WHAT. THE. WHAT.
Holy beer cheese on tater tots, this book just blew up my brain.
Let it be known that I am a huge Jamie McGuire fan in general, but I also really loved Pretty Little Things by Teresa Mummert, so I was super jazzed about this collaboration. The title intrigued me, and now that I've finished, it's literally PERFECT. I could see both of their styles at the surface, but what was so amazing was that it blended so well that it felt like they were the same person.
You've probably already picked up from the other reviews that there's a huge twist at the end, and there is. I think it will hit everyone in different ways. For me? I LOVED it. This story is unique and at the base of everything, it highlights the fact that love is something you feel, something that lives so deep in our beings.
I'm convinced that Josh is totally a distant relative of the Maddox brothers. I felt that several times. I seriously love him just like a Maddox boy, too. He's damaged, he's not perfect, but you just love the crap out of him.
Avery was everything I wanted in a heroine - she was strong, yet insecure, which is how many of us women truly are. Toward the end, I was really starting to get frustrated with her actions, but when the twist happened, it all made sense.
I highlighted so much in this book - it truly was beautiful from the very beginning to the last page. Sweet Nothing is the only book that's ever knocked me on my butt and given me faith in love at the same time. Addicting and fast-paced, this story has love and hope laced into every page. Definitely five stars!
