It’s Jasai Mason’s eighteenth birthday. No different from his other birthdays in the past. Except, this year’s gifts come with an unexpected new feelings for his best friend, Joviana.
An incident at a friend’s end-of-the-school-year party brings them closer together in a way that Jasai was unprepared for. He can’t help but think, did she feel the shift, too? Her kiss on his cheek confused him. Did she feel the same or was it just a thank-you for coming to her rescue?
Escaping to their favorite spot in the woods—an old, worn down bridge over a creek—used to be a safe haven for all their deep conversations and inside jokes, but now? Its significance has grown, just like Jasai’s feelings he can’t quite get a grip on.
This was so incredibly cute and good. Low drama, YA romance always makes me feel so hopeful. This was well written and very age appropriate. I was very happy with the way the author handled the mature situation 18 year olds can find themselves in. Williams writes friends to lovers in a way that has it moving up the chart of my favorite tropes. She also did this in single pov but from the mmc’s pov which I found really good even though it isn’t usually something I like. But a love story from a teenager boy well they’d just too sweet. I’m really looking forward to the next story, I hope we see a little of this couple in the next book.
This book was so cute it caught me completely off guard and I mean that in the best way possible. As a certified dark romance menace, I was not prepared for how hard Grimms Bridge was going to make me giggle, blush, and kick my feet like a middle-schooler with a crush.
The MMC & FMC relationship is everything I love about a friends-to-lovers romance: soft, genuine, emotionally charged, and built on real connection. Watching their bond slowly shift into something deeper felt so natural and satisfying.
And can we talk about the POV choice?! The story being told mainly from Jasai’s perspective was such a refreshing change. You don’t get enough romance novels that live inside the male lead’s head, and his inner monologue was chef’s kiss. There were so many moments where I had to look up like I was Jim from The Office because the way he thought about her was just too real and too funny.
Jasai is one of those MMCs you fall for without even realizing it. His thoughts, his emotions, the way he processes love and vulnerability it all made the story feel so intimate and sincere. I felt like I was right there with him, experiencing every flutter, every doubt, every “oh shit, I’m in love” moment.
This book had me smiling like an idiot from start to finish, and I already know I will never shut up about it. If you love friends-to-lovers, emotionally driven romance, and MMCs who make you melt through their POV alone Grimms Bridge needs to be on your TBR.
Trust me. And yes… I will be talking about this one forever 🖤📚
This book is the epitome of a sweet romance. The bomb between two friends that turn into lovers is the one that never gets old with a tale of time. Being scared to open yourself up to romance is always scary especially as a teenager but to see it coming into fruition and the path that they chose will always be a memorable book for me. 10 out of 10 highly recommend miss reneé did it again.
I wish we were able to give books 3.5 stars because Grimm's Bridge would receive that. It was a very cute read, and I do love a good friends to lovers troupe. The only thing I wish happened was that we saw more of what happened at the party, build it up a bit. I am looking forward to Book 2.
