Having seen enough death and destruction to last a lifetime - including the murder of his own family - former police officer and Marine sniper Michael Goodfellow retreats from the world, carving out a solitary existence for himself in the forests of the Swiss Alps.
What he finds there isn't peace, but at least he can lose himself in the physical work of surviving.
It is enough, until the day he discovers an enigmatic young woman caught in one of his game traps and his whole world is turned upside down. Can his unexpected visitor vanquish the demons lurking in the darkness of his soul? Will he open up enough to even let her try?

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!! ***Received a copy of the ebook for an honest review, but I do own the Taming the Alpha bundle where it is also published :)
The cover is beautiful :) I really like it….especially the blue eyed fox :)
This is a novella and only around 40ish pages. This is a story about one of the members of the family that is part of the Lord of Misrule serial series. This is a prequel before those brothers are alive.
This story has some very sad parts that had my heart breaking for Michael, but I am not going to give more details than it is sad. I think it would be kind of cool to live way off in nature without human interference, but then I realized, I couldn’t do the whole kill my dinner thing….I’m too empathetic towards the wildlife for that. The fox is still a puzzle for me, but I’m pretty sure we will see her and Michael in another story in the future. I really enjoyed this story and getting to know Michael, but I did wish it was longer and that I learned more about the Goodfellow family and the fox….so many questions rolling around my head about them all, but I have to try to be patient…lol yeah right!!
I recommend this story to anyone who is reading the Lord of Misrule serial because I think you will enjoy this too and to shifter fans :) I hope we don’t have to wait long for more about Michael :)
This is a very sad yet heartwarming story of loss and healing.
I was able to feel all the pain and grief that Michael was feeling with the death of his wife and daughter so many years ago.
The magic that fox shifter Grace uses on Michael to relieve him of the pain he has carried for so many years proves that sometimes all that is needed is human contact to free a person of their demons.
The author conveys in a short story what sometimes takes a much longer story to deliver. Excellent writing, there is a very deep message to be learned in this story.
I look forward to reading the second story, I want to continue reading about Michael and Grace.
I was gifted this book by the author for an honest review
Great Story! Michael Goodfellow moves to the Swiss Alps when his wife and child are murdered by gang members in revenge for Michael's part in SWAT operation that kills or jails many of the gang members. He finds a young woman caught in one of his traps and takes her to his cabin to patch her up. What he doesn't know is that the young woman will help heal a great deal of his pain. This is a great story. Answers some Goodfellow questions.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair review.
I was gifted a copy of this book for review. This book is a short read. Michael Goodfellow is still grieving for his wife and daughter. He blames himself for their murder and has so much anger it is devouring him. She watches him from a distance she knows he is hurting and wants to help him. Will he allow her in.
When Michael goes off to the mountains he thought he'd be there to heal. Live with his thoughts. Mourn his family in private. But one chance encounter with a fox changes everything.
This was an awesome short. I could have seen the book going farther, but Grace's part was complete.
I found this book to be very interesting at first it started off kind of slow I didn't know what to make of it we meet a guy name Michael Goodfellow who's on some kind of hunting trip to stock up for the winter as he was preparing to leave and pick up his kill and go home he spots red fox he takes aim to kill it but a later decides to let it go free. As the story take shape we learn why Michael's in the woods to begin with he distance himself away from human contact not able to deal with the grief and loss of his wife and daughter. He took solace in a cabin in the wood so if you're looking for a quick read I would totally recommend this book with a man having to learn how to deal with his past and be able to move on.

First, the overall rating for Foxheart is 3.5. The reason for this is minor editing errors. Otherwise what a sweet story of loss and renewal.
Like the other items I've read from this author she is very descriptive and a good job was done in describing Michael Goodfellow's day to day life. There wasn't any romance to this tale and everything was really straightforward.
Boy looses family very tragically = running away from the pain of loss.
Boy lives in self imposed exile = can't properly heal from loss.
Boy meets girl (who happens to be a fox shifter) = leads to healing the pain he carries.
I received this as an ARC in agreement I would post an honest review. I will try not to post spoilers but there is always the chance.
Now, this starts out a tad confusing but quickly everything is explained to you. I have to say this is completely entertaining tail of fox shifter. A man who has lost hope with the death of his wife and child.
J.S. Hope gives a very vivid picture of the trauma that destroyed his hope, his future, dreams. I am in awe of such writing. I was able to feel his pain, the struggle just to live one more day. The cute flirty fox who invades him even in his dreams.
Fox heart JS HOPE Michael someone in pain and is lonely and continues to think upon his past his losses and a fox is in the picture but who is the fox or what really is this fox that sees him and can see his pain and can this fox help his pain to go away . can Michael move on from his past or will he choose to stay in pain and not heal . can he forgive himself for his families passing and can this woman help him or will the fox or will they both . and what does the future hold for the mysterious woman and Micheal and whats her name . http://www.amazon.com/review/RAWYWQCZ... I THOUGHT I READ AND REVIEWED THIS but i missed this one on goodreads lol.
I totally loved this book. It is an amazing first book and I cannot wait to see what happens. In the beginning I was confused but then it went on and I was like aaa.. that makes more sense. I totally love a fox shifter.. I don't see many of those and boy is he hott. ;) I felt sad with the characters... love with them.. happiness and all of it. I love that this author writes the way she does and makes me feel with the characters. I am very happy to have received this from the author for an honest opinion and love that it's a good one.
This is an emotional story that centers around Michael Goodfellow, former Marine and police officer. Michael loses his family and retreats to a life of solitude in the mountains. After years of being by himself, he comes across a woman ensnared in a trap.
This is a short but sweet read. There is hope that someone can move on and live again. Beautiful story.

Foxheart is an intense, painful, and heart breaking story. The emotions in this book are so overwhelming you can feel the pain of the main character right along with him. My only complaint about this book was that it ended too soon and left you with so many unanswered questions.
Highly emotional story. Michael has fled the world around him to the desolate mountains full of grief for his murdered wife and daughter. He grief is so intense it's like it wrapping him up in a black cloud of dispare only alcohol and passing out will combat, until one day a beautiful girl mends his heart and soul.
This is one of those sad yet heartwarming leave you wanting more stories. Michael lost his family and has closed himself off. Grace is a fox shifter who knows she can make him feel whole again. Their time together is short and the story even shorter ;) But the ending leave you feeling very happy and content with the story.
I really liked this short story although it starts out a little slow and confusing. After the first few pages the details of the story were becoming clearer and quickly pulled me in. I am greatly looking forward to the next book in this series and to see what happens next.
I absolutely loved this book. It's the start of the Goddfellow story with Cody and robin dad and how they came to be. I loved the way micheal loved his wife and daughter so much he isolated himself in a Lonely mountain. Can't wait for more of grace and micheal.
