This book accompanies the recent exhibition at the British Museum, and includes a catalogue of the Hawaiian its held be the museum. This is a beautifully presented book, with lavish pictures of many of the exhibits and a detailed history of the Hawaiian kingdom and its contact with Great Britain. There is much of value in these essays, and there is discussion of how some items held by the British Museum survived into modern times while they would have been lost in the turmoil of societal changes in Hawaii.
