Three years of rivalry. One week to collaborate. Zero chance of staying professional.
Lena and Micah are executives who can't stand each other. She's creative. She's logistics. They argue in every meeting and avoid each other whenever possible.
Until their CEO forces them to plan the company's Christmas party—together.
Forced proximity takes on new meaning. Long meetings turn into stolen glances. Arguments turn into something electric. And the line between professional and personal disappears fast.

I must say very well written and the tension between the characters was chefs kiss. I was sucked in from the beginning and the spice was done very well!
🔥🔥🔥 Holiday Truce by D.O. Robinson — A Review From Someone Who Burned Four Pork Chops Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and a fire extinguisher…
Whooo Chile. Let me tell you something. I came into Holiday Truce looking for a good spicy workplace read, and what I got was a full spiritual experience that cost my family a perfectly good dinner. Lena and Micah? Had a sistah over here TIGHT. In the best way. The tension between these two women is not played for cheap drama—it’s earned. They’re professionals. They’re not trying to mess up their bag over feelings they didn’t ask for. And Robinson respects that, letting it build naturally, organically, until by the time we hit Sunday night? A gust of wind could’ve took me DOWN.
The Pork Chop Confession I need y’all to understand: I had to make pimp decisions between reading this book and feeding my family. Real grown-woman choices. And I chose poorly—or excellently, depending on your priorities. Four pork chops. Burned. I thought I was slick. Switched it over to Speechify so I could listen AND read at the same time while I cooked. You know what happened? I was so locked in that I burned dinner ANYWAY. Couldn’t even multitask my way out of it. That’s how good this book is. It owes me groceries.
The Slow Burn That Actually Burns What I loved most is how Robinson let these two women be whole people first. They weren’t rushing to fall into bed—they were protecting their work, their reputations, their peace. The professionalism made the eventual surrender hit different. You felt every stolen glance, every moment they tried to talk themselves out of what was clearly inevitable. And when they finally stopped fighting it? Worth every charred pork chop.
Now About That “Standalone” Situation… Robinson said this is a standalone and I need her to know: Ma’am. That nepobaby twist? Did NOT see it coming. Had me gasping in my kitchen like I wasn’t supposed to be watching the stove. And NADIA? Oh, she’s gonna be a whole problem—the kind of messy, complicated, delicious problem that deserves her own book. I need to be front row, center, popcorn in hand for whatever chaos she’s about to bring. You cannot introduce a character with that much potential and then just… leave her there!
Bottom Line: Holiday Truce is the sapphic workplace romance that will have you neglecting responsibilities, making questionable decisions, and yelling at your Kindle. It’s spicy, it’s smart, it centers Black women who are grown and know what they want, and it builds tension like architecture. Read it. Just order takeout first.
D.O. Robinson, if you’re listening: Nadia’s book. Please and thank you. 🙏🏾🔥

Wow wow wow is all I can say. This book took me by surprise. The way Micha could not stand Lena only for them to have this heavy attraction to each other. I haven’t read a lesbian based book in so many years and this one was just as steamy and spicy as any other book that I’ve read. It only took me a couple of hours to read but boy oh boy was I closing my legs tightly. The sex scene was hot. The build up ooooohhhh, I just wanted to be a fly on the wall. Definitely worth the read.
Good lord was this one HOT HOT HOT 🥵 D. O. Robinson knows how to deliver on the tension between her characters so well 👏 I’ve said it once I’ll say it again in a novella style book. These characters are so well developed the world feel so real and full and that is such a testament to the writing. Thjs sapphic romance was amazing and a perfect way to kick off my 2026 will there be a second book? I surely hope so!!!
Now this story was hot and passionate. I was here for all of it how to work with somebody that you want so bad is very intense. I’m glad they figured it out and it worked for them the ending though piss me off cause that’s her mother and what do you mean the ex is coming to work with them and then they staring at each other from across the room when they’re both with their partners. That irritated me so bad.

Holy steamballz, this one was fire. The tension between Lena and Micah was sharp, messy, and impossible to ignore. I loved watching their rivalry turn into something real and passionate. It kept me hooked from start to finish and now I’m honestly hoping we get more from these two.
I enjoyed this book. There were some inconsistencies that bothered me but the plot and the way it was executed was great. There were some bombshells dropped that make me feel this shouldn’t be a standalone, kinda feel like I’ve been left hanging. Both main characters were amazing. It was a fun read!
This was my first time reading from this author and it won't be my last. It was a good read, all the characters were very well developed. The story line was was also very well developed!!
Oooooohhhh my. D did not disappoint with this FF workplace romance! It is definitely a slow burn but the build up and angst were 🫠🫠🫠 hopefully there will be a part 2!
I picked this up thinking it would be a cute little workplace romance and then proceeded to get absolutely consumed by it. The dynamic between these two was everything. And can we talk about how refreshing it is to read about Black women in their 30s who handle things like adults. When that tension finally broke? Baby. BABY. I read the whole thing in one sitting and immediately wanted to start over. The author said "let me show you how it's done" and I'm so grateful. Need the next book ASAP.
