An unbonded omega with a difficult past, Kaylee's trying to run and put down roots at the same time. The bad news? She's got with a trunk full of Christmas Eve groceries to deliver, a fake ZapChow account, and rent coming up faster than the snowstorm on the horizon. When her GPS directs her to a ritzy gated community full of big trees and (hopefully) bigger tippers, fate has something different in store.
Chris and Javier are a bonded alpha couple ready to step out for a work party after days of sexy, secret teasing and keeping each other on edge. When the weather turns their plans upside-down and the impossible shows up on their doorstep, they know this is one unexpected holiday gift they can’t wait to unwrap–and enjoy–together.
Weirdly heavy plot, so much so that the novella format does not work. What purpose did the fundamentalist/cult background serve at all? This book couldn't decide if it wanted to be about religious trauma or a spicy omega-verse story, but either way, 75 pages wasn't enough time to do either well when she was trying to do both.
Kaylee is an unbonded omega just trying to survive after leaving a bad relationship. Chris and Javier are bonded alphas preparing for a Christmas party when the weather derails their plans and brings Kaylee straight to their door.
I loved Chris and Javier’s relationship from the start. Their established bond, their banter, and added kink made this feel more exciting than a typical omegaverse holiday romance. Kaylee also has a lot to unpack from her past with Gerald (we hate him), and I really appreciated how patient and supportive Chris and Javier were with her healing.
This novella is short, fun, and genuinely cute, with a great balance of softness and spice. I finished it smiling and wishing it was longer. I really hope we get more of this pack!!
An amazing read that’s got me liking Omegaverse romance!
This was sweet and spicy without too much trauma-dumping to establish the FMC’s character and background. The MMC’s were adorable and believable, and I really appreciate how the read really makes us feel like we’ve suddenly landed inside an established sexy (and fun/funny) dynamic. I hope we hear from this trio again, and since I’m a sucker for side characters, Charles should be “rewarded” for being a good guy!
This is literally the best Christmas present ever. New VERA, OMEGAVERSE, and the boyfriends are boyfriends. Yum. It was short and sweet and perfectly smutty and I can’t wait for their story to continue. Hopefully Vera will actually write the next one bc I’ve been hurt before. (Rip Tempest Tossed you were bigger than the whole sky)
Despite being snowed in, you won’t get cold with these three. Vera is a master in shorter stories and the way she weaves complex personalities with little words is magic. I loved every word written and I am looking forward to more. Happy holidays!
