When a friend, youth, or family member encounters struggles with faith, we are often heartbroken and unsure how best to help them. In this updated printing of Healing the Wounded Soul, Jack R. Christianson offers valuable insight and provides powerful hope for those with faith-worn loved ones. “We need to look beyond the behavior to understand how [our loved ones] are hurting or why they are insecure,” he writes. “We’ve got to be more patient as we deal with wounded hearts.” Relying on Jacob’s teachings to try “the pleasing word of God, yea, the word which healeth the wounded soul” (Jacob 2:8), Jack R. Christianson uses touching stories and insightful quotes and scriptures to help us learn how we can help others in their healing process.
This little book was a gentle reminder to turn to the Lord for our healing and to remember that we can't see the wounds of others and to be gentle and nonjudgemental in our thoughts and actions. Many misbehaviors are a result of a wounded soul.
I love the cover of this book. It's very touching. This is a quick read, but it is full of inspiration, quotes from prophets, and scriptures. I definitely recommend it.
