This is the 7th installment of the time traveling detective Kendra Donovan and I’ve read them all. I enjoy the fish out of water element of not having modern crime solving techniques that she’s used to once she ends up in 1816.

By this point in her story, she’s accumulated a trusted crew and a husband giving her, as Lady Sutcliff, access to the upper crust of society - where it turns out lots of crimes happen. This book was more of a straight forward mystery as a lot of Kendra’s backstory has already been explored. So if you enjoy a modern heroine dealing with 1800’s expectations while tackling the shadowy world of medical experimentation, this novel can be enjoyed without starting at book #1.

Kendra Donovan Mysteries in Time Book #7.

"Jane Austen meets Criminal Minds with a dash of Doctor Who — When beautiful and brilliant FBI agent Kendra Donovan finds herself unexpected tossed back into 1815 Regency England, she must navigate the beau monde and ballrooms while kicking ass and solving crimes."

Time Travel mystery.

Loved the book, love the characters.

I felt like the characters weren’t given any depth and growth. None of the main characters interacted with each other in ways that propelled the story arc in forward motion. Even Alec and Kendra hardly had scenes together. Missed the camaraderie between Rebecca and Kendra.
