A spoken-word-infused, emotionally raw novel about betrayal, sovereignty, and the sacred act of choosing yourself—loudly, clearly, and without apology.
Kelsey Miles thought marriage meant certainty. A ring. A vow. A name on the lease. But when whispers turn into receipts, and loyalty starts looking like performance art, she’s forced to What does “wife” even mean when the man you married is holding someone else’s hand behind your back?
Shawn Miles says he loves her. He says he’s sorry. He says Layla is his peace.
But Layla Harrington isn’t hiding. She isn’t apologizing. And she isn’t asking for permission.
Three lives. One marriage. A truth too loud to stay silent. Not allegedly. Absolutely.
It is not always easy giving a review of book. You are giving your opinion about someone hard work and tears. I always consider it an accomplishment if I complete the book. I am choosing not to give a start rating because in all honestly it not easy for me to do.
Here we have a story of two women and one man. I believe one woman is trying to rediscover herself after a divorce and one that is trying to hold on to a marriage in crumbling before her eyes. Then you have a man that is trying to have it all that wants it all, a wife and kids and mistresses on the side. What would you do? This is this author's debut novel and the story is a very interesting one. At times you feel some sympathy for all the parties involved but in the end for me I didn't really care for any of them. I am happy they all got the peace that they believed they needed.
