Even without cooking any of the recipes this a fun book just to read. Each recipe is very basic; plenty of pre-maid store bought mixes in the ingredients.
What I enjoyed was the quotes from famous people regarding alcohol (plenty of W.C. Fields to no surprise) that accompanied each recipe along with a toast and trivia. There is a non-alcoholic side to pair with each recipe and a suggested alcoholic drink recipe as well.

The premise is entertaining, the recipes seem good to mediocre - simple dishes, just add a dash of booze.

This is a fun book. In a lot of the dishes, the booze is just an addition (pb&j with a shot of vodka?) or something like Jell-O shots that we didn't really need a recipe for. But the toasts and trivia are fun, and the recipes are pretty easy.

Things I loved about this book:
- Awesome looking recipes (can't wait to try some!). Some of these recipes are legit, but some are just sneaky ways to incorporate booze into everyday foods (ie, mix some vodka into your jam before making a PB&J sandwich). I don't think I count that as a "recipe," but I love that it's in there. (I am so kicking myself that I didn't think of doing that PB&J trick back in the school days.)
- Drink pairings to each recipe
- The booze quotes by famous people on every page ("Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That'll teach you to keep your mouth shut." - Ernest Hemingway. Also, "My dad was the town drunk. Usually that's not so bad, but New York City?" - Henny Youngman.)
- "Tipsy Trivia" on every page

Things that disappointed me:
- Lack of pictures. More pictures in cookbooks!!!

Some very tasty sounding food. Great quotes head each of the recipes & interesting alcohol related facts, but just adding a tablespoon of vodka to mustard to make the recipe alcoholic is stretching it.
