Jools is an award-winning author and prolific ghost writer of memoir, she has written 40 books for clients in the last ten years through Story Terrace and Book of my Life, ranging from business entrepreneurs, life stories, trauma survivors and terminal cancer patients.


Published by Walker books, Mslexia, TLC and independently. She has performed her short stories at Waterstones in Piccadilly, across London, in Kent, and at local spoken word events that she organised. Her flash fiction has appeared in Mslexia, her screenplays were mentored by The Script Factory and performed by Rupert Graves, and she writes regularly for national websites, local press and blogs. Jools won the Wasafiri Life Writing Prize that led to an Arts Council bursary with TLC and a mentorship with Kerry Hudson, to develop her historical fiction novel, Girl in the Mirror. Paperback published independently and the self-narrated audio book is out now.

Writer in Residence for Talliston House in 2018, where she ran workshops, Jools has an MA in Creative Writing from Birkbeck, where Michael Rosen was her tutor and has written two YA and one MG novel, with a short story for children published by Walker Books. She was an active SCBWI member and is a member of The Royal Society of Authors,

She used to be a teacher, in primary and forest school, and when she's not writing, she has adventures with the women’s group, She Who Dares (she wrote a book about them too).
