Ahh, this Christian romcom is so cute and fun!

Even before I began to read, the description caught my attention right away. It features an astronaut (Jack) who crashes on a ranch in Wyoming, where the ranch owner (Annie) helps him overcome his resulting amnesia.

Jack's space mission gives this story a sci-fi twist, which adds unique contrast to the western setting. I also enjoyed the emphasis on admiring God's creation! Vast Wyoming landscapes around Annie's ranch are beautiful to visualize, and her stargazing moments perfectly compliment the astronaut theme.

The clean romance is packed with faith content! While the main relationship moves forward more quickly than I was expecting, I really appreciated how each character pours out so many thoughts and prayers to God for guidance, seeking control vs. temptation during unexpected circumstances. (Also, the side characters are great, and I just HAVE to give a special mention to Clint! His quirks/banter are hilarious and add so much to this story!)

I'd recommend this to older teens and adults looking for clean, unique romance books!

*Content to note*
.....May contain minor spoilers.....
Character deals with amnesia/concussion symptoms. Brief mentions of grief. Thoughts of car accident. Discussions of hospital visits/coma/near-death injuries (not graphic).

*Thank you to the author for providing a complimentary e-ARC. All thoughts expressed are my own.

If you’re looking for a quick cowgirl and astronaut romcom look no further.

After a failed launch Jack crash lands on Annie’s Wyoming cattle ranch, and when he wakes up he can’t remember anything. Annie and her ranch hands manage and run the ranch. She loves what she does but is lonely and just wants to be a wife and mother. There is banter, faith, and silly space nicknames.

This was an instalove and insta attraction romcom. While I liked the characters - the story didn’t quite hit for me. It felt very ridiculous and cheesy. I enjoyed the faith aspects but it was overdone and lost relatability. I also felt like the prayers for the future husband/wife was over spiritualized.

Remarks •
No spice - one kiss
No language
TW - coma, amnesia

Thank you Cassandra for the is arc. All opinions expressed are my own.

A special thank you to author Cassandra Joelle for selecting me to receive an advanced copy of Howdy, Handsome 💙 This is my honest and voluntary review!

🪐 Releases January 13, 2026 🪐

What to expect:
🤠 Cowgirl X Astronaut Romance 🧑‍🚀
❤️ No Spice
⛪ Christian
😏 Instant Attraction
✔️ Dual POV

"Is this spacecraft from heaven?"

Annie is a Cowgirl working on her family ranch when a storm comes through and a spaceship has crashed. While investigating the crash she discovers someone is trapped inside. Drop-dead handsome spaceman Jack has literally fallen from the sky and answered Annie's prayers. There's just one little problem. Jack has memory loss and doesn't know who he is or anything about himself. Will Jack get his memories back and find out he already has a loved one waiting for him at home or will he and Annie fall in love?

This is a very Christian book, I'm not talking just in the sense of no spice romance, but a lot of talk about God. I wasn't expecting that much and felt it wasn't necessary for the story. Besides all the religious talk this was a fun read. I really enjoyed the bantar throughout the book and learning more about Annie and Jack.

My rating: ⭐⭐⭐

ARC review.
This charming story merges the lives of Annie, a devoted cowgirl and ranch owner, and Jack, an astronaut who unexpectedly crashes into her world—quite literally! Annie loves her cattle but feels longing for a husband and a family. Just when she thinks her prayers for companionship might go unanswered, God intervenes with a twist of humour and drama: Jack's crashed spaceship.
While I found the characters delightful, especially Clint, whose quirky banter and memorable nicknames brought plenty of laughs, the story's pacing left me wanting. The relationship between Annie and Jack escalates faster than I anticipated and was too cheesy for my taste.
However, the book shines in its exploration of faith. I truly appreciated how each character earnestly seeks God's guidance end strength to overcome temptation. It adds a depth that resonates well with the story. Overall, I enjoyed this light-hearted read with a unique premise and heartfelt moments. This story is perfect for those who enjoy a mix of romance, faith, and the unexpected.
Thank you to the author for providing me this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I enjoyed the cowboys and alien theme. So fun and different from your typical romcom. I loved Clint (Annie’s friend who is like a brother) and Annie’s relationship. Their bickering was funny and added a great element to the story. I really struggled with Annie and Jack’s “relationship” because they barely spent any time together to keep from falling into temptation. At the end of the book it felt like their relationship was built on attraction solely based on looks and their shared love of God. I think those are the perfect start to make two people want to get to know each other better but these two didn’t really develop anything beyond that. I think this book could have been really great but the story was lost in a lot of prayer. I love that Cassandra leans heavily into the faith theme but this time it completely overshadowed the plot. Yes, I want to see characters that love God and follow him wholeheartedly, but I also want a story that I can get lost in.

Thank you to Cassandra for the ARC! All thoughts expressed are my own.

Oh, what a fun story! This is the 3rd book I've read by Cassandra Joelle and the more I read her writing, the more I enjoy it! This book was such a fun, touching, sweet read. The main male character, Jack, is an astronaut who's space craft malfunctions during a test launch and crash lands on the Wyoming ranch of Annie, the female main character. He's suffering from amnesia from the crash, but she and her friends on the ranch nurse him back to health, and a sweet romance blossoms between Jack and Annie during his time at her home. The premise of this book might sound a little unrealistic or unbelievable (at least that thought crossed my mind), but honestly, Cassandra Joelle really pulls it off! She takes what might seem like a far-fetched plot for a book and makes it a realistic, believable, and heartwarming romance that I didn't want to stop reading! I loved both main characters and I really liked how the author slowly pulled back the layers of Jack's backstory, so the reader learns more and more about his interesting life (before the crash) as the story unfolds and as he himself gains back his own memories. There are even some unexpected twists in Jack's story that throw some wrenches into the growing romance. The "love-at-first-crash" romance between Jack and Annie happens quickly, as they both seem to feel an attraction for the other almost immediately, but it doesn't feel rushed at all. Even though they fall head over heals for each other soon into the story, their love and care for each other is genuine and heartfelt and adorable to read.

As always in Cassandra's books, I loved the Christian themes throughout this story. Both characters love the Lord and are seeking to honor Him in every aspect of their lives, especially in their developing romantic relationship. Both Jack and Annie are loveable, selfless, God-honoring characters, which is so refreshing and such a joy to read! I especially loved the theme of learning to trust in the Lord's plans and trust in His perfect timing that pervades this story. Both characters are challenged to wait for and trust in God's will (while fighting natural temptations that come with their strong attraction to each other), and at the same time they're repeatedly reminded how much God loves them and takes care of them. What a wonderful reminder for all of us! This was an enjoyable, uplifting, precious (and yes, swoony) story!

Howdy Handsome is one of those romances that immediately draws you in with a clever premise and then keeps you hooked with heart, humor, and faith. When astronaut Jack crash-lands onto Annie's Wyoming ranch with no memory of who he is or why he’s there, what unfolds is a delightful cowgirl-meets-astronaut romance full of charm and depth.

The chemistry between Annie and Jack is instant yet thoughtfully developed as Annie takes him in while he recovers. Their interactions are filled with lighthearted, laugh-out-loud moments that had me snickering and smiling throughout, balanced beautifully with quieter, more meaningful scenes. Cassandra Joelle excels at weaving humor with emotional depth, and this story is no exception.

One of the standout elements for me was the strong faith woven naturally into the narrative. Watching how the Lord answers prayers—sometimes in the most unexpected and even astronomical ways—added a layer of richness that made the story especially impactful. The faith component never felt forced; instead, it grounded the romance and gave the characters’ journeys real purpose.

The ranch setting was another highlight. The wide-open Wyoming skies, the rhythm of ranch life, and the cozy atmosphere gave me major Heartland vibes and made the story incredibly immersive. It’s the kind of book that feels comforting and uplifting while still delivering plenty of romantic tension and fun.

If you enjoy clean, faith-based romances with strong chemistry, opposites-attract dynamics, and a setting that feels like home, Howdy Handsome is a wonderful read. It’s heartfelt, humorous, and a great reminder that sometimes the greatest adventures—and answered prayers—arrive in ways we never see coming.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Summary: 🚀🧑‍🚀
Annie owns a ranch in Wyoming and she prays that if it’s God’s Will that He would send her a husband. She has so many blessings with her life on the ranch but she wants someone to share it with. While out on her horse, she spots something strange in a pasture. It’s a crashed spacecraft! She helps to break open the door and a gorgeous man in an astronaut spacesuit comes out. He doesn’t remember how he got there or who he is. She brings him back to her house and helps take care of his wounds from the crash. She learns that his name is Jack but not much else at first.

Jack stays in the guest cabin and he slowly remembers that his brother, Hank, couldn’t do the space mission because he was in the hospital, so Jack took his place. He still can’t remember if he’s single or married and when Jack and Annie start developing feeling for each other, they know they can’t act upon it yet. They both keep asking God to guide them in the right direction and for His Will to be done. The future is uncertain for them both. Will he get his memory back and go back into space? Will Annie get her heart broken when she finally finds someone to love?🚀🧑‍🚀

I loved this book! It was a fun and unique story and I really liked the Scripture in it. I also liked how Annie and Jack both had a relationship where they talked to God like a friend because that’s how it should be. When the story talked about a season of waiting, I could definitely relate to that and I know many other readers will too. God works all things together for good. If you enjoy reading no-spice Christian RomComs set on a ranch, you will love this book!

☺️ Thanks to @cassandrajoelle for the ARC of this book, it was an honor!

Book overview
Houston, We Have A... Meet-Cute.
When a test flight goes sideways, astronaut Jack Carter crash-lands in the last place he expected: the middle of a Wyoming cattle ranch. Dazed, suffering from amnesia, and drop-dead handsome- he can't remember his mission- or even his own name.
Enter Annie McGraw, a cowgirl who doesn't have time for stray cattle... Let alone stray astronauts. But when she takes him in, sparks fly faster than a rocket launch.
Out under Wyoming's star-filled skies, Jack launches into a mission he never trained for: a woman who just might be his greatest adventure yet, and a faith that grounds him more than gravity ever could.

“I’ll look for you in everything, Annie. When all of the stars shine down on me, I’ll think of the warmth of your home. When I’m closest to the heavens and far from the earth, I’ll remember your smile, and all of the beauty will pale in comparison. And when I’m the most alone I’ll ever be—far away, in space, in darkness—I’ll remember your kiss.”

Cassandra Joelle is definitely one of my favorite authors now! This was my first book that I read of hers and I could not put it down. I absolutely love this story. It was so warm, cozy, sweet, kick your feet up type romance. I absolutely love all the scriptures, the praying and the beautiful faith theme that was incorporated into this story. I could read this over and over again and love it every time. This was so beautifully written and so heartwarming....I can't wait to read all of her other books. 💖💖💖💖💖

My Thoughts:
I know I can rely on Cassandra to deliver a fantastic Christian Romcom Romance. Her books never disappoint. This book was so good. I laughed so much at the banter between Clint & Annie. They were like brother and sister and were hilarious. Isn’t it just like God that Annie prayed for a husband and one literally falls from the sky. I was smiling the entire time I was reading this. I think this is by far my favorite so far out of all her books.

Thank you so much to Cassandra Joelle for sending me an ARC of this book —I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to read it early.

This book had me laughing from beginning to end and was such a refreshing joy to read. Told through dual POV, Annie and Jack felt so real and relatable that I often caught myself thinking, “That’s exactly something I would say.” Cassandra has such a beautiful way of writing characters who feel like everyday people—flawed, sincere, and doing their best to walk out their faith.

I felt deeply connected to their struggles and the way they navigated life and relationships as everyday Christian followers. The faith woven throughout the story was gentle, meaningful, and authentic—never overwhelming, but present in the most heartfelt way.

I was completely hooked from the very first page, especially with the opening Bible verse, Psalm 65:8: “The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.” It set the tone beautifully and pulled me right into the story.

This book was such a wonderful change from my everyday reads—light, joyful, faith-filled, and incredibly refreshing. Howdy, Handsome is a clean Christian rom-com that left me smiling long after the final page, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to read and review it.

Two things to know about me: I love a good cowboy romance... and I may be a little obsessed with little green aliens. So, from the moment I saw this cover and read this blurb, I knew I had to read it... and it absolutely didn't disappoint! I mean an astronaut crash landing his spaceship on a cattle ranch!? I'm not quite sure that's what Annie expected when she prayed for God to send her a husband. This was such a fun premise for a romance, and it was executed just perfectly. The chemistry between Annie and Jack was really sweet and I loved the sense of found family in this story (and the humor that found family brought) too. And while there may not have been any little green men... there are at least some alien jokes that I adored! One of the things that I've really come to love in Cassandra's books is the way that she delivers laugh out loud and swoon-worthy moments, all while keeping God at the center too. I haven't read one of her books that I have not enjoyed, but this one is definitely a new favorite. I loved it!

Howdy, Handsome is a closed-door Christian romance with kisses only and no language.

I have one word to describe this book: REFRESHING! Okay, who am I kidding, there's so many more words I want to say about this book. I was SO blessed to receive an ARC of this amazing novel! Cassandra's writing is exactly what this world needs right now. This novel was BEAUTIFUL. The faith of these two incredible main characters was written absolutely perfectly, and woven in just enough that it seemed 100% natural. I truly was inspired and encouraged in my faith from the faith of these fictional characters. The side characters, the setting, the plot were all so much fun and just so engaging! I'll be honest, when I first heard spaceman x cowgirl, I wasn't so sure. But turns out, those things are just the MOST fun backdrop for one of my favorite love stories ever! These two main characters were so so beautiful, and really made me believe in a love that is respectful, patient, joyful, and God-honoring. I might reread this book 100 times this year. The world doesn't know what's coming with this faith-filled romcom for the ages!

I took a chance on this one and I’m so glad I got out of my trope comfort zone. I love my romance novels but never read a Christian romance. I like how the author tied in the bible quotes and the Sunday church. I’ve always loved horseback riding and the idea of a farm. This lucky gal took over her parent’s ranch when they moved to Florida. The author really sets the tone to describe the ranch I could just picture it. The farmhouse with the porch, the horses, the land, and the star gazing. She has an extra guest house perfect for when a spaceman crash lands on your land. The spaceman suffers some amnesia and needs to figure out who he is again. Is he married? Is he single? Where did he come from? Watching the romance blossom but will he need to leave to carry out his contract or will he stay. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone. Yes there are bible references but not many I still love the cowgirl/spaceman romance story. I will not try to preach any religion on anyone but this book was still so cute and I really enjoyed it!

This book was ADORABLE! From beginning to end, it kept me engaged with every chapter.

Annie is a ranch girl who loves God and her ranch. She barely has time for anything else as she takes care of it all on her own, yet she carries a deep longing in her heart to have a family someday. Living in the middle of nowhere, she isn’t sure how that dream could ever become reality.

Jack, an astronaut, quite literally drops from the sky onto Annie’s ranch after a launch failure. He doesn’t know who he is or remember his past, but one thing he knows for certain is that God saved him. Now, he must figure out how to recover his memory while navigating this unexpected new life.

This is a charming rom-com set in a very small town, filled with ranch life, Christian faith, and a fun twist involving astronauts and aliens.

Howdy Handsome is a small town, strangers to more, Christian romcom. Cassandra Joelle has sent this book to the moon! Such a cute read with so much faith in every chapter. This is the 5th book I’ve read by Cassandra and yet again, I was not disappointed.

Annie is a rancher through and through in the small town of Big Horn, Wyoming and needless to say, there aren’t many men around to find and who God wants her to be with. The ranch hands that live on the property are married and are more like brothers than anything.

She has been praying for God to send her a husband and when she finds a space craft crash landed on her property with a handsome man inside that can’t remember who he is she laughs that God has such a sense of humor.

“If I had known God was going to send a drop-dead handsome space man my way today, I think I would have brushed my hair this morning.”

Howdy, Handsome by Cassandra Joelles is the sweetest Christian rom-com, and I loved every page of it! When an astronaut quite literally crashes onto a single woman’s ranch in Wyoming—with no memory of who he is—the story takes off in the most charming and unexpected way.

The chemistry between the characters is so natural and swoony, but what truly stood out to me was the strong faith woven throughout the story. The prayers, the constant turning to God, and the way the focus always stays centered on Him made this book such a joy to read. It’s refreshing to find a romance that balances humor, heart, and faith so beautifully.

Cassandra has truly done it again with this cute, feel-good story set back in Wyoming. If you love Christian romance with depth, laughter, and meaningful moments with God at the center, this one is a must-read. I absolutely loved it!

Howdy, Handsome was the perfect book to kick off my romance reading for 2026. I immediately fell in love with the FMC in this sweet romcom and found myself eagerly rooting for her happily ever after. The cowgirl-and-astronaut pairing felt refreshingly unique, and the way Cassandra Joelle brought those two worlds together was both fun and creative.

Humor fills the pages, which was exactly what I needed. Reading is one of my mental wellness practices, and this story kept me laughing and turning the pages, wondering if the astronaut would ever come out of his amnesia. It’s definitely a page-turner.

What stood out most was the beautiful portrayal of friendship and romance done God’s way. I loved how both the FMC and MMC turned to prayer throughout their journey, gently weaving faith into the story. It was a heartfelt reminder that God’s timing is always perfect.

What a sweet read! I was really happy and honored to get to read this book before its publishing date as an ARC that got kindly sent by the author. I really loved the world-building and wish I could live in this cute ranch in Wyoming. I loved the family and friend group dynamic, and Jack's story was really touching. I also read How to fall in love for a cowboy and I found myself thinking that both main female characters were really (maybe too) similar? Other than that I really loved the book and I am excited to read Cassandra Joelle's other books.

10/10 swoon worthy! This is my first ARC and it was so beautiful and funny and 100% worth the read! This is NOT an Alien x Human romance it’s an Astronaut x Rancher romance and I LOVED it! Jack and Annie are so adorable their romance honestly reminded me George and Mary Bailey in “It’s a Wonderful Life” and Ruth and Boaz [their relationship was built on more than just romance; it was rooted in deep loyalty, mutual respect, character, etc.]. This book gave me more hope and reassurance that God will answer my prayers in time.

Howdy, Handsome is the kind of romance that proves you don’t need spice to create depth, chemistry, and heart.

An astronaut with amnesia landing on a Wyoming ranch sounds quirky — and it is — but what truly stood out to me was the emotional grounding of this story. Jack and Annie’s connection builds naturally through kindness, trust, and shared moments, making their romance feel sincere and comforting.

I especially appreciated the gentle faith thread woven throughout the story. It never felt forced — instead, it added warmth and purpose, reminding the reader that sometimes God redirects our paths in the most unexpected ways.

This is a sweet, closed-door romance full of charm, heart, and hope. Perfect for readers who love cowboy romances, fish-out-of-water meet-cutes, and faith-centered love stories that leave you smiling long after the final page.

Highly recommended 🤍

Howdy Handsome was CUTE CUTE CUTE. 😍 Points that hit close to home for me: the witty banter between Clint and Jack who became like brothers, the very original premise of an astronaut falling from the skies on a ranch and falling in love with a cowgirl all while dealing with amnesia. Jack was the perfect gentleman and Annie had many a personal and genuine way about her as she dealt with the strong feelings of a fast and furious relationship that had to wait until God's perfect timing. Book releases January 13th 2026, be sure to check it out! Faith content was well done, romance was kisses and hugs only and only after they were officially dating. This review is hard to write. I love when an author wants to firmly stick with Christian values in a book. I think more of that is needed in the bookish world, and I applaud this author for doing that. I like that there was an emphasis on prayerful decisions. With that said, I think this book needed a few more rounds of editing and revising. It was an instalove story, but then a full novel of prayers that God would remove the attraction and chemisty. There were grammar errors, spelling errors, clunky dialogue, repetitive sentences... to the point that it was distracting. I think this author has so much potential, but the writing needs to be refined.

I received an advance copy of this novel. All opinions are my own.

Thank you Cassandra Joelle for an arc of this book!!

The premise of this book was so interesting. I knew I would have fun reading this. The plot was so fast paced and lighthearted. The characters were so relatable and the fmc and the mmc had the best chemistry!! I loved every scene they were in together but especially the dance scene! The ending was so satisfying and I loved the Faith aspects of the story and how relatable it was that all she really wanted was a godly husband and family which I don’t often see in books. I highly enjoyed reading this and I would definitely recommend reading this as a palette cleanser between any fantasy or dystopian reads.
