An Ice Queen doesn’t break. She fractures silently - where no-one can see.
Sixteen years ago, I gave my heart and trust to someone I shouldn’t. My brother’s best friend. Jaxson Lockwood He was a forbidden fruit, I dared to taste. A wildfire, I let burn through me. He kissed me, like he was starving. Held me, like I was home. Promised me a future… only to shatter my heart.
But that foolish and naïve girl is gone.
Success and power have become my purpose. Control, my shield. I am Kathryn Frazer. Today, I run my family’s hotel empire. Honouring the legacy of the men who came before me.
But now fate, with its cruel sense of humour – has thrown him back into my life. Contracts are signed, the board has decided. We’re now partners in business. Privately at war. My perfectly controlled life is beginning to spiral, as the whispers I’ve ignored, become truths I can no longer outrun. If I let him close again, he could ruin everything I’ve built. But if I keep him at arms length… He might just ruin me anyway.
A steamy, billionaire, enemies to lovers, second-chance romance full of slow-burn tension, forbidden feelings and the kind of love that never truly fades.
The Ice Queen Billionaire is Book 4 in the Frazer Family Series. It's recommended you read the books in order, for an improved reading experience.

An Ice Queen doesn’t break. She fractures silently.
The Ice Queen Billionaire has been long awaited for but oh so, worth the wait.
Maybe it’s a name thing but I’ve gravitated towards Kat since her introduction in The Donor Billionaire; the first in the Frazer Family series.
If you’ve followed the series, you’ll know Kathryn Frazer is the definition of an ice queen: powerful, controlled, and built from heartbreak.
And now it’s her story. Second-chance romance, forbidden love, ruthless ambition, and emotions buried so deep they ache to surface. Jaxson Lockwood is the past she never healed from… and the future she’s terrified to face.
The tension will give you goosebumps. The chemistry will warm you up on these cold, winter days. The emotional slow burn will leave you addicted.
Business partners. Private enemies. A secret shared. Two people pretending they’re over each other while clearly not surviving a single shared breath. Every page drips with longing, resentment, and the kind of love that never really dies - it just waits!
If you love: ✨ Brother’s best friend ✨ Ice queen FMC ✨ Second chances that hurt ✨ Power, passion, and emotional warfare
I read this book as a standalone without reading the reviews/comments properly, and I must say, like others who similarly did so, I was quite lost with regard to the characters, some aspects of the storyline, etc. Since it is solely my fault, this was not taken into consideration when the rating was provided.
The issues with the book were the following for me:
- Didn't feel any sort of chemistry between the characters - The MCs (especially given the fact that they were getting together after more than a decade and a half), getting back together wasn't smooth and felt too rushed and spontaneous. - The MCs were not together for more than 2/3rds of the book, and even after they were both being stupid. - The whole orchestration of the MCs figuring stuff out felt too forced and out of place. - I absolutely hated the miscommunication based trope and even more hated the personalities of the MCs and some of the things that they did. - The story just didn't seem smooth and I felt like we required more context at least on the MC's past together because I didn't feel anything or wasn't really sure of the timeline they were together. - A lot was happening in the story and was overwhelming.
While some of the points, like the last two might be because I read this book as a standalone, the rest definitely had a bigger play when it came to the rating and I just didn't feel anything (even the enemies to lovers energy) in the book.
I love stories of self-possessed women melting for the right man, so I was really looking forward to Kat's book after the big revelation in Elijah's. The history between Kat and Jax is what you might expect, but external meddling kept them apart for many years and this novel is about their finding their way back to one another with a little help from Caleb the Cupid and the romantic setting of the Maldives. Jax is a great hero, loyal and true and trustworthy, and he'd never given up on Kat. Kat is a cutthroat CEO with a hard shell and a soft gooey center, frustratingly restrained with her emotions. There is a lot to like about the main characters and their love story, but the book really needed to be edited down for length. There isn't enough plot here for 460 pages and all the padding messed with the pacing, bogged down the narrative, and sucked out the tension from intense scenes. I ended up skimming a lot.
The Ice Queen Billionaire is the best of Zoe Dod to date. It delivers pain, secrets, lies, misinformation, and of course love! With years of pain how Zoe brings the warring Kat back to the life and love she left behind with Jax is masterful. While keeping pace throughout the book it leaves plenty left to be revealed in the Rebel sister’s story. My only hope going forward is that we can get the stories of Quentin, Tristan, and Xander they will need some no nonsense women to make them seek out love and leave the player lifestyle behind.
With only one obvious mistyped word in the final chapter I would recommend reading the whole series as it all builds upon the previous books.
What a great Christmas present this was when it landed in my kindle! I have thoroughly enjoyed this series so far and book 4 which is Kat and Jaxsons story was just brilliant. I was pleased it was a longer book and I think this book needed it so it delve into the story. There is also a backstory that has been building in the background which continues in this book, so it’s recommended you read in order.
There are some comical light relief moments which are great and come in the form of Kat’s brothers, especially Caleb.
The HEA was perfect 🥰
The teaser for Book 5 Harpers story has now got me patiently waiting 😬
Yet another one hit out of the park. They should be read in order but I can’t wait to see what the final book contains. Jax and Kat have been circling each other with the obvious something happened and it used to be good. I still can’t with the two hooligans who caused so much drama. Selfish doesn’t seem like a strong enough word. But enemies due to she cannot stand to look at him and they both feel betrayed by the other.
3.5 stars. This started kind of weak but improved around the half-way point. Kat was much more likeable once she accepted that the past she knew was a manipulation. Jax is kind of awesome. He's smart and driven and hot--and excessively patient. The mystery of Kat's dad is getting more interesting. The ending was a little sappy but all the characters were even more lovable at this point. I hate that I have to wait so many months for the next book.
The book was good, but I thought a better job could have been done bringing in info of their past. It was repeated so many times that I thought she just needed a filler. I also was troubled by the last few chapters. It was as if the wrap-up was filled with unnecessary words. The breaking of Kat's walls were never really easy flowing. I also wanted more about Jax and his sensuality.
Is this man for real? He took his F buddy to dinner & even told h’s brother. Brother didn’t even think to say after he’s found out about the two of them here what was you & Michelle about then the other week?!?! & did he fuck Michelle that night like he intended?!?! We don’t know. Details matter. Author did something similar in Caleb’s book also.

Lacked chemistry for me. Liked the characters of the family and there was some interesting storyline which turned into not really much! Had the potential but didn’t do it for me! Would’ve loved to learn more about both FMC and MC and the sudden change felt rushed, went from slow to done! Yep not a good one. Let’s hope harpers story delivers more plot and flows better, when it comes out!
This was a lovely read, great MMC, great FMC all the other billionaires in the back ground. I have loved every page. I really love this author. Spice, plot, character development, interesting side characters, sense of belonging, also sense of longing - very emotional it hits all the spots for me. HEA.
I have been waiting for this book and man did it NOT disappoint!!! Zoe has done it again. Great story, I could not put it down!!! Can't wait for Harper's book!!!! Thanks for the great Christmas gift!
This series is so good. The whole Frazer family are just so adorable and quirky, and the shenanigans going on in the background kept me on the edge of my seat. Desperately awaiting the next one! And then, hopefully, the Frazer cousins too...
This is one book I didn’t fly through as I never wanted it to end. Jaxson and Kat’s love was so tragic and beautiful. The locations, the plotting, the familial loyalty, this was such a happy read. I can’t wait to learn of what Harper has been up to next.
Easy read, plenty of energy that kept the story rolling toward a perfect ending. Great read for all romance lovers. All the family interactions helped build the story and lay the ground work for more romance.
I love how the writer builds the characters through out the book rather than info dumping in the beginning. The love story was amazing. I also really liked how the author placed the past tense information through out the book and slowly built up their story.
