this is how you start a series. that first chapter was intense and and brutal and really got me hooked. im a sucker for witches and magic and it is very interesting how mages are viewed in this world. i love nona and miramria and i wish the best for these brave mages. also with unique magic which is more fun than like fire magic! water magic!
i'm happy that it finally got a physical release. i hope we also get an english physical book soon.
you can read this manga on manga plus by shueisha. it's currently at chapter 11 with weekly release.
i really like the story so far, but we're already at chapter 11 and the magic system is still unclear. there's not even a hint of the greater conflict between humans and mages. although the lore building is slow, and sometimes it's a writer's choice to build it up that way, but i still wish there were hints here and there so we can understand a bit of the setting.
i like the art. i especially like the clothing. but some panels look empty. i'm not sure if it's filled in on the book, but the first few chapters were alright. the empty panels were most noticeable after chapter 4.
the first chapter hooks you up instantly, but the end of the first volume is a little lackluster. however, i'm still really excited with the progression, and getting to learn more about the lore and magic system.
Wow, this is such a good beginning of such a well written story. I love how many of the situations are handled, the characters feel multilayered and I absolutely love the protagonist. Nona is genuinely such a good protagonist. The one major fight that was covered in this particular volume was really strategic and very well done. I love the dynamic between Nona and her mother as well as Miramira. The magic is unique and that monster was a pretty unique idea too. The art is very beautiful too. Overall I feel that this is a 10/10 in every department. I am so glad I decided to read this. I really like Nona and her personality a lot and that also extends to her design and thus my appreciation of the cover.

Wow, this was a really good start! I was honestly a bit surprised by the gory bits, but it wasn't anything too disgusting. The art is really good, the characters are solid (I really like Nona and Miramira so far!) and the story is told in a compelling way that makes you turn the pages quickly. Can't wait to read more!
It was a great start to a series. Despite being three chapters long it didn't fail to emotionally hook me to the story and the characters. I love that it didn't hesitate to get a little darker for the story to progress. Now, I'm curious about how the plot will unfold and meet some new characters.
