It takes a Category Three hurricane to bring Kate Johnson out of her shell.
Kate doesn't need a hero; she needs a new van and a miracle to keep her cat rescue afloat. She’s content in her prickly independence until Dean, her much younger, overly-earnest neighbor, starts meddling in her business. He has a plan for everything, while Kate is just trying to survive the next litter box change.
But when the "Purricane of 2025" hits, the stakes change from business to survival.
As the floodwaters rise, Dean pulls off the a daring rescue of thirty-seven cats, one mop-bucket at a time. Now hunkered down in Dean's pristine "coder’s sanctuary" with three dozen agitated felines, Kate is seeing a new side of the man she dismissed as just a "young tech bro". Between shared mugs of tea and floor-to-ceiling kittens, the friction between them sparks into something neither expected
Can a guarded cat lady and a devoted techie rebuild a life from the wreckage, or was their connection just a storm that’s destined to pass?
A Grumpy/Sunshine, Reverse Age-gap romance covered in fur.
This was such a cute story. I have never read a book by this author, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. But this book was precious. I loved everything about it and I cannot wait to read more from this author.
Not the jump into bed during first chapter kind. The getting to know you while surfing a hurricane and saving many cats. Definitely would recommend this book and this author.
I'm going to give this story 5 stars even though it ranked very low on the spice scale. It's well written, lots of fun dialogue, and has many emotional bits. I enjoyed it and even laughed at times. If you're looking for a clean romance that's well written and fun, this is it.
