Jon Colt is a novelist based in Edinburgh, known for his debut book, What Happened Next.
Writing has always been his passion, and he draws inspiration from the likes of Stephen King, James Herbert and Dan Brown.
When he's not writing, he can be found walking his charcoal labrador, Ringo, re-watching TV shows such as Breaking Bad, Mr Robot or What We Do in the Shadows, reading, or playing the guitar.
The End of it All is the last, and most brilliant, in the 4 part series, What Happened Next. Rex has made it to Maine in search of The Devil though his determination has started to wane and he can't seem to resolve his conflicting feelings of the Eighty Eight. Meanwhile, Milo receives a surprising and unwelcome warning of war approaching.
What an ending for the series. Most questions are answered, with some surprises along the way. The book is full of the action, suspense and gore we have come to expect from the series, with some very poignant moments also. I flew through the short chapters in no time as I just couldn't wait to find out what happened.
There are some name switches, and continuity errors in the book, particularly in the first few chapters. I also think there was some missing information from a previous book that linked to this one - although it could be because I read previous kindle versions that have now been updated. Saying that, it took nothing away from the story, was still easy to understand and actually answered one very big question!
I really enjoyed this series and would absolutely recommend.
The fourth book in the series—and wow. This one completely broke me.
There were a few errors scattered throughout, but setting those aside, this book was absolutely brilliant and a fantastic conclusion to the series. The suspense, action, and gore were relentless, keeping me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.
Some scenes were so heartbreakingly powerful they genuinely hurt 💔. Overall, this is a deeply poignant series, and this final installment delivers an unforgettable, emotional punch that will stay with me for a long time.
I've been counting down the days for this to come out and it was worth the wait! I couldn't put it down and I ended up reading it in one sitting I was so invested in the outcome! And the ending, wow! This is the best one yet and a great way to end the series! Gutted that there's no more of this series to read, but already on the countdown for the girl who speaks to the dead book 2! Thanks for a great read before christmas! Was just the present I needed!
When I finished book 3, I was counting down the days to get my hands on book 4 and it was absolutely the most perfect ending. Epic. Amazing. Definitely my favourite series of 2025.
