For two thousand years, the Vatican has protected a secret powerful enough to shatter Christianity itself.
When an ancient relic protected by the Knights Templar resurfaces, it ignites a global conspiracy that forces a long-buried truth back into the light—one so dangerous the Church was willing to erase bloodlines, suppress history, and kill and eradicate the Templars to protect it. They buried all evidence in their secret archives library.
Hidden within forbidden Vatican archives and deliberately erased medieval records lies evidence of a lost gospel and a lineage deemed too threatening to the Vatican dogma to survive. As historians, scholars, and covert operatives race across sacred ruins, ancient monasteries, and forgotten strongholds, each discovery exposes fragments of a past carefully rewritten to preserve power over faith, belief, and humanity itself.
But the relics are more than symbols.
What if the Holy Grail was never just a cup? What if a codex exists that allowed man to speak to God? What if Lucifer is not who the church has told she was? Who is the real Black Madonna?
What if Christ left behind knowledge about the soul, creation, and the afterlife—truths that challenge everything humanity believes about the creator, good and evil, and our origins?
And what if releasing that knowledge would destroy the illusion upon which empires and religions were built?
As shadowy forces move to suppress the truth once again, centuries-old oaths are tested and ancient alliances re-emerge. The past and present collide in a race against time where the truth itself becomes more dangerous than any weapon—and those sworn to protect the secret will stop at nothing to keep it buried.
Spanning medieval Jerusalem to modern-day New York, Geneva, Boston, San Francisco, and Afghanistan, The Ninth Templar blends meticulously researched history, religious mystery, archaeological discovery, and modern espionage into a gripping conspiracy thriller that challenges what we believe about faith, power, and destiny.
Perfect for readers of Dan Brown, Steve Berry, James Rollins, Lee Child, Clive Cussler, Vince Flynn, Brad Meltzer, and James Patterson, this is an epic thriller for anyone drawn to Vatican secrets, Templar mysteries, and truths buried beneath the sands of time.
The truth was hidden for a reason.
The bloodline was protected for a purpose. One man stands through time to watch over the truth and the bloodline, awaiting the birth of the paladin heir.
Now the heir has awakened—and destiny has begun. The stakes will determine the very survival of humanity.
Picked this up on a whim and genuinely couldn't put it down. If you're into historical conspiracy thrillers, think Dan Brown meets Umberto Eco, this is easily one of the best Knights Templar novels I've come across in years.
Holbrook clearly did his homework.
The historical detail around the founding of the Order, the persecution under Philip IV, the Vatican's suppression of Templar knowledge, it's all meticulously researched, not hand-waved for plot convenience. You can tell the difference immediately.
Pacing is excellent. The story moves from medieval Jerusalem to modern-day New York, Geneva, and Afghanistan, and every location shift feels earned rather than forced. The central mystery, what the Templars actually discovered beneath the Temple of Solomon and why Rome needed it buried, kept me guessing well past where I expected the reveals to land. That almost never happens.
What really separates this from other Holy Grail fiction is that Holbrook isn't afraid to actually go there. Most books in this genre hint at the big questions about Christ's lineage, lost gospels, suppressed theology, even the nature of good and evil itself, then pull back. This one doesn't. It's thought-provoking without being preachy, and the action sequences are genuinely tense.
Highly recommend for anyone who loves mystery thrillers, Templar history, or conspiracy fiction with real substance behind it.
I really wanted to like this book. The story has a good premise, it’s a bit Constantine meets Dirk Pitt meets Robert Langdon. I felt many times this story was vaguely familiar. I definitely want to know what happens next, so will buy the next book when it comes out.
My issues with this are with all in the production: the lack of editing, to fix typos and lack of or incorrect punctuation, the weird paragraph formatting and spacing, and the illustrations. Some illustrations have captions, some don’t, but with the way the paragraphs are formatted (lack of indent and spacing between, as though it was written in some web page format much like this review), you don’t always know what is caption and what is the next line of the story - it’s all just words on a page. The illustrations aren’t credited - did the author make them? Ordinarily, the page layout should accommodate illustrations without interrupting the text, but this layout is a little jarring to skip almost an entire page to get to the next that has a full plate, which really doesn’t add much to the story. I feel like it wants to be a graphic novel when it grows up. The later chapters had less illustrations and I felt it flowed better page to page. For Book 2, I suggest less illustrations, and when used, just anchor them at the top of the page they apply to rather than anchored to the paragraph. Center and italicize captions, and caption all or none. Please have someone edit for punctuation and missing words or typos.
The story is 4 stars, the strange format and poor editing is 2 stars, so 3 overall.
Ninth Templar: Guardian of the Grail is a gripping conspiracy thriller that blends history, religion, and mystery into a high-stakes narrative. Drawing on the Knights Templar and long-buried secrets, the story explores the idea that the truth behind the Holy Grail may be far more profound than legend suggests. The novel builds intrigue through its layered mythology lost gospels, hidden bloodlines, and a prophecy powerful enough to reshape humanity’s understanding of faith. The global scope and historical depth give the story an epic feel, while the central mystery keeps the tension moving forward. Fans of The Da Vinci Code-style storytelling will find plenty to enjoy here, with its mix of historical speculation, suspense, and philosophical questions.
This is not the author's first book, so it should have been more polished. There is very little character development. You finish one paragraph and the next is someplace/sometime totally diiferent; no connection between them. It reads like the outline of a story rather than a completed, flowing narrative. Very jarring to read. That being said; the plot was a great take on the Templar legends. I really want to like this series and will try the second book in the series. I wonder if Amazon edited this Kindle version, making such a hash of it.
I have never read a book from this author, and I thought this looked very interesting. I was very pleased with this book and the writing style of dawn. I cannot wait for the other books to be released.
Ninth Templar delivered an excellent experience. They were professional, reliable, and attentive to detail throughout the process. Communication was smooth, and the quality of their work exceeded my expectations.
I loved this book, the pictures was Awesome, the characters were very interesting, I love anything about the Templars the plots and twists were exciting..
I enjoyed reading Ninth Templar: Guardian of the Grail. The story delivers a compelling mix of Knights Templar history, Vatican intrigue, and high-stakes suspense that keeps the momentum strong throughout. The blend of faith, mystery, and modern conspiracy creates an engaging atmosphere that will appeal to readers who enjoy intelligent, fast-paced religious thrillers.
Ninth Templar: Guardian of the Grail is a thoughtful blend of historical intrigue and philosophical inquiry. What sets it apart is its treatment of truth not as something static, but as something guarded and shaped. The interplay between faith, power, and secrecy gives the story real weight, and the movement between past and present reinforces the idea that history is never truly buried.
