Becoming Free

Rate this book
Becoming Free is a raw, unflinching memoir of survival, healing, and the fight to reclaim self-worth. With courageous honesty and gripping storytelling, Amanda takes listeners into the darkest corners of her life—childhood trauma, abuse, betrayal, motherhood, and loss—and the strength it took to rise from them.

From the chilling impact of a wrong number that changed everything to the heartbreak of losing her little brother to violence, each chapter reveals the resilience of a woman determined to break generational cycles. Through it all, her five children witnessed her evolution in real time—proof that healing is possible even in the face of unimaginable pain.

Told with unapologetic truth and piercing clarity, Becoming Free is more than a memoir—it is a mirror for every woman who has ever questioned her worth, and a reminder that healing isn’t linear, but it is always within reach. For anyone who has carried silence or shame, this is a story of pain. A story of power. A story of becoming free.

Very raw, gritty, and honest account of surviving SA. The voice actor did an incredible job of emoting the story, and was easily the most enjoyable aspect of this book. Kudos to the author for her candor and bravery.

This book wasn’t my childhood, but it sure felt like my past when it came to love and letting go. Amanda spoke on pain I’ve lived through and the freedom that comes after choosing yourself. It’s vulnerable, powerful, and a reminder that healing is possible—even when you don’t come from brokenness.
