I'm a hoe for Jujutsu Kaisen, so what other rating could I possibly give to this volume? My skies were cleared the day that this was announced and I've been happily reading the chapters ever since. The new story is fine, but I'm mostly here to see what happened to my favorite boys and girls from the main series. Like, come on. YutaMaki canon and married with children and living to old age surrounded by a family that loves them? That's what I want to hear. And same as Gege Akutami himself, I can also just not get over Sukuna and he is basically mentioned every other chapter. Big win for me.
right when i thought it was going to be a cute short manga, gege hit me with sad yuuji. and i hate sad yuuji because he's my favourite. gege when i catch you.

After the end of JJK I was not expecting to get anything else in this world, so it was surprising to see Modulo was going to be a thing.
I’m very interested, though.
Seeing the JJK world so many years after the end is so cool, on one hand; and in the other hand, it’s really interesting to get to know about this whole other side of things… even if there was never a hint that they existed.
Maru, Cross, Yuka, and Tsurugi are all very endearing in their own ways, and I’ve loved getting to know them more. Even if the way things are now are not the best.
In good JJK fashion, the fights and power systems are complicated and amazing, which always makes for a fun combination to experience.
I just don’t know how I’ll get over the heartache that Gege loves inflicting upon us.
I'll read anything Gege writes, and this is some of the best he's done. Especially considering the story's (very timely) themes. It's actually insane how quickly I cared for these new characters, and, of course, in Gege fashion, heartbreak is ALWAYS right around the corner.
Anything JJK will always hold a special place in my heart, but Modulo certainly lives up to it.
And Yuji Iwasaki's artwork!! It's a perfect fit. An easy five stars.
i like this it’s cute! since it’s shorter Im hoping it’s gonna be more based on emotions / politics than a bunch of fights. don’t know what mahitos got to do with this though😭

As huge a fan of Jujutsu Kaisen as I am, Modulo terrified me. I was one of the first to say it wasn't needed. Yet, I was very pleasantly surprised with this first volume. 60 years after the end of the first manga, Yuta and Maki’s grandchildren will have their fate tied with two alien twins from the Simurian race. They’ll be key elements of the politics between these otherworldly creatures and Japan.
Gege managed to create a world very different from his first story, without losing the elements of JJK we all love. We get a very compelling plot, already paced by great combat scenes and philosophical discussions between the characters. The story itself is only a means to an end, as its main theme is definitely around what being human truly means. The characters are already very easy to fall in love with, and I’m not ready for Gege to give his special treatment to them.
Gege was accompanied by an illustrator to draw the panels he imagined, and the result is so more blindblowing than I could have imagined. Even if I love Gege’s style, this new art style helped in highlighting the differences between the two series, and gave an almost ethereal vibe to the new characters (I mean, Yuka literally looks like a shoujo character). I can't wait to see how it will evolve with the story.
Unnecessary completely unnecessary bro Chapter 271 was a shit ending but it made sense and accounted for everything that needed to be accounted for Yūji not aging made sense but we didn’t need all of this shit to explain it I literally only read this for the shin sashisu angst which was there for like two panels lmao OKAY NOW ONTO POWERSCALING everyone glazing yuta as expected because Gege wrote this BUT UNEXPECTED YŪJI GLAZE??? okay now bro has got -cleave and dismantle (sukuna) -blood manipulation (aborted foetus children) - inability to age (aborted foetus children) - command black flash (practise + talent) -EXTREME cursed energy control (gojo teaching) - nonchalance and no emotion towards killing (loss of friends - A STILL ALIVE BROTHER (todo + choso im guessing) (EDIT: CHOSO IS DEAD OMG IM SO DUMB HE DIED IN VOL 23 MBBB) (actual truama response how did i block that out) Now onto the negative things he has -no friends (inability to age) - no huzz (𝓶𝓮𝓰𝓾𝓶𝓲 is dead) - no dad figure (kenjaku + gojo dead) -no beat friend (started ghosting nobara) - a shit load of trauma (sukuna)
And bro now he’s gonna start being like geto I hate this shit
I was not particularly fond of JJK's ending but I made my peace with it. So when I first heard about Modulo I was not really sure but this is better than I expected. In Modulo, we follow Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, the grandchildren of Maki and Yuta. Yuka wants to be like Yuta and has similar techniques to Megumi whereas Tsurugi does not have cursed energy and wants to be like Maki (and Toji). I'm still not sure about the whole alien thing but Maru seems okay. Buuut it was nice to see two people from the original series even though it was very brief. It is too early to comment on everything. I'll keep reading it.
Well Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is finally finished and it was good. A nice sequel after the main series and I liked the messages it was portraying.
The fights as per usual were amazing but that's to be expected of JJK now. With a runtime of only 25 chapters it was obvious there were gonna be some flaws as u can tell that there was more to be said from Gege but was limited.
For example like the ending of JJK there was a lot of exposition that was annoying and it happened again with the final chapter of Modulo. Overall I'm giving it a 7.5/10, it would be closer to a 3½ stars than 4 stars.
The Simurian people arrive on Earth in 2086, seeking refuge yet bearing staggering power, and it falls to Japan's curse users to oversee their possible immigration - but when Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu are paired with an alien agent, Maru, during sorcery investigations, any wrong move could mean disaster. Akutami and Iwasaki bring Jujutsu Kaisen fans a promising entry that decently balances both humourous and touching moments amidst visually enticing action.
I literally can’t wait each week for a new chapter. Gege, you have done it again. I didn’t think he could follow up and rectify that JJK rushed ending, but here we are.
It really does wonders when you can solely focus on the story and have a separate illustrator bang out INCREDIBLE visuals.
I was so hesitant when I first read aliens coming to earth but it was incorporated so well. GIVE ME MORE MAHORAGA!!

I’m not going to lie, I was not planning on starting this series. I’m still healing from finishing the original manga and I am always a little dubious when aliens get involved. But Gege Akutami, as per usual, knocks it out of the park. The integration ofscience fiction with the original JJK lore is flawless. The new characters are intriguing and easy to root for. I’m excited to see where this series goes!
GEGE. YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN. YUTAMAKI IS REAL. AND AlIVE. AND FUCK YES AHHHH. i love the setting we are in and the time. yuka and tsurugi are amazing as well MARU AND CROSS. cross and yuka are my fav and i love their dynamics so much. the fact that gege can get across so much in so few chapters is amazing. STUN ON THE HATERS GEGE OMG
I'm currently up to date on the Modulo manga, so this review just encompasses all of it. So far I think it's pretty enjoyable, not exactly anything groundbreaking but more fun shonen battle anime from Gege. Excited to see where it goes next.
