked me in the best possible way.

After following Ollie and Rafe through every heartbreak, setback, sacrifice, and moment of hope, seeing their story come full circle was everything I wanted and so much more. Becca delivered me a finale that was raw, emotional, and beautifully healing. I laughed, I cried, and there were moments where my heart physically ached for these characters.

Ollie and Rafe have never had an easy journey. Their love has been tested in ways that would break most people, yet through every challenge, their connection remained undeniable. Ollie’s vulnerability, his fears, and his struggle to believe he deserved happiness were heartbreaking to witness. Rafe’s unwavering devotion, patience, and fierce love for Ollie made me fall for him all over again. Together, they are the perfect example of a love worth fighting for.

What impacted me most was how authentic their healing felt. There were no easy fixes or quick solutions. Every step forward was earned, making their triumphs feel that much more powerful. The emotions poured from every page, and I found myself completely immersed in their pain, their growth, and ultimately their joy.

This wasn’t just a romance. It was a story about courage, forgiveness, family, acceptance, and finding your way back to the person who holds your heart. The love between Ollie and Rafe is deep, consuming, and unforgettable. By the time I reached the final chapter, I was crying happy tears because these two characters had fought so hard for their forever.

The ending was absolutely perfect—hopeful, emotional, and incredibly satisfying. It felt like a beautiful reward for everything Ollie and Rafe endured throughout this heart-wrenching trilogy.

Some books entertain you. Some books stay with you. Mending Hearts did both. This trilogy has carved out a permanent place in my heart, and Ollie and Rafe are a couple I will never forget.

An unforgettable, emotional masterpiece and a perfect conclusion to an incredible series. Highly, highly recommend.

Mending Hearts by was the conclusion to Oliver and Rafe’s story that I had been desperately hoping for.

After everything that happened in the previous books, especially book two, I wasn’t sure how Becca Seymour was going to bring these two back together in a way that felt believable. Somehow, she absolutely nailed it. If Ollie made all the wrong choices before, this time he spends the entire book trying to make things right, and by the end he had completely redeemed himself in my eyes.

Set eight years after the events of the previous book, both Ollie and Rafe have moved forward with their careers, but neither has truly moved on from the other. They’re still carrying the weight of their past, still missing each other, and those opening chapters absolutely broke my heart. Seeing them from both perspectives made the longing, regret, and love feel even more powerful.

When circumstances force them back into each other’s lives, neither can keep pretending anymore. What follows is an emotional journey filled with heartbreak, healing, public scrutiny, media attention, and the difficult work of rebuilding trust. For the first time, it truly felt like they were fighting together instead of against each other or the circumstances surrounding them.

One of my favourite aspects of this book was the support system around them. The family and friends who showed up, protected them, and reminded them they weren’t alone added so much warmth to an otherwise emotional story.

This trilogy has put these two through so much, and that made their eventual HEA feel incredibly well earned. Watching them finally choose each other openly, without fear or hesitation, was everything I wanted.

A heartfelt, emotional, and deeply satisfying conclusion to Oliver and Rafe’s journey.

Rafe Ortiz and Oliver Marshall have twelve years of history. Still very much love each other, even if they have grown apart. Eight years have passed, with no contact. They are both exhausted from their respective careers and needing a break.

Looking to retire, Ollie is setting up a foundation project in San Francisco. He is invited onto a chat show to promote it, only to find Steel Saints on the same line up. They desperately miss their love they shared. Many glances later, they separate once again.

When Rafe decides to serve Ollie with papers. Ollie needs to hear it in person from Rafe, organisating a way onto a gala Rafe is appearing in, he wants to see him face to face. After an incident takes place, they are forced together and face the truth. With love being the driving force, can they talk through their issues?

This is the final book in Becca Seymour’s ‘Chords and Courts’ trilogy. The writing is full of hurt, want and tentative first and second steps. Becca’s writing had me feeling every emotion once again, I felt the pining and constant love throughout the three books. I loved how Ollie took ownership and fought for Rafe, even when his diabolical parents tried to ruin him publicly. Rafe stood firm and showed he was strong, and slowly let Ollie back in. Making it work a second time was non-negotiable for either of them.
I loved the side characters of Miles, Eli and Drew, the other members of Steel Saints, who became brothers to Rafe. Lindy, Marco, Cass, Vinny, were such fierce protectors of Rafe and Ollie.
This trilogy is such a fantastic read, I am so glad they got their hard fought HEA.

Ollie’s tightly controlled world collapses when his private life goes public, leaving the League, sponsors, and the media picking apart every piece of him. Rafe’s star is rising fast, but success feels empty when the man he loves is being torn apart under the spotlight. They’ve survived distance, ambition, and secrets — but now they’re facing the fallout. With reputations, contracts, and old wounds on the line, they have to decide whether their love is something to hide or something worth fighting for in full view of the world. Mending what’s broken is messy, public, and brave — and choosing each other might be the only way home.

After being apart for so long, Ollie and Rafe finally reach a breaking point — the moment where holding everything in becomes impossible, and something has to change. That crossroads is raw, emotional, and exactly what they needed to finally fight together instead of drifting alone. This story is full of feelings — frustration, longing, fear, hope — all of it building toward a relationship that’s stronger because they choose it openly and deliberately. I loved seeing them work side by side, finally pulling in the same direction, and I especially loved the people around them who stepped up to protect, support, and steady them when the world felt too loud. A heartfelt, satisfying conclusion to the trilogy, bringing their journey full circle with courage, connection, and the promise of something lasting. This was an MM story with mature content.

"For twelve years, I loved him in fragments. In stolen time. In the margins. Now I get to love him in full."

I feel like I’ve run a marathon emotionally. This book and this series in general played my heart like a fiddle, first by making it fall in love with two crazy young guys with heads full of dreams, then breaking it to pieces when the love was not enough against the world, only to glue it back together with every perfect word in this final book.
I am easily emotional, so the fact that I cried all the time while reading is no surprise, but the noise those two created in my head is something else.
Some of what they went through hit close to home, but most of all the writing style dripped emotions, eviscerating them and proving that perfect is not important. Becca Seymour created two complicated, flawed men who buckled, stumbled and made mistakes, hurting themselves and each other along the way. I love how genuine the story feels and how it does not sugarcoat the difficult. All the very human and imperfect decisions are there, they make perfect sense and they do bring them to their closure, even if it takes a while.
It was a long road to the HEA, but I enjoyed every single second, even when it hurt.
So if you like it when the books make you feel? Grab tissues and dig in!

This book, this series, are nothing short of magnificent. I have little doubt that this series will rank as my favorite in 2026. Becca Seymour is a wonderful writer, but I have a difficult time with high-angst stories; Shattered Hoops broke me and part of me was dreading Mending Hearts. Although I knew Rafe and Ollie would achieve their inevitable HEA, I knew it was going to be a fraught journey getting there. And this was borne out as I found myself weeping at the 12% mark of this story. Thankfully, their reconciliation and healing started a bit sooner than I anticipated, which made the rest of the story a bit easier to survive. Still, I found myself crying many emotional tears, both happy and sad, throughout the entire book. I often found myself thinking of Robert Frost’s “The only way out is through” as I absorbed the devastating beauty of this story. Ollie and Rafe found their way back to each other and rebuilt their relationship one quiet, devastating truth at a time. They did it by making the choices that mattered, over and over again, by steadfastly being there by each other’s side in all the ordinary moments that make up a life. The author said it so well: “Fear runs. Responsibility stays.” Highest recommendation.

This whole trilogy is beautiful and this last book is perfect, it's healing. But if you thought, like naive me, that we were done with suffering, you are mistaken .... but it's so worth it. It's beautiful, rightfully paced, heartwarming, well written. I read it in one siting, I couldn't put it down. Ollie and Rafe's story will stay in my mind for a while.

While I did completely empathise with Ollie at the end of book 2, I did not like him so much at the beginning of this one, but well, he got where he needed to be and Rafe is just perfect for him.

This is book three of a trilogy that needs to be read in order. It's linked with zone defence, a basket ball series from the same author, and we have a very short glimpse of my dear and sweet Caden (from Caden & Theo a beautiful standalone).

I got an ARC and this is my honest review.

Mending Hearts is the third and last book in Chords & Courts series .

I was really looking forward to reading the conclusion of Oliver and Rafe’s story, especially after all the drama in the second book. But if Oliver did everything wrong in that one, in this one he does everything right. EVERYTHING. He’s redeemed himself in my eyes.

The book is set eight years after the events of the second book. Both have moved on with their lives, but they’ve put their love lives on hold. They’re still married, until they run into each other on a TV show and Rafe does something drastic. This triggers a reaction in Oliver, and from there on, he does everything right.

Come to think of it, they weren't ready for what they did in the first book—they were still just kids. Oliver didn't really understand what was important, and that hurt Rafe. But time has passed, and it seems like this time, it might work out.

Absolutely flew through this one in a few hours, I could not put it down!!!

I've been an Ollie fan since he first appeared in the Beccaverse, and I have been obsessed with Ollie and Rafe since book one. No exaggeration, these characters have not left my brain!

This was just the perfect ending for them, even though I absolutely never wanted their story to end. The way they choose each other was just everything!

There are definitely some highly emotional moments that made me cry, but I felt like a proud mum seeing these two grow and figure everything out.

I'm so sad to be saying goodbye to Ollie and Rafe. But I'm hoping it's not the last we see of them! I definitely want a story for Miles and Eric!! I'd also love to see a big basketball reunion 😍

This was a fantastic ending to the 3-part Chords & Courts series. You absolutely have to read the other 2 books first.

After 12 years of being married, and 8 years of being apart while Rafe becomes popular as a rock star, and Ollie plays pro basketball, they finally come together again. Given how the last book ended, I wasn't sure they'd ever get here. This book is about how they FINALLY get their HEA. They've both grown a lot - they are no longer frightened kids and are finally ready to see a future together. Ollie is finally ready to come out (& retire too). Rafe is ready to forgive Ollie & try again (or for divorce). There's plenty of spice, plenty of found family, lots of talking things out instead of running, and even a stalker.

Loved how this ended - such a fun, emotional ride.

Mending Hearts is the third book in the Chords and Courts trilogy. The title is perfect because my heart was broken for Ollie and Rafe at the end of book two. They loved each other but could not find a way to be together. Mending Hearts, picks up their lives eight years after book two ends. Eight years seems like such a long time to be apart from someone you love but Ollie and Rafe needed to grow into themselves and their relationship.
This is a beautiful story of love and second chances. The path Ollie and Rafe take back to each other is so well done and shows the growth of their characters in their time apart. This is wonderful ending for our guys. I would like to see Miles find his person so hopefully there is more to come for the Steel Saints.

I'm absolutely obsessed with Rafe and Ollie and their epic story spanning over twelve years. Mending Hearts picks up their story about eight years after Shattered Hoops and they haven't spoken in all that time. They're still married and still in love but neither one can gather up the courage to send that text or make that call to restart or end it all. That all changes when they unexpectedly end up on the same talk show and come face to face. That sets up the dominos to begin falling as Rafe and Ollie both fight back to each other in their own ways.

I couldn't put this one down and read it in one sitting. It's filled with the lyrical language befitting a songwriter like Rafe and the waves of anxiousness stemming from Ollie. Mending Hearts absolutely does justice to Ollie and Rafe's love story and to their choices over the decade plus they've been in love.

This incredible book, Mending Hearts, wraps up an amazing series. Oliver Marshall and Rafe Ortiz have a history that spans 12 years, and they've always had feelings for each other.

After not being in touch for eight years, they're both worn out from their jobs and life in general. They’re still married, and there are some really tough moments, but eventually, they start to find their own paths, even if it takes a while.

Their friends and family are super supportive, except for Oliver's parents.
Oliver and Rafe really fought hard for their happy ending, and they totally deserve it! This series is honestly one of the best I’ve read all year—definitely more than just 5 stars!

I cried and was overwhelmed throughout this whole series it's an incredible piece of work !

The final book was worth waiting for!!! I absolutely love this couple. Ollie's decision to fight for Rafe in the face of his fear, was a long time coming. Your heart breaks for Rafe as he tries to move on but is stuck in what once was. The love, passion, chemistry, was still there. I really enjoyed how the struggle of their reconciliation was written. The pain, mess, drama, realness, was everything. A hard fought and won HEA. This series is a keeper for me.

The ONLY thing I would have liked to see that I feel was missing, was Miles finding his person. All of the side characters, who I love, found someone. Even the strong ones need support. I would have liked to see him get that. Maybe in another series....

Having followed along as Ollie and Rafe have walked a sometimes difficult path towards their ever after this book really landed them in a good place. But good didn't mean that they didn't need to continue to work for it. This pair who loved, waited, worked hard on careers that sometimes kept them from the outward expression of the love that bound them together, even when they were apart, left me emotional at the end. In a good way. I like books that remind us that love is a good start but not enough. They needed to communicate and to make tough choices. Getting to being happy and together took work and at times sacrifice. But the end felt good.

I was enthralled by this book. The author has melded romance, love and intrigue into a magical story.

Two college students get married and go their separate ways but pine for each other for years until they reconnect as Ollie, the basketball player is calling an end to his playing days and has started a charity basketball program for immigrant children. Rafe is tired of travel as the lead singer with many songs about Ollie without revealing who the songs are about.

The catalyst that gets them back together is that Rafe has given up and filed for divorce after many years. The story is interwoven with stalking and both having lived a life in the news spotlight and having to manage the PR of getting back together.

This book was everything I wanted it to be, while not being at all what I expected it to be. After all the stress and angst of Book 2, I expected to pick right up where we left off, but instead we got a time jump and a more mature, nuanced, grown-up versions of Ollie and Rafe and it was *the* perfect way to write the last book in an amazing trilogy.

I don't want to share too much because I'm afraid of giving away the plot, but seeing Rafe and Ollie get their very hard won HEA while still facing the realities of their lives was wonderful. This whole trilogy was fantastic and I'm so, so glad to see their story wrap up in such a meaningful way.

If one needs to read a m/m romance story that shows the importance of being true to oneself and knowing how freeing this can be, mending hearts is the book to read. Becca Seymour takes you on a journey where you will find yourself feeling many different emotions and allowing one to have moments of introspection; whilst living vicariously through the main characters. This book is a love story to one’s chosen family as one never knows who will be there and who won’t be when they are truly needed. I would highly recommend this to all lovers of good m/m literature. In the last book of the trilogy, after 8 years of separation, things between the husbands come to a head. Rafe files for divorce, Ollie kisses him in public, everything comes out to the world. Ollie left things for too long and it is his fault. Rafe got tired of waiting. So much hurt, pain, fear and sacrifice but underneath it is soulmate love. Your tears will flow as they attempt to make it right. Such intensity of feeling and opening of their hearts with communication. There's a handful of danger, great friends and family, good and bad. The emotion is overwhelming and almost too much, but actually is perfect.

Wow, this trilogy has blown me away. It also destroyed me, and it was basically three books of me crying, but the journey, pain, & love was absolutely worth it.

We all cursed Ollie the entire way through book 2, and there was worry about how he could possibly redeem himself and win Rafe back. But they did it. And it was THEY. It took both working together, at the same time, to find their happy ever after. And as long as you don’t torment yourself with the years they ‘lost’, you’ll know that sometimes you have to go through some things in order to find your forward.

Truly an incredible story. One of those books (series) that i feel honoured to have read.

Rafe and Ollie are in love and have been years.
But their relationship is so deep in the closet their marriage is even a secret.
They hide from their families, friends and fans.
Only out to each other… but it tears holes in their hearts until they’re almost ripped to pieces.

But being famous, whether it be in the music industry or sports, requires dedication along with lots of attention from the media.

How long can you hide until you’re broken?

Becca has written a series with an incredible ending!
Enjoy the entire series…in order!

I’d like to thank Becca and GRR for this excellently written ARC.

Even I only have to write a review for this one book, I want to do it for the whole series.

I really liked the story. You could see these men were just human beings, not perfect robots where neither of them wouldn't ever make a mistake. In fact, they made so many of them that you can't count them! But in the end, they love each other so fiercely that after all is said and done, their love is the only thing that matters to them.

There is a couple of things I didn't like, but those are a me problems and not affect in anyway how great this series is. Highly recommend it!!!

This was quite the emotional roller-coaster ride. The journey my heart went through with Ollie and Rafe was so worth all the hurt and ache. I am so happy with how this trilogy concluded. I mean, things could not have come together in a better way. These guys deserved all the happiness after everything they went through. I just love them so much. Ollie and Rafe will be living rent-free in my heart forever. This was absolutely a phenomenal trilogy. I am not usually one for a lot of angst and trilogies but these characters just grabbed me and had me so invested I could not give up on them and I'm so glad I didn't because this was such a satisfying read.

As I mentioned before, I normally don't go for books with cliffhangers or parts that require you to read multiple installments. But this series has stolen my heart.

I shed many tears while reading the book; sadness and joy go hand in hand.
These books are most certainly among my favorites this year.

Rafe and Ollie have gotten under my skin and will stay there for a long time.

This trilogy is definitely worth it, and I assure you that you will take them off the shelf (or your Kindle) again

4.5 stars. This third book in the trilogy made for a very satisfying ending. I really appreciated having an entire book focusing on two MCs slowly reconnecting and putting a lot of effort into learning to voice their feelings respectfully and figuring out how to communicate. Ollie finally managed to do what he had promised from their beginning. Their strong love for each other barely faltered although they had to do a lot of work to reach their HEA.

Mending Hearts is the perfect, emotional conclusion to the Chords & Courts trilogy. Ollie and Rafe’s love is tested in every way by distance, ambition and public scrutiny but their connection is impossible to break. The dual POV gave such raw insight into their heartbreak and longing, and seeing them fight for each other made every moment feel earned.

This book is messy, brave, and full of heart, with a found family that lifts every scene. Their HEA is not just satisfying, seriously unforgettable.
