We started going through this with Kate in 2014 when Kate was 3.5. We started with Sophie in 2017 before she turned 3.

Using this book, we taught Kids' Quest at our Presbyterian church from 2014–2018. Here's a related article on teaching theology to children. You can buy a copy here (Amazon is 10x as expensive).

Great starter catechism.
