Knight Falls Ranch #2

If We Can't Have Forever

Rate this book
I had only one goal...
Survive

I’ve spent years simply trying to disappear.
Don’t make waves. Don’t be too loud.
It’s the only way I know how to survive in this cruel, loveless marriage. I never let myself believe there could be a way out, not until he stepped foot on my property.

He was only meant to be here to help train one of the horses on this ranch and then leave, but Silas Knight can’t see a problem and walk away from it. I tried to pretend I was okay, that I didn’t need help but that all comes tumbling down when I’m left with no choice but to run.
And there’s only one place I can go.

Knight Falls Ranch.

I just need time and a place to get myself back on my feet and Silas offers that and more.
Now I’m living here with him and his two adorable kids. I tell myself it’s only temporary, that I will be leaving eventually but with every day that passes, the more I’m wondering if there’s a possibility of forever here in Sunstone Ridge.

We both have reasons not to fall in love and we’re both a little broken and yet when he looks at me, he makes me forget all the hurt in the past.
It makes me believe that maybe, just maybe, we could have forever.

But life is unpredictable and messy and all those things we try to run from have a way of catching up with us.
And not every love is meant to last.

Each book in the Knight Falls Ranch series can be read as a standalone.

If insta-love is your jam, then look no further.

Anyway, it's an okay plot, I guess. Though the villains are very much predictable. But I do have an issue, and that's the fact that the FMC was married up until 91% of the story. This info made me feel very uneasy and lessened my interest in the romance. While I know she's married to an awful guy, it still doesn't bode well with me that she moved on so quickly with the MMC.

Well, they say when you know, you know. But ehhhh, if the roles had been reversed, I also wouldn't have been comfortable with it. Idk, I just find it icky because she's basically cheating on her husband with the MMC. Some readers might be fine with the MCs cheating together, but that has never appealed to me.

That said, obviously this boils down to preference. It just wasn't my jam, but I'm sure this will work out for some readers.

I loved traveling back to Knight Falls Ranch. Ria is able to seamlessly blend cozy feel good vibes and suspense in this cowboy romance. The beautiful scenery has me wanting to book a trip to Montana for some fresh air and cowboys. Silas is the most sought after horse trainer in the state. He’s getting bad vibes from the owner of the young horse he’s training. Silas doesn’t like how he treats his horses or his wife. Juni is stuck in an abusive relationship. She has just been surviving, looking for any sort of peace. Silas offers to help Juni but she turns him down. After her husband is physically violent with her, she saves herself, escaping in the middle of the night. Juni goes to the only person who has ever offered her help, Silas. He doesn’t hesitate to help when he sees her bruised face. Silas is steadfast, strong, and the best dad. He has his own difficult past and never thought he’d ever find love again. Until he met Juni. He’s so protective and is mindful of her boundaries. They fit together like puzzle pieces. For maybe the first time ever, Juni feels safe and a sense of belonging. This isn’t just a sweet and spicy romance. It’s also about healing, finding your inner strength, and moving on from your past. The mix of suspense and romance sets the stage for a fantastic romance with rugged cowboy charm. It will have you smiling one page and fanning yourself the next.

A Few Favorite Quotes:
“She fits against me like a puzzle piece slotting into place. It settles something deep in the bones of me, warms a spot that’s long been cold.”

“I can’t have forever with this woman, but I can have right now. I can have the hours and the minutes before she leaves me to go get the life she deserves.”

“Tell me not to kiss you, Juni,” he whispers. “Tell me to let you go.”
“I can’t.”

“If we can’t have forever, Honeybee, give me right now.” I plead, “Let me have you while I can, while you’re still with me.”

“I’m going to make you feel good, Juniper.” His molten gold eyes meet mine, “Make you forget every hurt ever inflicted on you.”

“Juniper Scott has been my undoing; she’s picked apart my seams and crawled straight into my soul. I’m not sure there’s anything I won’t do for her. No length I won’t go to, no boundary I won’t cross.”

“I can feel myself falling further and further for him; the idea of love no longer a possibility but an inevitability.”

“I am so in love with you, I don’t know how I ever survived before I met you.”

Ria!!! GIRL!!! You seriously need to chill with these dangerously perfect cowboys because I am this close to selling my house to go feral in the wild searching for a Silas of my own.

This man?? His observational skills are borderline supernatural. Like, nothing gets past him. And Mr. Single Dad Alpha doesn’t even pause…he steps in, takes control, protects what’s his like it’s instinct. Funny how his last name is Knight… because that man is every inch a knight in shining armour. I was out here practically unhinged, wiping the drool off my face every other page.

And the EMOTIONS??? Absolutely devastating. What they’ve both been through wrecked me. There is no universe where these two aren’t soulmates, none. They are written in the stars, carved into fate, permanently tied together. I wanted to crawl into the pages and just hold them both.

Now let’s talk spice because OH. MY. GAWD. That filthy mouth?? Illegal. I am weak for a dirty talking cowboy and this man DELIVERED. But then he turns around with that soft, sweet nickname?? I melted into a literal puddle.

And the suspense?? The storyline?? It didn’t just tug at my heart, it ripped it out, stomped on it, and handed it back in pieces. Did I ugly cry? Without shame. Would I willingly put myself through that emotional destruction again? Immediately. No questions asked.

I loved this book, love this series

Thank you for letting me ARC read this amazing book.

Another sweet love story by Ria Wilde. Follows cowboy, single dad Silas who is a horse trainer and Juniper, who is in an abusive, loveless marriage. She runs from her marriage and ends up at Silas Ranch. He shows her what real love is supposed to look like. He sees her and shows her care and kindness. And they both can't help but fall in love. I just love these Knight brothers.

There are some dark elements to this novel and of course, it has suspense, but overall, it's a very beautiful story of surviving and a second chance. Showing what true love and care is and letting yourself accept that kind of love you have never been shown.

I am loving this series. I just love and enjoy reading Ria Wilde's books. Her writing is so beautiful. Very well done. The plot. The suspense. The spicy scenes. I have no doubt, If We Can't Have Forever, will have an amazing release.

Author's Note:
If We Can't Have Forever is book 2 in the Knight Falls Ranch series, a collection of three books following the Knight Brothers. This book can be read as a standalone but is best enjoyed in order. Start Roman's book, Say You Need Me now!

— I loved this book so much and Silas holds a forever place in my heart.

Iv been fortunate enough to have been chosen to ARC read book 1 and 2 (this one) in the knight falls ranch series by Ria Wilde and I must say, she is becoming one of my favorite authors and I’m about to go read every single one of her books!

The thing with series (for me at least) is the first book is normally great and then the rest in the series falls flat — no no no, not here. I’m not sure if I loved Say you need me or If we can’t have forever MORE! They are both amazing stories and I can’t WAITTTT to read book 3 (before you leave me - with the final knight brother Remy because he’s been such a mystery to me, and I want to know his story!)

Ria Ma’am, you’ve done it again and made me fall in love with another Knight brother, I’m starting to feel some type of way! 🫣😉

I love me some knight men! I loved this story so much! It blended romance and suspense so well. Silas was a grumpy single dad who stopped believing in love, until he meets Juni. I loved how kind and protective he was of her. His kids were amazing and they all just fit together perfectly.

There were so many twists in this one. The suspense had me locked in all the way to the end. If you love romance suspense and cowboys you’ll love this one! There are some triggering topics in this one so check your warnings.

The knight men do it for me every time!!! This was so sweet, Silas had me a giggling fool. He’s so protective but always thinks about her boundaries and what she’s comfortable with.

Loved seeing the dynamic with the kids and how Caleb was open to Juni. They’re all the perfect lil fam.

I can’t wait to read about Remy next!!!

Ria needs to keep writing cowboys forever! Thank you so much for this arc!

Oh Silas and Juniper have my absolute heart 😭

Tropes:
🧡 Cowboy Romance
🧡 Small Town Romance
🧡 Single Dad
🧡 FMC on the Run
🧡 Protective MMC
🧡 Romantic Suspense

From the tropes alone I knew I was going to devour this story and that I did. Our book opens where Silas is at Calvin Scott’s ranch where he is to train a young horse. From the moment he set foot on this ranch he had an uneasy feeling about the ranch owner. This was first confirmed when he lays eyes upon Juniper, who happened to be Calvin’s wife. Silas picks up on the mistreatment fairly quickly and puts himself in a position where he will step in on Juni’s behalf when things get heated

My heart broke for Juniper as Calvin had ultimate control of her life and while Silas does offer his help to aid her escape she declines in fear of getting caught. But when things take a turn one night she flee’s directly into the arms of Silas. When Juni shows up at his ranch he doesn’t hesitate to help her. Silas was closed off for years after his wife left him and his main priority was his children Caleb and Rosie, but he couldn’t deny the feelings that Juni stirred inside him.

While initially Juni only planned to stay until she got back on her feet, she found a place that she could call home. She worked closely with the horses while also helping Niamh in her bar. She developed a bond with Silas daughter Rosie, who might I add is the sweetest child and also even had Silas’s son Caleb, who is quite reserved, open up to her. In simple terms she found the missing piece to her puzzle and experienced the love of a family which was something she hadn’t felt in quite a long time.

Silas was so patient with Juni. She was the priority at the end of the day and I absolutely swooned at his protective side when it come to his honeybee. Also yes he does call her honeybee which is just damn right adorable😭.

What I also found lovely that Roman and his wife Niamh took Juni under their wing also. They could see what was blossoming between the pair and basically considered her as family.

Overall I absolutely loved Juni & Silas’ story and I am ever so excited for the next Knight brothers story in the near future.

Thank you to the author who provided this e-arc for my honest thoughts 💭

Absolutely phenomenal! It took me a whole day to gather all my thoughts to write a review because everything was so perfect. The topic of DV was discussed in the most respectful and emotional way possible. The connection between Silas and Juniper was not only genuine but pure and full of love. I kept falling more and more in love with their characters as I kept reading.

Silas is the perfect definition of a southern man. He’s protective, sweet, loving, and not afraid to help those in danger. The suspense in this book felt so surreal that it kept me on the edge of my seat. This man puts everything on the line with no hesitation to protect Juniper. Their instant connection pulled me in from the beginning and it just kept getting more and more intense.

Juniper is such a strong woman that my admiration for her just kept growing. She’s brave, resilient, and faces every battle head on even when she’s scared. She finds comfort and safety with Silas from the very beginning. Throughout the entire book, it felt like these two were made to be together - their relationship was effortless. Once Juniper finds the confidence to grow, this woman is a force not to be messed with.

Loved it!!!

Silas is the ultimate Cowboy of my dreams. Not only is he the ultimate horse whisperer but he is also super single dad to 2 adorable children!! I love how protective and ready he is to stand up to anyone who needs it. Silas is not afraid to shout for what is right, but when it comes to going for what he wants it takes him a little longer. When he met Juni she very quickly became a person that he wanted to protect and save.

Juni is one of my fav FMCs she was so lovely putting her horses first and having to put up with her PIG of a husband... (the way I hated that guy! getting vex just thinking about him... tosser)
But she was strong when she needed to be and trusting in a moment that probably would have been so hard for her. I Her relationship with the Silas' children was beautiful... warm, kind, loving, caring and protective.

I have not read book 1 in this series yet but I will circle back and read that. I loved this world and can not wait to see what rodeo Remy has to offer us in book 3.

I'm obsessed with Sunstone Ridge and Knightfalls Ranch, the town and just atmosphere truly brings me so much comfort and peace, I honestly wish I lived there!

As usual, the writing was absolutely beautiful, and whilst the story felt a lot heavier than the first one, it was still sweet and spicy too. Juniper's bravery and strength was inspiring and her growth was so nice to see, especially when she saved herself from her abusive husband. Immediately I fell for Silas, the way he just knew and was so ready to step in and help from the beginning, he always gave Juni her independence and I loved that. The kids Rosie and Caleb were such cuties, I'm really beginning to love these single dad romances! The story was fairly straightforward (apart from that one betrayal at the end I for sure didn't see coming), and as usual the ending wraps up so perfectly.

I cannot wait for Romy and Ada's book, I just know it's going to be so fun, steamy and full on tension!

Was kindly sent this book to read.
I was very intrigued by Silas from what we saw of him in the first book, so was excited to receive a copy of this book.
Sadly I just didn’t love this book as much as I loved the first book, I know I’m reading a book, but it felt like I was reading a book, if that makes sense. Some parts felt very unrealistic and I just couldn’t see it happening in the real world.
I did adore both Silas and juni, they both helped eachother heal and it was lovely to see them find love again, I just felt like things were moving very fast, would have loved more of a slow burn, and for juni to focus more on herself, even though Silas is the perfect gentleman.
The kids in this book were so cute

The Knight men are a special breed, swoony, protective, and delicious. Juniper, your strength to endure a life you should not have to, find an opportunity to get out and then do it.

Juni and Silas you are both hurting, but together you are better. Silas, you have given up on love, but you are so in tune with Juni. This is not just a romance, we have suspense, and it is all written well.

I am ready for Remy’s book, he will be taking us for a ride 😉

A cowboy single dad romance that is just yummy😍

I LOVED this book. I felt like Juno and Silas were very well fleshed out characters with so much depth to them. They balanced and complemented each other so well. Noting felt forced or rushed.

What I truly love about a single dad story is when the kids are fully incorporated into the story. They never felt like an afterthought

Since reading the first book in the Knights Ranch series, I’ve been desperate to find out about Silas and his runaway FMC. Silas is a single dad, he’s grumpy and he’s closed off to love. He’s been hurt before, with his wife leaving him and her constant infidelities that he found about about before she finally left for good.He goes to a ranch to train their horses and encounters Juniper. He can tell straight away that she’s not happy that she is being mistreated and manipulated in her marriage to Calvin. He doesn’t agree with the way Calvin treats his ranch and horses and although him and Juni don’t have many interactions it’s clear that there’s an instant connection between them. After Calvin raises his hand to Juni, she decides she can’t stand it any longer and leaves in the middle of the night seeking out Silas. Knowing that his kindness throughout the little conversations they had would make her feel safe. Silas offers her a place to stay, a place to regroup and find her feet and the more they get to know each other the more Silas realises that he could see a future with Juni in it. But he just has to open himself up to being open to loving someone again. The tension in this book was just incredible, the tension had me gripped and the chemistry sizzled between Juni and Silas uncontrollably!
Juni is unsure and scared because of what she’s been through, but Silas is just so careful with her and so gentle despite him coming across as a real grump, he’s got a big heart and for her- he’s soft. Now, there are some twists and turns in this book that will have you guessing right up until the end, which just makes the suspense and the love story between these two even better. I loved the pining Silas did for Juni, and there’s nothing like a big grump of a cowboy being brought to his knees because of the intensity of his feelings for the only woman he can see a future with. I loved the care given by him, even when Juni doesn’t feel like she deserves it. Andddd we all know I LOVE a nickname, and this man?? He calls her Honeybee! Swoony as all hell!
The way that Juni interacts with Silas’s children stole my heart, showing those sweet, tender moments that Silas thought he’d never be able to give his kids. The twist at the end had me on the edge of my seat and the epilogue was just pure perfection! Another five star banger from Ria- I cannot wait for the third part of the series and Remi’s story.

You’ve gotta love a man who fights his own boundaries to do what’s right for someone else. Silas went above and beyond to protect Juni even before he dared to feel for her. These two had so many personal obstacles that it made their love even sweeter when it came around. My heart hurt for Silas and all he and the kids had been through. But Juni, she was like a balm to all their souls even when she thought she was just an imposition. It was so good to watch her come out of her shell and enjoy life and the people around her.

If you want a story full of romance, suspense and sexy cowboys this is the one.

Silas is on assignment at a ranch when he realizes something isn’t right. Juni, the ranch owner’s wife, is being abused…and once he sees it, he can’t unsee it. He gives her a way out, and when she takes it, she ends up following him to his life at Knight Falls Ranch. What starts as safety and getting back up on your feet slowly becomes healing, strength, and a love neither of them were anticipating for.

I really, really liked this one. And that says a lot because I don’t usually gravitate towards cowboy romances, but Ria Wilde’s Knight Falls Ranch series? Oh yeah, she’s definitely converted me! There’s something about the way she mixes in danger and romance into this rugged, country setting that just works SO well. It’s sweet, it’s emotional, it’s got all the family vibes (with a hint of murder cause why not) but at its core, it’s a story about healing, finding your inner strength, and finding your soulmate.

“If we can’t have forever, give me right now.”

Let’s start off by saying that Juni was my girl. I was rooting for her from the very beginning cause despite what she’s been through and the really hopeless situation that she had to get herself out of, she never felt like just a victim of her circumstances. She had agency, she made choices, and every time life knocked her down, she found a way to pick herself back up and save herself. Survivor energy through and through and we stan this girl big time.

So of course who better to help her than Silas…ugh. The weight of the world is on this man’s shoulders was evident in the first book since he’s juggling his kids and mantaining the Ranch activities, but he carries it so well. What really got me was how he never let that darkness touch his kids, he’s just such a good father, so protective, and just genuinely loving. The way he cares for Juni, the way he shows up for her without forcing anything, it was so soft and steady. I loved Roman, I really did, but Silas? There’s just something about him that really made him endearing.

“In any other lifetime, I think I would have followed you to the ends of the Earth.”

And as much as I was attached to the main couple, I also have to talk about the horses because they had my whole heart too. Especially Dottie and her transformation? I was so proud of this little book horsie, which is a sentence I never thought I’d be typing in a review. It added such a unique layer to the story and made everything feel even more meaningful. I also loved getting little glimpses of the rest of the Knight Falls world again. Seeing Roman and Niamh was such a treat (a failed arranged marriage that just keeps on giving honestly) and Caleb and Rosie too. I will say though…I would have happily taken way more time with Juni, Silas, and the kids. Ria, I’m begging, give us like five extended epilogues pleeeeease.

That said, I am SO ready for Remy’s book. The youngest Knight brother with a surprise roommate? I already know it’s about to be chaotic cause Remy is as unhinged as the bulls he rides and knowing who the FMC is…this is going to be a wild ride (pun fully intended).

I’ve just finished it and can’t stop thinking about Juni and Silas.
This book delivers exactly what the title and blurb promise, a heartfelt, emotionally layered escape into small town cowboy romance with a side of romantic suspense.

It’s the kind of story that wraps you in the warmth of Sunstone Ridge while never letting you forget how fragile that safety can feel…… Juni’s situation broke my heart from the very first pages. Trapped in a cold, controlling marriage where survival means staying small and silent, she’s the definition of quiet strength. Watching her finally reach her breaking point and run had me crying and cheering at the same time, there’s no instant empowerment fairy tale here.
Her journey toward reclaiming her voice and sense of self is slow, tender, and incredibly rewarding. I loved how the author shows her healing not just through romance, but through the simple, grounding routines of ranch life and the unconditional acceptance she finds with Silas’s family.💜💜

Silas Knight is the ultimate single dad cowboy hero, he’s protective without being overbearing, quietly intense, and carrying his own scars. He’s the kind of man who can’t ignore someone in trouble, even when he has every reason to keep his walls up for the sake of his two adorable kids.
The way he sees Juni…. really sees her without pushing too hard or too fast made the slow burn tension between them electric.

Their chemistry builds beautifully through stolen glances, late night conversations, and those quiet domestic moments that feel even more intimate than the steamier scenes (though the spice is there and hits just right 😉).
The kids add such genuine warmth and levity without ever feeling like plot additions. They ground the story and give both Juni and Silas extra reasons to be cautious about falling in love, yet they also become part of what makes “forever” feel possible.

Both characters are a little broken, both have valid reasons to guard their hearts, and the external threats from Juni’s past aren’t glossed over or resolved too neatly. The romantic suspense element keeps the stakes high without overwhelming the emotional core. It’s hurt/comfort done well, tender, supportive, and never veering into toxic territory.

Is it predictable in places? A little, as many romances in this vein are. But the execution feels fresh enough, thanks to the authentic ranch setting, the Knight family dynamics, and Ria Wilde’s smooth, engaging writing style that pulls you right into the small-town atmosphere.

A comforting, steamy, emotionally satisfying read that made me want to move to Sunstone Ridge and never leave. Can’t wait for the rest of the Knight brothers’ stories! Perfect for fans of small town cowboy romance with heart and a touch of suspense.

If you love single dad romances, cowboy settings, hurt/comfort vibes, a heroine on the run finding safety and love, and that perfect mix of sweet domesticity with underlying tension, this one is a winner.

4.9/5✨
3/5🌶️

For Silas Knight it was just another job he needed to do in order to take care of horses. But while working at Calvin Scott's ranch, he was mesmerized by his wife's beauty and the loneliness from her eyes. Juniper was married to Cal, but she never felt loved by him, feeling a bit lost in that world she was living, being constrained by circumstances to remain with him. But how much could she stand, because of all those bad things he was doing to her? Juniper never thought that one day she will be running away from that place and ending up in Silas's home. But will Juniper be able to find there that peace and quiet she was longing for so much time?

This book was captivating from the first page until the last one! I literally devoured it, not being able to get enough of this story! Juniper's life was like a cage and I was sooo happy to see that she escaped from it. Cal was such an insensitive man, and not only with her, but also with the animals he owned and that made me dislike him from the start. On the other side we had Silas Knight, who had an intimidating demeanor, but his soul was so gentle and beautiful, that it was pretty impossible not to be attracted by him somehow. That's how he became Juni's anchor in those dark times, lovin the way he and his two kids welcomed her and managed to offer her a real home. Their relationship had a slow growth, but it was amazing to see how everyone got accustomed to one another and how things started to feel more with each day passing. It was undeniable that the chemistry between Juni and Silas was sooo darn good, loving the way how this connection was slowly built, fragile in the beginning but which got stronger and stronger in the time she was part of Silas's world.

I was once again mesmerized by one of Ria Wilde's stories, being enraptured by everything that happened in this book. The suspense was so intense and I loved that plot twist from this book, having some of my own theories there and I was glad that I had the right feelings about someone from this story. I liked that we had a bit of everything and I really feel that readers who love Catherine Cowles would definitely enjoy this book and series so, so much.

Thank youuu from the bottom of my heart to Ria for accepting me and for offering me this amazing e-ARC. Looooved it!! 🥰🥰🥰

Returning to the Knight Falls Ranch felt like coming home. This series has truly become my comfort zone, a place I’d revisit anytime just to find a sense of peace and familiarity 🤍 Each of the brothers is so different, and that contrast makes their stories even more engaging.

From the very beginning, the story drops us straight into the middle of the action, and it doesn’t hold back. Within the first 50 pages, my blood pressure was already sky-high 😩 Ria has a remarkable talent for weaving intense emotions into every scene.

𝐻𝑜𝓂𝑒 𝒾𝓈𝓃’𝓉 𝒶 𝓅𝓁𝒶𝒸𝑒. 𝐼𝓉’𝓈 𝒶 𝓅𝑒𝓇𝓈𝑜𝓃, 𝑜𝓇 𝓅𝑒𝑜𝓅𝓁𝑒 𝒾𝓃 𝓂𝓎 𝒸𝒶𝓈𝑒. 𝒞𝒶𝓁𝑒𝒷 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝑅𝑜𝓈𝒾𝑒. 𝑅𝑜𝓂𝒶𝓃, 𝑅𝑒𝓂𝓎… 𝒜𝓃𝒹 𝓃𝑜𝓌 𝒥𝓊𝓃𝒾. 𝑀𝓎 𝐻𝑜𝓃𝑒𝓎𝒷𝑒𝑒.🐝

I genuinely found myself getting angry right alongside Silas.🫠

Silas is an incredibly lovable character: protective, patient, and deeply human. ❤️‍🩹
I especially loved how he struggles with his own demons while still being such a devoted father, willing to do anything for his family. The way he handles Juniper and her situation with such care and patience was honestly heart-melting — at one point I caught myself thinking, “every girl deserves a Silas Knight in her life.” 🤭

𝐻𝑒 𝓉𝓊𝓇𝓃𝓈 𝒶𝓇𝑜𝓊𝓃𝒹 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝓁𝑒𝒶𝒹𝓈 𝑀𝒶𝓇𝓈 𝒶𝓌𝒶𝓎, 𝒷𝓊𝓉 𝐼 𝓈𝓉𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒻𝑜𝓇 𝒶 𝓌𝒽𝒾𝓁𝑒 𝓁𝑜𝓃𝑔𝑒𝓇, 𝓌𝑜𝓃𝒹𝑒𝓇𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒿𝓊𝓈𝓉 𝒽𝑜𝓌 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒽𝑒𝓁𝓁 𝐼 𝒶𝓂 𝓂𝑒𝒶𝓃𝓉 𝓉𝑜 𝓈𝓊𝓇𝓋𝒾𝓋𝑒 𝒮𝒾𝓁𝒶𝓈 𝒦𝓃𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉.

Juniper, on the other hand, is strong, resilient, and far from fragile. I really appreciated that she doesn’t hesitate to take control of her life when the opportunity presents itself.
🤏However, I did feel like I would have liked to know her a bit more deeply her past, her family, or more background in general. At times, it felt like we got less of her compared to Silas, though I understand many readers might be more focused on the Knight brothers.😏

“𝒴𝑜𝓊’𝓇𝑒 𝒶 𝑔𝑜𝑜𝒹 𝓂𝒶𝓃, 𝒮𝒾𝓁𝒶𝓈.” 𝒮𝒽𝑒 𝓌𝒽𝒾𝓈𝓅𝑒𝓇𝓈 𝒸𝓁𝑜𝓈𝑒 𝓉𝑜 𝓂𝓎 𝑒𝒶𝓇, “𝒜𝓃𝒹 𝒾𝓃 𝒶𝓃𝓎 𝑜𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓇 𝓁𝒾𝒻𝑒𝓉𝒾𝓂𝑒, 𝐼 𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃𝓀 𝐼 𝓌𝑜𝓊𝓁𝒹 𝒽𝒶𝓋𝑒 𝒻𝑜𝓁𝓁𝑜𝓌𝑒𝒹 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓉𝑜 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝑒𝓃𝒹𝓈 𝑜𝒻 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝑒𝒶𝓇𝓉𝒽.”

One of my favorite aspects was the found family dynamic. The way everyone embraces Juniper and makes her feel safe, even though she never intended to stay long-term, was incredibly heartwarming 🤍

The pacing is fast and engaging, the story never really slows down. Even when you feel like things might finally settle, there’s always that lingering sense that something else is about to happen.

Overall, this is a captivating, emotional small-town romance that feels like a warm blanket on a cold winter day 💕

And now I’m very excited (and slightly impatient 👀) to read Remy’s story, I have a strong feeling it might end up being my favorite!

I am actually UNWELL after this book. Like… emotionally wrecked, heart full, soul stitched back together kind of unwell 😭

If We Can’t Have Forever by Ria Wilde absolutely consumed me. I went in expecting a sweet small-town romance and instead got this raw, aching, beautifully fragile love story that just burrowed into my chest and refused to leave.

Juni… oh my god, Juni. My heart broke for her over and over again. The way she’s learned to make herself small just to survive? The quiet strength it takes to keep going when your world is so loveless and suffocating? I felt every ounce of that. Watching her slowly come back to life at Knight Falls Ranch was like watching the sun rise after the longest, darkest night.

And SILAS. Silas Knight, the man that you are 🫠 He’s not loud or over-the-top alpha, but the way he shows up?? The patience, the care, the way he sees Juni even when she’s trying to disappear… I melted. Completely. He doesn’t try to fix her, he just gives her space to breathe and heal and exist and UGH it was everything.

And don’t even get me started on the kids. Those sweet babies added so much warmth and softness to the story. The little family dynamic forming??? I was gone. DONE. Wrap me up in that ranch life immediately.

What really got me though was how REAL this felt. This isn’t some perfect fairytale romance. It’s messy and painful and uncertain. Both of them are carrying so much baggage and you can feel that tension in every interaction. The way their connection builds? Slow, tender, almost hesitant… like they’re both scared to hope. It made every small moment feel HUGE.

And the title?? Yeah. It HURTS. Because this book doesn’t just hand you an easy happily-ever-after. It makes you work for every bit of joy, and even then there’s this lingering ache that nothing is guaranteed. I was holding my breath the entire time.

I cried. I swooned. I wanted to scream at life for being so unfair to these characters. And then I just sat there at the end staring into space because I didn’t want to let them go.

Juni and Silas own a piece of my heart now and I’m not getting it back.

If you love emotional, healing, found-family romances with a soft but powerful hero and a heroine you just want to protect at all costs… READ THIS.

Just maybe keep tissues nearby because wow… this one hurts in the best way 💔✨

I received this ARC from the author and this is my honest opinion. Thank you so much for allowing me to read your book!

This story pulls you in immediately and doesn’t let go. From the very first chapters, there’s this constant sense of tension, like something is always just about to unravel, and it kept me completely hooked.

Juniper’s journey hit hard. Watching her navigate a life where she felt trapped, unseen, and worn down was heartbreaking. The quiet strength it takes to survive something like that? You feel every ounce of it. Seeing her slowly rediscover herself, piece by piece, felt like watching someone step back into the light after being in the dark for far too long.

And then there’s Silas… not loud, not flashy, but steady in all the ways that matter. The way he shows up… with patience, care, and this deep understanding, made him impossible not to love. He doesn’t try to fix Juniper, he simply gives her the space to breathe, to heal, to exist. That kind of love felt so genuine and rare.

What really stood out to me was how real everything felt. This isn’t a perfect, easy romance. It’s messy, emotional, and layered with pain and healing. Both characters carry their own scars, and you can feel that weight in every interaction. Their connection builds slowly, tentative at first, almost fragile.. but it grows into something strong, steady, and deeply rooted.

The found family element added so much warmth. The way Juniper is welcomed in, especially by the kids, created this sense of home that felt just as important as the romance itself.

There’s also a thread of suspense running through the story that keeps the stakes high. Just when things seem like they might settle, there’s that lingering feeling that something else is coming, and it made the whole experience even more intense.

I loved how emotional this was. It made me ache, it made me swoon, and it definitely had me holding my breath more than once. This is one of those stories that doesn’t just give you a happily-ever-after, it makes you earn it right alongside the characters.

If you love slow-burn romance, protective but gentle heroes, strong heroines finding their way, and that beautiful found-family dynamic… this one is going to stay with you. 💔✨

This was the second book in the Knight Falls Ranch series and I definitely will go back and read book 1. I am excited for Remy’s story!

Oh my goodness I absolutely love Silas and Juni’s story. These Knight men have some serious swagger. I mean Roman was all alpha protective hero and I didn’t expect Silas to have to same amount of alpha as he had but Silas brought it.

Silas is a single dad of two and while Roman runs Knight Falls Ranch, Silas has his own business that is hugely successful. He’s a horse trainer and one of the best. He’s pad plenty and asked to travel all over to help horses and their owners. That’s how he meets Juniper.

Juniper is the wife of a rancher that Silas is working with. His first instinct is that he’s not a good man. Juniper is the only woman on the ranch and her life isn’t a good one. She is treated as property by her husband Calvin and lives under his thumb.

When Silas meets Juni he sees what no one else on the ranch seems to notice, Juni is miserable and Calvin is more of a monster than he first thought.

As he discovers more about Calvin, his ranch and his wife he decides that he can’t stay and while he tries to help Juni she doesn’t leave with him.

Juni realises that she can’t stay with Calvin any more and with nowhere else to go and no one she has to help her she heads for Knight Falls Ranch.

So while Silas and the rest of the Knight family are hiding her and helping her heal from Calvin’s abuse, Silas is falling for her. Despite him saying he would never fall again after his wife, Juni is too easy to fall for. For Juni, Silas is everything a man should be and what she thought she would have after all of Calvin’s love bombing. But she can’t stay in Montana. She wants to see all the things she’s never seen and get as far away as possible.

These were amazing characters and had so much to say. I felt all the ups and downs with them and wanted to go along with them while they found happy ever after.

I found it hard to put this book down. It has Ria’s signature all over it. Romance, spice, a touch of suspense/danger and a whole lot of swoon worthy men. If We Can’t Have Forever was freaking awesome and I want to read it again and again.

Happy Reading

An amazing story with all my favourite tropes!
A single dad, grumpy with a broken heart cowboy, a heroine on the run with an abusive husband, second chance in love, hurt/comfort, lot of suspense, an unexpected twist, found family, emotional, small town.
It's really hard to find most of my favourite tropes combined together and in a story that is so well-written that I can't put it down. This story was it for me and it's a new all time favourite that I will reread again and again.
Hero is a well known horse trainer and visiting another ranch he tries to help heroine escape her abusive husband. Initially she refuses but then she fleds and seeks hero's help in his ranch. Of course there's the anxiety of what the abusive husband will do and all that suspense until their hea.
I loved hero and his calm personality even though he was intense. I ached for him and his children and how he tried to raise them without as much heartache as he could even though his ex wife was a pos. I mean who gives the rights to her children and leaves without ever looking back? Anyway the kids are just so adorable!
Heroine on the other hand is resilient even though she has experienced so much abuse. And when there was just a flicker of hope she grasped it and escaped without losing her optimism or sweetness. She made new dreams and planned on them despite not having getting rid of the abusive husband totally. And I loved her interactions with the kids.
The suspense is at every corner and makes you keep your breath when you feel that that's it, we will feel the tranquility now. But no! The author wants to keep our hearts beating fast without rest. And the end? Seriously I didn't see that coming. I mean I had some suspicions but not for that!
Now waiting for the last book. I can't wait to read Remy and Ada. It will be explosive!
I received this arc and this is my honest opinion.

I am honestly a little wrecked after finishing If We Can’t Have Forever by Ria Wilde, and I mean that in the best way.
This story leans fully into emotional vulnerability and never pulls back. From the very beginning, there is this quiet heaviness around the heroine’s situation that makes you want to reach through the pages and protect her. Watching her slowly step out of survival mode and into something that feels like safety was incredibly moving.
Silas is exactly the kind of love interest that works for me. He is steady, patient, and deeply kind without ever feeling flat. The way he shows up, not just for her but for his kids, creates this soft, grounded atmosphere that makes the ranch feel like a real refuge. The found family element here is everything. It adds so much warmth and makes the emotional stakes hit even harder.
The romance builds in a way that feels natural and earned. It is tender, sometimes fragile, and always layered with the reality of what both characters have been through. There is a constant undercurrent of knowing that things might not work out, and that tension gives the story its edge. I found myself holding my breath more than once.
What really stood out to me was how the book handled trauma and healing. It does not rush the process or pretend love fixes everything. Instead, it shows how complicated it is to rebuild yourself while also letting someone in. That balance felt very real.
The setting also deserves a mention. Knight Falls Ranch feels like its own character, equal parts peaceful and isolating, and it perfectly mirrors the emotional journey of the story.
This was a five star read for me because it made me feel everything. It is soft and heavy at the same time, hopeful without ignoring reality, and deeply rooted in character growth and connection.

★★★★★. Thank you so much to the author Ria for the opportunity to review this book early!!! Some spoilers will be here so please read at your own risk! Anytime Ria writes a book, trust it’s an automatic five star read. An obsessed single dad cowboy who saves his woman from her abusive husband? Yes, please!

Silas, the man that you are. He was the most perfect mmc ever. The minute he saw Juniper he knew without knowing she was it for him. He recognized her sadness and desperate for freedom and gave her that without hesitation. The protectiveness he has for her, ugh ten stars. He was the best dad to his children and I absolutely loved Ria adding in that plot twist with what he said. Him recognizing that home means people and not a place…im sick.

Juniper, I loved her. She reminded me of Maya from “These Rough Waters”. Her strength and resilience towards the abuse was exactly why I love Ria’s fmcs. They find strength within themselves and place it with the mmc’s to help with holding it. Her getting her freedom herself and taking that first step was everything. Her love for Silas’ children was so adorable. The guilt she felt if something happened to them broke me.

The plot twist I did not see coming. I truly thought they would’ve just tried to ruin the relationship the old fashion way in books, but damn Ria pulled it out!

For my safety readers, completely safe. Silas was married, they have two children together. She cheated on him throughout. He was or thought it was love. He was very turned off of love because of this. Juniper was married to an abusive man. He is in present in this. I did not think Juniper was a second option. She was his only option.

“I am in awe of the woman in my arms. She thinks I saved her, but the truth is, she saved me; she saved us.”

ARC Review

Silas and Juni. Standing ovation! Loved these two so much.
Ria knows how to write the da*n thing! Queen of romantic suspense.

What a welcome back to Knight Falls Ranch! We have met Silas the single dad of two before (if you haven't read the first book, totally recommend).
Juniper aka Juni is just trying to survive. Trapped in a loveless marriage with a terrible man she makes herself small to survive. But along comes Silas who never misses a detail no matter how small.
These two find a way to each other but the road is more than rocky. Juni runs to escape and lands in Silas arms. Two broken hearted people with baggage who have no interest in forming another relationship.... at least that's what they say. But the heart declares otherwise.

I wholeheartedly rooted for Juni the entire book. Seeing her reclaim herself and her independence was so healing. She never truly closed off or shut down. Juni always persevered and never gave up. She earned her place at the ranch and within the Knight Family. Seeing her bond with Silas children were some of the most heartfelt moments. Watching her make girl friends was jovial.
On the other hand seeing Silas open himself up to love was so special. He was always a good man but more than a little closed off. Then Juni comes along and unknowingly heals him. Silas wears many hats: a dad, man, partner, horse whisperer, and a brother. Seeing him encompass all paints the picture that is Silas Knight. Oh and let's not forget his other skills 🔥. Because those scenes are insanely hot.
Overall, 10/10! Hands down recommend this book! Loved every aspect and this was truly a moving work of art. I hope all the Juni's out there find their HEA!
