A single mother holding everything together through her first holiday as a divorcee, Thyri Anderson, has a lot to contend with. Between raising a teenage son, who’s become attracted to the allure of the streets, and a father recovering from a stroke, she’s been keeping her life balanced through sheer will and a promise to herself that she may bend but never break. When she takes on a job as a nanny to get up money to get her father out of a dire health situation, she doesn’t expect to be enamored by her employer on the first day. Enzo Sullivan is a single father and business owner by day and a contracted hitman by night. Coming from a family whose name precedes them, he moves with intention and precision in every aspect of his life. And the only place he’s soft is at home – with his two-year-old son. As the holidays are ushered in, Thyri and Enzo connect through their love for family, devotion to their sons, and willingness to make things happen. In a season built on bringing people together, they learn that sometimes the best gift may be someone who understands your world.
I really enjoyed this and the introduction of these characters. I am so looking forward to learning more about them and to see how these couples or potential couples work things out. I did not find a character yet that I did not like or that I didn’t wanna hear more or learn more of including Kennedy and Kaleb. This is a nice way to end 2025. I would recommend this novella to top off your 2025 reading.
this was the yummiest appetizer. I am salivating for the next course! what a wonderful introduction to these characters.
I adore Thyri! She is the definition of solid; standing on business in every aspect of her life. Respect is a requirement. Personality, professionally, & especially about her family. I need Enzo bad! my favorite quote: [ “So, y’all get crazy when y’all in love, huh?” He nodded slowly. “And very territorial. But we loyal.. and protect with our lives.” ] tells me everything I need to know about him. 😩 Them together is 👩🏾🍳😘! Their chemistry is beyond! I’m ready for them to make some magic together.
I love EJ🥹, KJ (I just know he gonna stress me & his mama out some more), Danae, Aura Poppa D, AND all of them Sullivans.
I love everything that I have seen so far. I’m super thirsty for more. They have all the makings of my new favorite book family.
P.S. I foresee KJ’s daddy being on my nerves too.. I just know it.
This was a nice introduction to what could be. The characters were well developed as we got a glimpse into their background and how they got into the situations they were in, present day. It moved pretty fast with Thyri becoming the nanny for Enzo's son who was such a cutie by the way. Even though she was there to help him out, they formed a partnership in a way which was nice to see and they vibed so effortlessly.
I liked how Enzo was assertive with Thryi but not in a controlling kind of way and respectful of her. Although this book had no spice, it wasn't missed as you easily became engaged in the story and where it was going to go. Now was I mad when I got to the end, YES, however, I trust the process and am excited to see where these characters go in the next book.
A Hitman’s Gift for Christmas by Nai was surprisingly peaceful, wholesome and grounded, which is wild considering the MMC is literally a hitman. The balance in this story is what makes it hit. Thyri is carrying the weight of the world on her back single motherhood, a teenage son flirting with the streets and a father recovering from a stroke. Weak where tuh she's handling it all with her head held high. She’s tired, yes but determined. That “bend but never break” spirit stayed consistent the entire read.
😏 Enzo a whole contradiction in the best way. Cold, precise and dangerous outside the home but soft and intentional with his son and with Thyri. Their connection didn’t feel rushed or forced it felt natural, rooted in shared responsibility, family values and mutual understanding. No chaos, no unnecessary drama, just two adults recognizing safety and peace in each other. Lil EJ is attached to her it's so cute.
What really stood out is the world building. This didn’t read like a throwaway holiday novella. The character development, family dynamics and subtle layering made it feel like the foundation for something much bigger. You can already see multiple storylines forming and honestly I want all of them.
This was a warm, intentional Christmas read that left me wanting more and that’s how you know it was done right.

Ms. Nai, you were smooth with this one. We got a prequel and a Christmas story all in one. I am anticipating the next book because I get the feeling it's going to be fire. Enzo and Thyri are just getting started. EJ is a whole wingman out in these streets. Oh, and let's not forget about Aura's persistence and how he admires Danae. The Sullivan's men know what and who they want while diving head first into the situation. Enzo and Thyri are going to make the perfect blended family. EJ is going to have a big brother to look up to. He will also have a mother in his life, something that every child needs and should have at his young age. Enzo is going to finally get loved properly by a woman. Thyri will have all the attention and affection a real kept woman displays.
Ladies and gents, this is a holiday feel that touches you right here 💜. If no one else makes your heartstrings, thump EJ will alone. So grab your copy today. You will be glad you did.
A quick Christmas read that gave slow burn with real warmth. Nai always comes through with the vibes but this one hit soft in the best way. Thyri is a single mama just trying to stay afloat during the holidays. The way her story unfolded was raw and relatable. Enzo? That man is all focus and precision with a quiet softness only family brings out. He didn’t say too much but when he did, it landed. Their connection was patient. No rush. No insta-love. Just grown folks easing into something that might turn out real. I appreciated how Nai didn’t force heat just gave us one kiss that said everything without needing more. Their bonding? Loved it. The pacing? Perfect. This felt like the beginning of something bigger, and I’m all in for what’s next. Short, cozy, and goodt. The kind of holiday story you don’t forget.
Good introduction to the characters in this book. I’m really looking forward to reading the next book because I want to see where Enzo and Thyri’s relationship goes because off the bat they had undeniable chemistry especially Thyri and Enzo’s son EJ. I also want to see if Enzo’s egg donar baby mama comes back in the picture. Oh so much to unpack and not a second book in sight🤦🏾♀️. Man yall just gotta read the book, I promise you guys won’t be disappointed except there is no second book at this time.
Wow, what an absolutely enchanting novella! The chemistry between Enzo and Thryi was off the charts—I could practically feel the love sparkling between them! And let’s not forget about EJ; his adorable, imaginative spirit just stole my heart! KJ totally rocked it, too! I’m totally craving more of Aura and Danae; they sound like a hilarious duo that would bring so much fun to the story! Can't wait for more!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5| No spice 🌶️ I really like this story plot and characters! I wish I would’ve known it was going to end with story not completed. This book was more so like a prologue to the actual book. I’m curious to see how the relationship between the MMC and FMC is going to progress.
I would recommend this but would set expectations that this is another book after this! 💖
I really enjoyed this story and I know that there is so much more to come. I'm loving the thought of Enzo and Thyri together. She deserves a lil happiness since her husband went away and broke her heart in the same day. I love the bond she is forming with EJ. I think his egg donor is hard of hearing though and Enzo ain't gonna have no problem cleaning her ears out. I can't wait to see what Aura and best friend got going on.💕💕
Enzo is a Boss with BDE! He needed a nanny because his family swears EJ is a little terrorizer. I love how he stepped up when his bm left. He won’t let her use EJ as a pawn either. He’s a real one. A Hitter, but a real family man. He hires Thyri and falls for her. Her son, KJ, is already friends with some of the Sullivan family kids and her cousin, Danae, boss is in the Sullivan family as well. Can’t wait for a follow up.
This promising novel captivates from the first pages, introducing compelling characters like Enzo, Thyrie, and the Sullivan family. Their intricate dynamics and engaging storylines suggest an exciting narrative that holds great potential for an exceptional literary journey.
Hmmm, 🤔 it’s beginning to look 👀 like something more than Christmas…lots of Kem’istry 🤭😉 between the Anderson’s & Sullivan’s⁉️ “A Hitman’s Gift for Christmas” was a good holiday read, entertaining & great foundation for future spinoffs. Oooh, something brewing & I can’t wait 📚🍿….”what are you doing New Year’s Eve”🤭👀💞‼️
Enzo and Thyri story was cute and straight to the point. Thyri needed some money to help with her sick dad, and decided to take a nanny job. Enzo had a dark side but other than that he was a loving single father. I liked the vibes with Enzo and Thyri it wasn’t forced. I hope we will get another story on these two.
This was a cute little Christmas story. The fact that EJ is head over heels for his nanny and he’s only 2 is so cute. Then you can tell Enzo is about that life. I hope there will be a book 2 that’s more in-depth because I really like these charters.
I feel like we can get some series outta the Sullivan Family. From the cleaners to the cousins! 😂🤣 🤏🏾🤏🏾🤏🏾🤏🏾 I need to know what happens on Christmas Day Where Granny at and did she hit it big at the casino D and Aura 🫣🤭 Poppa D and Auntie 🫖 I meaaaaannnnnn Enzo, Thyri, KJ and EJ
This was such a good read, fine shiiii!!! lol And we don’t gotta argue this time since there will be more to come. I need the whole family to get a book at this point lol and THAT we can argue about lol
Cannot wait for the continuation of Enzo and Thryi’s story. I love the chemistry and connection building for these two. Danae and Aura gone be a site to see when Aura finally wears her down.
Great read.
New to me author that I will continue to check out.
This was a cool read. I was really waiting like them to see if EJ was going to like the oatmeal. Baby boy be too serious about his meal. I loved how he vibes with her off top. I can't wait to see what happens with them. I wish it could've been longer it felt unfinished.
Really good quick read. I can't wait until the next installment comes out. All of the characters were relatable, well E.J was a bit unrealistic f I r a 2 year old but still cute.
This book was so good! I can’t wait until the next book. I like how Enzo and Thyir are what each other needed. Then it was funny how everybody was connected to the Sullivan party that all three were invited and not invited to 😂!
I can't wait for more from these characters. Their story has started off so sweet. The cuteness of their journey is nice and sweet, let's see what happens when the exes in their life catch on.
Yeah I'm ready for another book chic baby I loved these characters and their families. This was really good. Nothing like parents who bout they kids hands down and bout their family and business just as much. I truly enjoyed this.
I enjoyed this read it was fast paced and to the point. The build up between the two characters was nice and steady. I’m ready to hear more from them. I love the humor in the story. This was cute read.
This was a good read. It's crazy because I always believed that a child can always sense when something is or isn't right. This is the reason I felt like EJ opened up to Thyri with no problem. I believe Thyri and Enzo will make a beautiful couple.
This was the most well written holiday novella I've read so far. The spice level was a 1 but the beauty of the story was a 10. I am anticipating a delightful follow-up about the Sullivan's.
Thyri and Enzo’s chemistry was 🔥. I loved the brief glance of all the family members in this novella. Can’t wait to read some of the love stories from the characters introduced in this book. Good start to a new series.
