Evelyn intends to kill the man she’s destined to love.

She’s the shifter alpha’s fated mate, and the red marking on her hand is the proof. Captured as a child and raised in a human government facility, she’s the weapon that will finally bring the shifters to their knees.

Evelyn knows her purpose. Get close. Learn the alpha’s secrets. Then kill him.

Sent into shifter territory under the guise of a failed kidnapping, she quickly finds herself in the presence of her mate—the elusive Alpha Knox. He’s feared, ruthless, and yet nothing like the monster she was taught to expect. Instead of brutality, he offers protection. Instead of cruelty, he offers patience.

For the first time in her life, Evelyn begins to question who the real enemy is.

If she accepts the mate bond, she betrays her people. If she completes her mission, she destroys the only man who has ever treated her like she matters.

This is a review of the ARC I received from the author.

Evelyn is a human member of HPAW (human protection against wolves), a government agency dedicated to taking down wolf shifters.

Caleb is the Alpha wolf for the largest pack of shifters in Canada. His wolf is the most dominant wolf of all the alphas.

Evelyn and Caleb are fated mates, with a mate bond marking them as belonging to each other. For this reason, HPAW took Evelyn in at the age of 7 and trained her for one thing… to seduce and kill Caleb Knox and dismantle the shifter hierarchy.

This book had me on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t put it down, knowing at any moment Evelyn might make an attempt on Caleb’s life.

You’re constantly kept guessing if Evelyn will go through with the assassination attempt, or if their bond will prevail and she will choose Caleb.

Once Evelyn carry’s out her mission, I thought the story would end and it doesn’t. The heartbreak and fallout of this was so devastating, and made me cry.

The book ends not knowing if Caleb is dead or alive, and I will be thinking about everything that happened until the next book comes out in June.

Wow what a book! Evelyn was raised by a secret human organization to assassinate her Alpha wolf shifter mate. She starts to struggle with the idea once her mission to infiltrate the shifters is in progress.
Caleb is such a thoughtful MMC, he had amazing restraint and consideration for Evelyn and their budding relationship. Evelyn couldn’t help but feel that mate bond, and man did it cause her to start to wonder...

I thought the pacing of this novel was great; I never got bored. The world was dystopian and the divide between shifters and humans was well-thought out.

It took me a minute to get used to the narrative voice, but I could tell it was an intentional choice by the author. Evelyn’s inner dialogue grows and matures as she herself grows. This was done artfully and subtly throughout the course of the book. At first, I found Evelyn/narration stilted and repetitive. Eventually, she blossoms into using more complex sentence structure. I’m a nerd so I get really excited about that sorta thing 😅

I received this book as an ARC and I ate it up way too fast! I need the next one STAT, and thankfully I’ll only have to wait a few months!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 star)

I was hooked almost immediately. The human x shifter dynamic with a fated mate bond pulled me in right away, and I couldn’t stop reading.

The pacing is fast and easy to get into. I always wanted to know what would happen next. The world-building is also really approachable. You learn about the shifters, their pack structure, and their history with humans as the story unfolds, so it never feels overwhelming.

Evelyn’s journey was one of my favorite parts. Watching her question everything she was taught and slowly realize the truth about her past felt really powerful. Her internal thoughts felt real, and you could feel how conflicted she was as her world started to shift.

Caleb is a strong, protective leader who’s deeply loyal to his pack, but there are moments where his actions are shocking and make you pause. That contrast between who he is and what he’s capable of definitely kept things interesting.

Their relationship is heavily influenced by the physical pull of the mate bond, which is a big part of shifter culture. There’s a strong physical attraction between them right away, especially on Caleb’s side, while Evelyn takes longer to come to terms with it. I liked that she questioned whether her feelings were real or influenced by the bond.

The tone shifts throughout the story in a way that worked really well for me. It starts off darker because of Evelyn’s background, then becomes more focused on the relationship and world-building, before picking up into a more chaotic, high-stakes second half.

I also did immersive reading (Kindle + audiobook), and the audiobook narrated by Stefanie Kay really enhanced the experience. She captured the emotions and tone of the characters well and kept me fully engaged.

The spice is moderate to spicy, with a strong build-up of tension. The attraction between them is tied to the mate bond, which makes everything feel more intense. The spicy scenes were definitely spicing.

One thing I wanted more of was Evelyn’s fighting skills, especially with her background. It felt like there was more there.

Overall, this was a really engaging and emotional read that kept me invested from start to finish. I definitely had a bit of a book hangover after finishing, and I’ll be rereading this before book two.

It does end on a cliffhanger, so just be prepared.

I’d recommend this to anyone who enjoys shifter romance, fated mates, and character-driven stories with some darker elements mixed in. I would absolutely reread this before the next book releases.

Thank you to Invi Wright for the early copy of the ebook and audiobook.

Let me just start by saying I am unwell. I fear that I need the second book like yesterday. It’s the kind of book that had me itching when i wasn’t reading it, and had me thinking about how and when I could read more. The story is easily digestible. I loved the development of the characters and their relationship. You can really see it throughout the book. Our FMC goes through ups and downs and you can see how it affects her thought processes and understandings of the world and her situation. The MMC is just to die for. I am so eager to find out what happens with these two!! This is definitely a great book if you’re in a book slump (be warned it ends on an intense cliffhanger). Fast burn, good paced story, and plus how can you ever go wrong with a human x shifter romance anyways? Definitely a must read! 🐺🖤

I’m still reeling! What a rollercoaster of emotions! I was hooked from the very beginning.

Caleb is so protective and loving of Evelyn and their bond that I was literally screaming at the FMC to not hurt him. Their relationship is complicated and it does go through some TRIALS to say the least but the journey is worth it.

The spice was immaculate and leveled up the emotional aspect of their mate bond. The intimacy between them was felt beyond the pages.

There are illustrations in this book and I absolutely loved them! It just brought me a little deeper into the story.

I was on edge for the majority of the book but with the way things ended I will be climbing the walls until the next book releases!

Big thank you to the author, Invi Wright, for giving me the opportunity to read the book early with the ARC!

This is a review of the ARC provided by the author. This book for the first 10% had me lowkey feeling INSANE - why? Because like 10 years ago I read this book on WATTPAD. Granted it’s had some revisions and edits but girl I tell you I was wracking my brains trying to figure this out *insert crime board gif* This also means I know a bit more about the sequel than the others MWHAHAHAHA it pays to be a die hard fan

Anyway a good story, struggled with the insta love and kinda lack of chemistry between Evelyn and Caleb. I wish the finding her independence went on a bit longer so Evelyn could see herself thrive within the pack.

Can’t wait to read the next one - Adam I’m here 🫠🫶

3.5 review, but closer to 4 stars than 3

She’s baaaaaack! First, thank you to Invi Wright for this ARC of Land of Wolves: Revelations, I’m so excited to talk about this, so let’s get into it.

I believe in Invi Wright as a writer. This has actually never more true than in this book. Recently there has been a lot of online discussion about the devaluing of the romance/romantasy genre, and I have always maintained that the genre has an opportunity to make particularly poignant points about power, gender, and politics. After reading The Female series, Chev’s Mate, and even Aine, I suspected Invi Wright must feel the same way. My suspicions only grew stronger after reading LoW. Wright seems to be grappling with a lot of the sociopolitical issues present in American society today, and, like in her other books, real discussions about captivity and propaganda. It is really refreshing to see real thoughts about American exceptionalism and systems of power in a sea of books that either ignore those things completely, or put them in a fantasy land and leave the reader to wonder how the author truly feels. I’m not sure that the points are as handily made as they were in The Female books, but I think there’s still room for it later in the series. With so much ground to cover, I do think the political discussions are actually better placed at a different part of this tale.

Conversely, I feel like Evelyn’s emotional arc felt rushed and I could have really used more of it in this book. I was really interested in this version of fated mates where the human partner also feels the bond as opposed to only the MMC. It set up an interesting dynamic between Evelyn’s training and her instinct to fall deeper with Caleb. However, I would have loved to really hear her thought process and how her upbringing was informing her decisions so we could be really on the ride with her When I read Chev’s Mate, I felt similarly with Vanessa’s struggle to accept Chev. While Vanessa and Evelyn ultimately get where I want (need, really, as I feel kinda feral about both Caleb and Chev lol) them to be, they both move from adamant to acquiescent with a prosaic path not consistent with the artful way Wright handles her world building and platonic relationships.

So naturally, I loved watching Evelyn work on her life This was some of the real strength of the book, and Wright takes her time here. Evelyn’s path learning truly allow us (and her!) to see what kind of person she is and could be. I love seeing her relationship with Adam and look forward to more with this duo —It reminds me of Rock and Charlie. Speaking of Charlie, I was SO glad to see Evelyn be allowed to have anger at what had been done to her —and indignant anger at that. (Full disclosure: I continue to be indignant on Charlie’s behalf in Her Males.)

I’m really excited about this new world, there’s a lot to be explored here with these wolf shifters, and their potential for their mates to be on either side of the political conflict. I’m curious about Adam’s mate, . That being said, here’s my hope for the rest of the series:

I worry this sounds like a negative review when truthfully, I have read this book three times since receiving this ARC, and each time I was engaged the whole way through. My deep engagement for the text feels to me more of a reflection of my enjoyment than anything else. I hope my critiques are received by other people looking at this book in the way I mean them: earnest discussion about a world I loved visiting. In all, this was a truly delightful and riveting read and i remain a fan and a believer. I will absolutely be continuing with this series, and I can’t wait for the next one!

Last month I remember wanting to make space for some shifter romance in March and boy did Invi Wright deliver! The first book in her new paranormal romance duet takes what you thought you expected from a wolfy, fated mates story and flips it on its head. There were some pretty refreshing takes on the tropes shifter romance fans know and love, and I truly enjoyed it!

What I liked:
🥰 The focus on the MCs internal traits vs. physical traits. In my experience, shifter romances are very focused on the washboard abs, gorgeous smiles, etc, etc. (not complaining, we love it haha) Though we DID get that our Alpha was a gorgeous specimen, there truly wasn’t an overly physical representation of him or Evelyn in this book. We were very much involved with his treatment of the pack, their treatment of each other, Evelyn’s conflict between what she was told to believe vs. what she sees with her own eyes. No kitschy knot details, cringe descriptions or any of that. It was tasteful and honestly pretty locked down, even through the spicy moments.

🐺 The unique attitude towards fated mates. Typically in shifter romances/anything that involves a “mate,” the characters are free to go about their lives and settle down once they feel that bond come to life. In LoW, the shifters respect their mates and instead live celibate lives until they find their mate. If they don’t, there’s a very visible way to tell they’ve strayed. I thought that the change with this trope was nice! No conniving exes to deal with, or mean girls with ridiculous drama, we just got to focus on the relationship between Evelyn and Caleb. It shook up my expectations a bit, and I love that in a book.

💔 Very REAL reactions to betrayal. There is a HUGE moment of betrayal (not cheating) in the book, and despite the bond, the character’s reactions are honestly more along the lines of what an actual person would have. I feel like it’s pretty easy to hide behind the mate bond and say “oh they were f*cked up but you know what, I feel this magic and I still love them anyways.” Invi didn’t settle into that familiar resolution, and instead took us on a journey from rude awakening to reluctant enlightenment to sacrificial decision-making. I couldn’t predict what was going to come from the most emotional part of the book, which is anxiety-inducing in the best way.

So, if you’re in the market for a refreshing shifter romance with a slightly dystopian/urban fantasy setting, give this one a shot!

ARC Review

Land of Wolves, by Invi Wright, is a fast-paced and engaging story that follows Evelyn on her assignment to kill her fated mate. Evelyn was taken in at age 7 by HPAW, a U.S governmental agency that serves to protect humanity against the wolves that endanger them. They have trained her specifically for this task. As Evelyn carries out her orders, she learns that everything is not what it seems, leading her to question who the real enemy is.

What I enjoyed:
This book was a fast-paced, easy read that kept me engaged throughout. I really enjoyed the illustrations the author included through the book! It helped me visualize the characters and the setting and was a nice touch! Furthermore, I liked how the author treated the mating bonds in the story. Not only are the bonds revered, but they also have formed social constructs around them that make the mating bond more unique than I have seen in other stories that just have them there for the plot, but don't do much with them.

Some thoughts:
While I enjoyed the story overall, I would've liked to see Evelyn more fleshed out. I felt like with her back story, there was a lot of telling but not showing and I think that showing through memories or flashbacks some more of her background would've made it more impactful and emotionally compelling. Secondly, the FMC is tagged as an assassin in the advertising, which led me to believe that that was her vocation, like Aelin from Throne of Glass for example. This could've been the intention, but she didn't feel like much of an assassin to me so I was mildly disappointed.

Overall:
It was a really fun read! I had a great time reading it and am grateful that I was given the opportunity to do an arc review! I'm excited to see the story continue to play out in book 2!

Am I surprised that Invi Wright has me up at 3am to finish another one of her books? Absolutely not! The heartache almost killed me!

✨ captured at 8 years old
✨ indoctrinated by a corrupt GOVT to hate Wolves
✨ sent on a mission to kill the Alpha
✨ … who is her MATE

Evelyn ran away at 8 years old to find her mate but was instead taken by HPAW and indoctrinated to hate Wolves. She trained for 15 years to find the Alpha and kill him.

Caleb Knox, the alpha was not what Evelyn expected. He was kind, patient and caring, something that Evelyn had never experienced before. Watching their mate bond grow as they fell for each other had me rooting for Evelyn to give up on her mission and pick him.

When she finally ties to kill him, and he realises he had been betrayed by the one he had fallen in love with… my heart ached, literal chest pains!!

The spice 🌶️🌶️… immaculate, the tension, the mate bond, what’s not to love from this book?

Also can we talk about the cliffhanger ending? Tell me what happens next please, I need to know ASAP! Especially with Adam, Evelyn’s neighbour who is definitely more than what he seems.

In all honesty Invi is one of my fav authors and I expected nothing less from her. She does not disappoint with this one too. In this current climate it is fascinating and refreshing to read about how a government can indoctrinate and lead people to believe something that is far from the truth, maybe even a little eye opening for those living in the US? Hey, but who am I to comment all the way from NZ? 🤷‍♀️

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review of my thoughts from this book!

This book was really interesting and I had a good time reading it! Evelyn was raised to hate shifters and to fear them. All she has ever known is what HPAW fed her and didn't know any different. She has been abused and brainwashed since she was 7 years old. I don't blame her for behaving the way she did nor do I blame Caleb for his reaction to her behavior.

Caleb is an alpha of the biggest shifter pack in Canada (maybe in the world, idk) and he has been searching for his mate his whole life. He trusted her fully right off the bat which is a bit sus for me as he literally doesn't know her. In his mind, shifters hold the mating bond to the highest esteem so he couldn't fathom a world where his mate wouldn't feel the same way. I don't blame him at all for his naivety. I really liked him as a character. He wasn't what you'd expect from a young alpha of a huge shifter pack. He is gentle, kind, and loyal. He is also hot and I like that too.

I really became invested in both of these characters after they had to make up with each other. Caleb became more realistic and not so insta lovey. Evelyn became independent and worked through all of the brainwashing that happened since she was a kid.

I am excited for the next book and can't wait to see what happens next.

Also, I need a book about Adam NEOW. I love himmmmmm

5/5, I enjoyed it and will be reading the next one!

Evelyn is a Human. She’s been with HPAW (Human Protection Against Wolves) since she was a little girl. Everything she knows about shifters is that they’re vile and repugnant. Killers. And she’s mated to one… an
Alpha.

Caleb is the Alpha of a Shifter pack close to the human borders. He has millions under him. Cities upon cities.
Men. Women. Children.

HPAW has a plan to infiltrate the shifters. They know Evelyn is mated to the Alpha. Her orders are simple-
Infiltrate and Kill the Alpha.

The mate bond is so strong.
She’s falling for him.
He’s falling for her.
So- she does the one thing that she was told…

But she wasn’t successful.

Now Caleb keeps her close. Their Mate Bond is in jeopardy and she’s learning the truth about the shifters. She’s been betrayed. Were the Shifters ever the true enemy?

And will she ever escape this fucking vehicle they’ve kidnapped her in?
And Adam…. He’s here with her too. Protecting her. But where’s Caleb? And why isn’t he the one doing the protecting?

In this thrilling ride of Human Governmental Corruption, you are brought into a world that is good- no matter what you've been told. And as Evelyn and Caleb show us just how much tension is between them- you find Caleb.... Alpha Knox... bending on his knees.

Thank you Invi Wright for this ARC read. I enjoyed Caleb and Evelyn- through the shifter verse and back... let's kick human ass in Book 2!

Evelyn was raised to despise the shifters. Born a fated mate to the Alpha Knox, she was captured by a government organization called Human Protection Against Wolves (HPAW) at the age of 7. She was educated and trained in combat and conflict in order to become the weapon to help save the human race. All she has to do is get close to the Alpha, earn his trust, extract all of his secrets... oh, and succeed in killing him. Should be easy, ...right? 🙈

I aboslutely adored this book. This was my first shifter romance, and I'm so glad that it was. Invi is incredible with her world building and character depth, everything I've read by her does a beautiful job of sucking you in and having you on the edge of your seat. I loved Caleb and the shifters, Adam especially, and I loved that this book took a different 'path' than most things I've read recently. I've noticed a pattern where most books have conflict around the 80% mark, almost like clockwork, so when things started happening around half way I was pleasantly shocked and excited! This book *does* end on a cliffhanger, but the second book in the duology will be released shortly after so we won't have to wait too long.

○ Shifter Romance
○ Fast Burn 🔥
○ Fated Mates
○ Virgin MMC & Assasin FMC 🙈

Release date is March 31st 🙂‍↕️🤍 5/5 stars. Please please read this, you won't be disappointed.

I received an ARC of this book from the author, and can already tell it will be my favorite series of hers.

I stayed up way too late reading this and immediately wanted to start a reread. Invi’s writing is addicting and impossible to put down.

The tone is dark and emotional, you know from the beginning that betrayal and heartbreak is coming. But the interactions between Evelyn and Caleb adds just enough lightness to balance it out.

I also really enjoyed the sketched illustrations throughout the book, they felt very intimate, and I love getting a glimpse of how the author envisioned certain scenes.

Evelyn has been training since she was 7 years old to infiltrate the shifter community and kill the alpha shifter.. her fated mate. And the internal conflict of this poor girl? So good. She’s torn between everything she’s been conditioned to believe and the feelings she can’t ignore. You spend the whole book hoping she will choose herself and love, over the people who indoctrinated and abused her for 15 years.

The relationship between Evelyn and Caleb is instant, but it works so well. The chemistry and banter are there from the beginning and watching the mate bond develop feels incredibly rewarding. You can’t help but root for them to overcome their setbacks.

That ending though..I need the next book immediately. 🐺🖤

ARC Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Available March 31, 2026

I was immediately pulled into this story from page one. It had me completely locked in right away, and I knew early on I was going to have a hard time putting it down.

One of the standout elements for me was the artwork included throughout the book. It added such a unique layer to the reading experience and made everything feel even more immersive.

The relationship development was one of my favorite parts. Watching the slow understanding build between the characters, along with the tension that grows as the story progresses, kept me fully invested. I genuinely just wanted to keep reading to see how everything would unfold.

There were moments where I felt a bit frustrated with the FMC, but at the same time, her actions felt very rooted in her past, which made it easy to understand her perspective. It created this balance where you feel both the tension and the emotion behind her choices.

And the tension later in the book really delivers - it adds so much depth to the story and keeps you engaged all the way through.

That ending though…I will absolutely be continuing this series and (impatiently) waiting to see what happens next.

Tropes:
• human x shifter romance
• virgin MMC & assassin FMC
• fated mates & rejected mate bonds
• she tries to kill him (literally)
• fast burn (expect spice!!)

I absolutely loved this book! I am obsessed with Invi’s other shifter romance, Aine, so when I heard she was coming out with yet another shifter romance, I needed to get my hands on it.

This book is a duology and follows Evelyn and Caleb (aka Alpha Knox). Evelyn was recruited by HPAW, a group trying to take down shifters, and her job has been tasked to kill her mate Caleb. Now what happens when Evelyn goes into this assassin attempt, ready to end all of the brutal and dangerous shifters only to find out that they’re not as bad as they’re made out to be. In fact, they’re actually nice people?

Here are a few tropes:
- Shifter x human
- Rejected Mates
- Insta-love(ish)
- One sided enemies to lovers
- Virgin MMC
- Assassin FMC

Now I usually don’t like reading insta-love, but Invi managed to do it so so so so so well. The characters are just so genuine and honestly it’s a nice change up from normal tropes.

Very interesting world bundling with Canada being overtaken by shifters. The book is set in modern days but it’s like a modern day almost fantasy setting.

I really like how the shifters were shown to be incredibly tough love, however, all of the characters are so welcoming.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I’m ready for book two!!

I received this book as an ARC and I am so honored to have been chosen to get a copy early.

First off, I love Invi Wright’s work and this book was no different.

Set in a dystopian world where shifters roam free, this human x wolf shifter pairing was phenomenal. Reading the FMC’s inner thoughts as she struggles with being a human mated to a shifter I was absolutely impressed with the character dynamics as the book went.

10/10 for spice - I wasn’t super sure how I would feel with the MMC being the inexperienced one but was pleasantly surprised that it fit really well with the story and didn’t impede the spice.

9/10 for plot- I thought it started out a tiny bit slow but now that I’ve read the full book I understand that it was needed for background and context.

I can’t wait for the next book in the series to come out! That cliffhanger at the end had me gasping. It was abrupt and I was not prepared, I honestly forgot for a second that the next book wasn’t out yet as I frantically searched for the next book in the series.

Overall it was a 9/10 read for me, I can’t wait for the next book in the series to be released and I loved the character art throughout the book. Would highly recommend.

Land of the Wolves by indie author Invi Wright is book one in a new paranormal romance duology where wolf shifters live openly in what was once Canada and fated mates share a unique matching bonding mark that they’re born with.

Human Protection Against Wolves (HPAW) is a US government agency that discovered Evelyn when she was a child. She was raised & conditioned by the agency, which identified her mate mark as a match to shifter Alpha Knox. She was taught to believe shifter’s are monstrous and capable of horrific atrocities. She was taught to be ashamed of her mark. She was trained in pain, starvation and isolation and honed to become her mate’s killer.

This book is fast paced. I mistakenly thought it was a tad surface level but the halfway mark really switched things up for me. My heart physically hurt reading the second half of this book and the ending has me needing answers. I also really enjoyed the unexpected friendship between Adam & Evelyn and appreciated the humor and levity they offered during dark times.

Land of the Wolves comes out March 31st. I highly recommend fans of fast paced paranormal romance that enjoy fated & rejected mates, shifter x human romance and secrets & betrayals and open door spice check this out!

This is a review for the ARC I received. Invi Wright has absolutely done it with this shifter novel, I was hooked from the very beginning. The writing is beautifully immersive, pulling me into the world right away and keeping me on the edge of my seat until the very end. This story took me on a full emotional ride, I found myself laughing, tearing up, and completely invested in the characters.

One thing I really appreciated was the FMC’s inner dialogue. At first, it was a bit difficult to follow, but as I kept reading, it became clear that it was intentionally written to reflect her past and personal struggles. Watching her thoughts and emotional growth evolve throughout the book ended up being one of my favorite parts, it felt very real and meaningful.

The pacing kept things engaging, with plenty of tension, emotion, and just the right amount of spice, I’d rate it a solid 3/5 🌶️. It added to the story without overpowering the plot, which I really liked.

That ending though!!! definitely a cliffhanger! I’m already at the edge of my seat waiting to see how everything unfolds in book two. If you enjoy shifter romances with emotional depth, character growth, and a story that keeps you hooked, this one is definitely worth picking up.

this book was crazyyy but amazing!!

thank you invi wright for the ARC of Land of Wolves: Revelations! 🫶🏼

evelyn is sent on a mission by HPAW into shifter lands to find her mate, alpha caleb knox and murder him! the more time she spends with him and uncovers secrets about the shifters, she starts to question if everything she was raised to believe about them was a lie—and if caleb really is the merciless killer they made him out to be.

i also wanted to state my appreciation for the interior art inside the book! invi wright not only wrote this amazing story, but she also captured moments in the book perfectly and it was something i looked forward to after every chapter! you’re amazingly talented, invi!!

i loved caleb and ev’s relationship. it progressed realistically starting from when they met and fell in love, to the rift caused by a heartbreaking betrayal, the devastation after, and the healing to overcome it.

the side characters also stood out to me—I loved Adam 🤣

i also loved the mate marks (i’ll read anything with mates and mate marks in it). the colors, the shape, and what it represents was so interesting and unique and it’s such a huge part of the story.

i definitely saw the end coming, but i’m so excited for book 2 and i can’t wait!!

Invi killed it again with another great book!

Shifters, fated mates/rejected bonds, fast spice? What more could a girl ask for.
Oh how about the fact that the fmc is an assassin sent to kill her fated mate who is the Alpha?!

I absolutely loved Evelyn. Strong badass woman, who has been through so much, sent to kill the same creatures who are said to have killed her parents. She has been told her whole life that the shifters are nothing more than cold blooded killers.

Alpha Knox is her fated mate, that she is supposed to kill. Will she be able to do it? Will she give in to the mate bond?
He is a scary shifter but absolutely adores Ev. He is a great leader for his pack and insanely powerful.

Betrayal and heartbreak happen. Will they be together or will the bond be broken forever?

I love some of the other characters like the Alphas sister and Dr Greg. Some I go back and forth with such as Adam. Still deciding on Logan, I want to like him but for some reason I feel questionable lol

I can’t wait for the next book already because what a cliffhanger that was!

3.5, 3.75 - Such an unusual take, it's a great read, v well written. *subtle spoilers*

The first 1/3 grabs you right in, it starts with action and doesn't stop.

By halfway, you're pretty sure where it's headed - then it takes a sharp freaking left. I was NOT expecting her to actually go through with it. Then she's kept alive and tbh I didn't love how she became part of the town afterward. Relationships/connections? Absolutely, they were perfect. We have a cranky neighbor who is ofc more than he seems (leading us into book II), and a librarian with a sweet heart (I confess, I melted when she found out what a library card was).

There was just something about it - maybe it was anticlimactic for me when you consider the HEAVY of everything that came before? In addition, I was a bit angry at our FMC at her complete lack of observational skills. I NEEDED her to ask questions. Even one. And she never did. and I'm gonna feel spicy about that for a while.

Overall, a solid contribution to the shifter romance genre, and we LOVE A STRONG FMC. Looking forward to book II!

I ’m still in shock… Invi has done it again. I devoured this in one night, and while I expected it to be good, I didn’t expect to be completely gripped from start to finish.

Evelyn’s story is intense and emotional, but her strength is what really stands out. She carries so much, yet never feels weak, and that made her such a compelling FMC to follow. And Caleb… easily my favourite. Intense, protective, a complete gentleman… With a filthy mouth, but with that edge that makes him impossible to ignore. The tension and yearning between them was everything.

I genuinely couldn’t put this book down, and now I’m left heartbroken that it’s not fully out yet (thankfully we don’t have too long for book 2…). The plot is well developed, the pacing keeps you hooked, and it hits all the right notes if you want spice, fated mates, a strong FMC, and a MMC that truly yearns this book is for you! But be warned… You won’t be able to sleep till you’ve finished the book.

This is an easy 5-star read for me. I’m already desperate for the next book.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I could have easily devoured this in one day if I had the time. I was on the edge of my seat while reading and I would have started book two immediately if it was available. SO bingeable. I love a little shifter romance, and this had some dystopian aspects as well.

It’s easy to read but doesn’t lack depth, and I loved the character dynamics. Evelyn is our human FMC who was literally raised and trained to kill Caleb, our MMC who is an alpha wolf shifter. They’re also fated mates, but not in an annoying and overdone way. I loved the way the mating bond was tackled in this book, it was very unique and refreshing.

The side characters were entertaining too, and I really starting loving Evelyn’s relationship with Adam, and even Mary. And Sash 😭 I neeeed to know how that progresses.

I was so invested in these characters that I felt physically sick over the betrayal. And the ending??? A devastating cliffhanger.

Thank you to Invi Wright for the ARC of this novel. All opinions are my own. 🫶🏻

This book had me hooked from the start and I couldn’t put it down, it was the definition of “one more chapter” if you know what I mean !!

Caleb is the Alpha of a large pack in the Canadian lands !! His mate has been found and well she is a human and scared of him or so he thought until she tried to kill him.

So much love and betrayal this book will keep you up till 2am reading !! It’s going to be a duet so be prepared for a cliffhanger that will have your heart on your sleeve !!

Land of Wolves:Revelations

I saw someone talking about this on Bookstagram, and I knew I had to request an ARC. I’m a sucker for wolf shifter stories. The story was a quick read (took me 1 day 🤓)
It follows Evelyn, a human who was raised in a government facility and trained to kill her wolf mate. She’s on a secret mission to gain intel and take him out, but quickly learns that the wolves are not exactly the monsters she’s been trained to believe they are. Now she’s torn between her fated mate and completing the mission she’s been training for since she was 7.

I found the FMC very immature at first, but as the story developed, I found she became much more mature and more relatable. The cliff hanger at the end had me yelling for book 2! I can’t wait to see what happens next.

❤️‍🔥Fated mates
🐺Wolf/human politics
❤️‍🩹Betrayal
☠️Assassin FMC
🔥Fast burn romance

Thank you to the author Invi Wright for an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

ARC review

This book was addicting from start to finish! It’s been a while since I’ve read any shifter romances and this reminds me how much I enjoy them.

Evelyn has been raised by a human organization (HPAW) to assassinate her fated mate, the alpha of the shifters, Caleb.

However, once she is finally among the shifters, she is left questioning her preconceived notions of shifters and questions her mission.

I loved how Evelyn’s internal conflict was portrayed, and how you can see as the book goes on how she realizes many of her thoughts were not her own, but the manipulation of HPAW. I tolerated her character at the start, but really liked her at the end.

Caleb was such a lovable character. He was patient and understanding of Evelyn, even when he had every right not to be.

Overall I really loved this book and I am absolutely dying to read the next one and know what happens next!

I really enjoyed this! The first part was a little I guess choppy feeling, is the best way to describe it. And I think that’s because our FMC is struggling with dueling feelings that are very contradictory! Which is the nature of the story, it fits! I absolutely flew through the second half! It had me hooked and I absolutely loved how it went. I think the mate bond in this book is very unique and I really like how the elements of it fit in the story. It ends on a major cliffhanger!
Our FMC basically has Stockholm syndrome from her time when she was taken by this facility as a child. And she is sent to the wolf shifters who include her mate, to assassinate him. So it shows her trying to acclimate with the pack, and face that things maybe aren’t what she thought, while she still keeps in her mind that she has to complete her mission! Overall I really enjoyed and would definitely recommend!

Thank you to Invi Wright for providing me with this e-arc!

ARC RATING

4.5 ⭐️

Invi has done it again, she has produced another masterpiece!!

I am wildly impressed with her depiction of the brainwashing and subsequent unraveling of Evelyn. I am really impressed with the way Evelyn’s thoughts were very rational to her, but to the reader it’s clear that she has a biased belief system without the knowledge to challenge it.

I loved that her attempt to complete her mission happens in the middle of the book, I initially thought book 1 would end with her attempt but feel that it happening in the middle of the book followed by the falling out with the pack was much better

I really enjoyed her redemption arc. I love that she decided to tell the truth regardless of the reaction of others and that very slowly over time they became more willing to listen to her side and her upbringing

I truly cannot wait for book 2 and I don’t know how I will survive until June!!!
